First time following the Dakar and every day I’ve gotten home first thing I fire up are the highlights!! Which this was year round 🤣 come home every day to watch some Dakar highlights!

I follow Dakar for more than 20 years and this is the best coverage i rembember…glad that you guys are giving more exposure to the malle moto heroes and not only to the big teams. Only disappointment is to not show images of the leader chaleco and only showing quintero everyday. Dakar is consisntency as you mentioned and the leader deserves some respect. Congrats to all.

A double heart break for Kevin switching teams and be out of Dakar with a mechanical. While the HRC riders are still in the race and all within the top 10 of the GC. That’s 1 rider for each KTM umbrella teams out with either a mechanical or injuries. And the Dakar drama continues with only 2 stage to go a nail bitter for the bike category for sure. Thank you for the highlights.

There should be a hero-of-the-stage vote. Today, I would give mine to Nicolas Monnin! It would be cool if the Dakar team would offer some voting system for that or a buy-me-a-coffee button on the profiles pages for the malle moto riders. I am totally impressed by those tough women and men. They inspire when I close my eyes at night and some even last for years in my memory.

Honestly I don't know who's responsible for cutting these "highlights" but its missing crucial iformations so often, and the narrative makes no sense what so ever at times. Plus just random shots with dramatic music but no context. These things have mostly been a dissapointment and give way too little context.

I have been to Dakar 2019 in Peru and in live spectacting the trucks are absolutely the most amazing of all categories! And driving them through the dunes is really a challenge, as we could see on this stage summary. It was totally heartwarming to see all the competing teams helping each other to get out from the sand and continue driving. Can’t wait to go watch Dakar in person again!

I couldn't imagine taking on Dakar as a privateer with no support team. Idk how that guy gets his equipment from way point to way point, fuel etc.. I couldn't even get myself to the race without sum help. Let alone my bike, equipment, through all the several customs checks. Don't even know where to begin. Much respect to that guy, he's my hero regardless how he finishes.

It shouldn’t be allowed to change so many parts for the big teams… they need to build something reliable that lasts 15000km and not change the entire car parts. The privates dont have this option so at least there need to be some Timepenalties for big carpartchanges. Still love the rally👍👍👍 and its awesome as every year, but this is something i recognized more in comparison to last years

Nearly as light as the others!LOL Because it does not have a large battery as the electricity is generated onboard from a relatively small engine and big parts of the car are carbon !

I kind of understand why you need to promote those huge companies (audi this year). I would love to see more relevant information, e.g. Truck on fourth place dropped today and no mention at all - and it was only truck which was able to get between kamaz.

I think in general more people are interested in the cars as it's kind of the top category in the sport. Audi also has 2 of the biggest drivers in the sport on their team.

@Herkimer Snerd I know pretty all data of this car. In fact the "generator" is a 2l DTM Engine from Audi. Its the amount of fuel that makes this car a bit funny. An X-Raid mini with conventional engine has only 90 Liters more fossil fuel with them.

He had a massive problem in one of the early stages. He's a long time behind, so can push like hell and even risk a DNF in the hunt for the stage win record.

He had differentials failure in stage 2 that costed him hours of wait for the assistance and repair the vehicle. By stage 2 he was out of competition on the overalls positions unfortunately.

And this Audi is great peace of engineering, very advanced and yet in the debiut they won many stages, to prove that Audi can make everything fast.

Do the regulations not allow double dampers on each wheel? The Audi is just too heavy to expect that a single damper will do the work with no overheating, especially in such a hot climate.

Probably they miscalculated or underestimated forces and due to that, dampers are too weak. Next year it will be improved/fixed, I am sure.
