PSA: Despite what Hinchcliffe said on the broadcast, Romain Grosjean's crash was caused by suspension failure, not by driver error. He did not clip the inside of the corner, the suspension failed on turn-in and it caused the car to not turn. This was confirmed both by Romain and Andretti after the race, and explains why they were immediately on the radio telling him "That thing was miserable to drive, man. Good job ... nothing for you to be disappointed in."
I mean, I like him but the guy is involved in 40 percent of race incidents. Maybe his suspension failed because he was playing bumper cars the first 50 laps of the race, as usual. Lol
@@a5dr3 That's not very fair thing to say. He's racing hard just like everyone else. Guys like O'Wall, McLaughable are racing much rougher and dirtier than him. Usually his moves are fair and calculated. Every driver makes a few mistakes
WOW!!! 😃😃😃Another street brawl in INDYCAR!!! Racing on the streets of Detroit for the first time in 30 plus years and it didn’t disappoint!!! Now onto Road America!!! 🏁🏁🏁
Awesome race and broadcast. These highlights are awesome. So happy the recordings are posted here so I can come back and watch again when there’s no racing going on!
I'm rooting for him every race, but even if Romain had suspension failure he's still the same driver we saw in F1. He's very crashy, and until he keeps his driving reigned in he's going to struggle to secure his first Indy win. But once again Indy showing it is much more entertaining than F1 this year!
If there is a race next year, IndyCar HAS to fix the pits. Having one half the pits with a speed and placement advantage over the other is unacceptable. It's not fair racing. Left side pits had a big advantage. Fortunately, the racing wasn't sufficiently close for it to make much of a VISIBLE impact this year. All the fast cars seemed to have their pits on the fast side of the pits. (Imagine that!)
Honestly I don’t think that Grojean’s performance in Indycar is hardly even comparable to Marcus Ericsson’s success at this point. I’m starting to think he’s as overrated as Herta.
Track was horrid but at least it was a race. Feel bad 4 grosjean again like f1 VERY quick but inconsistant. Even if this one was car failure i feel 4 him he cant seem to break his old reputation
Fantastic Race...Totally different from the last one (which was also incredible)...Started watching Indy thanks to Max Verstappen comment lol, and I'm actually hooked
that was a thrilling 🔥 race🏁 indycar can have a good👍 show at any venue/track in the world no matter how narrow or wide the track is, or the type of track alex palou deserved that p1 after what happened in indy 500 in the pit road this yr, shows how he’ll be future indycar champ again 🙌 great battles between the mclaren drivers, alex palou, will power - phenomenal👌 wheel to wheel driving/racing
