Favorite player growing up. I’d love to meet him one day! Great interview. I have all of his cards in a Cardinal uniform, even the obscure ones.

Being a Dodger fan I remember watching Tom Niedenfuer serve up the home run to Jack Clark which ultimately sent the Cards to the World Series. Herzog did a great job managing the Cardinals. I was sorry to hear about his passing. RIP

I have a great story about Jack Clark. We all know the MLB at the All Star Break they have home run derby. But they don't come close as what I saw Jack do. I was the club house Mgr for the Radcals in 1999. Jack was the manager. One day I asked him if he wanted to take BP? To my surprise, he did. After about 6 pitches, he got his timing down and then 36 to 45 in a row left the park! These were minor league used balls, not the lively MLB balls. He just didn't miss. True story. He did this again when we were playing away in Indiana. I got in trouble for that event as he hit all our practice balls out of the park! Had to go to local sporting store and buy a few dozen.

Social media dropping the ball. It's Sunday night and I'm just finding out about this. Noting on twitter, Facebook, RU-vid. I'm not in St. Louis I'm in Philly but follow baseball and was a fan of Whitey Herzog and the Cardinals back in the 1980's.

As a met fan, this dude was the only one you were legit scared of at the plate when cardinals played the mets. Esp 85'. They were all good but clark was the thumper of the lineup and they always had guys on base when he was up

Jack Clark made everyone in that Cardinal lineup better. If there is synergy in baseball this guy is it. Jack the Ripper was clutch too. I remember as a Giant he was leading the league in GWRBI a stat that is now forgotten. Do not pitch to Jack in the late innings its suicide.

Glad jack has gotten out of the business of pulling defamatory bullshit about beloved cardinals out of his rear end.
