Always nice to hear and see Zoe Saldana🌺. It’s sad that she was bullied for doing her job as an actress, but it’s inspiring that she didn’t become bitter from the negativity, instead she allowed herself to learn from the experience👏🏽
Whoever decided to interview Zoe Saldana I thank you. I absolutely loved who she really is in thus interview. Loved her openness, loved her authenticity, loved here beautiful conveying of genuine emotions. Loved her acknowledgment of where she came from and how it has uniquely shaped her. I have always loved her work. I listen to this and such respect such love for who she is a person. Thank her for taking that interview and sharing herself with us.
Zoe is beautiful and most importantly, talented and not waiting on people to approve or give her permission to pursue what white artists have pursued as their right. Haters hate people like her. Thank you for sharing your talents with the world and being a proud AfroLatina!
Shes an amazing actress! Wow what a record to break. Hope she knows she’s inspiring little girls, especially alot of little brown girls everywhere. Her father would be so proud to see all she has accomplished. No one is perfect, and she genuinely seemed to regret any professional mistakes shes made. Bravo!
The AA community is exceptionally intolerant. Really it's just a very vocal minority (within a minority) who have made a cottage industry out of canceling anyone who lands on their radar.
@@saintsataniko2116 silly comment. next time don't speak for an entire group of people. actors pass on roles all the time and she goofed on this one, admitted it, and moved on.
Correct. They are so sensitive and so entitled. Even the great actress Meryl Streep used prosthetics to aid her transformation for Thatcher, not to mention other actors. First of all, Nina Simon is indeed dark skinned and have that nose LOL.
it wasn't a stupid reason. You don't understand the layers that came with the criticism. Afro-Latinas are notorious for hiding and pretending their black side doesn't exist because in the Latin community, colorism is a thing and if you looked like a white person, you were considered beautiful and if you looked black you were considered ugly and mistreated. Zoe Saldana is Afro-Latina, however during her career, while she was vocal about empowering minorities, it was only ever for the Latin community. There are several interviews where she talks about how she loves representing the Dominican community, advocating for latin people but she not once did the same for Blacks. Not to mention when ever she was asked her race, she always said she was "dominican", or "comes from a Spanish background". Not once did she ever identify as a black person until recent years (after this controversy) Based on this, the black community got the notion that she obviously is not in touch with her "black side" and didn't want to embrace that side of her identity. So when she played a role of a very famous black woman that had to deal with racism and colorism, it was a huge insult to them. Why was a woman who has clearly shown she does not support black communities, getting spray painted and a given a big nose prosthetic to cosplay a black woman? I hope this helps.
I used to hate Zoe Saldana but fell in love with her after GOTG. Hope she finally starts seeing herself as a Hollywood star and get over that Nina thing which is part of the past. If she wasn't accepted by coloring herself black, her fans love her when she went blue and green! She mentioned here about the need to defend herself after Nina but the best revenge should be enjoying her success now and really owning it...just like how Robert Downey Jr. is doing.
Oh but she recognizes in her own words that she’s “black” isn’t that “woke” to the Right Wing??? Isn’t “Woke” just a dog whistle word for meaning “Black”????
She's so beautiful...I'm no sucker for celebrities I didn't even know about her until I seen her in the TMobile commericals....love her energy and personality.
Zoe Saldaña can certainly play characters of mixed heritage, which could justify her appearance in certain roles. However, limiting her to such roles based solely on her looks underestimates her talent and range as an actress. The film industry should aim for more inclusive and authentic representation, allowing actors like Saldaña to portray a wide variety of characters without being confined to stereotypes or expectations based on appearance.
You can be held accountable without being degraded and dehumanized and even getting death threats. Unfortunately, that is what happens now online. You make one misstep and people literally start calling for your head and act like you are irredeemably evil unless you prostrate yourself before the mob. Zoe has obviously grown, but it saddens me that she is also obviously carrying a lot of unnecessary pain from her experience being the target of internet ire.

Her husband took her last name. His before marriage was Perego since he’s Italian while Zoe’s is Saldaña since she’s Hispanic (Puerto Rican mother and Dominican father).
We can see your comments. Previous one was “sad sad sad”. Don’t watch these videos maybe? I try to do that with videos or people I don’t like. Just some advice.
