What a great race! Barber was always amazing, except we didn't have many overtakes, but this wasn't the case today. A lot of wheel to wheel action, lots of contact but very few crashes, great technical level.
Amazing race. I had so much fun at the track. Indycar, you've got to do a better job of marketing this though. This is the best racing on the planet and too many people don't know it's happening.
To be honest, I've been watching Indycar for 30 years now and I can't remember when it was ever this aggressive. I mean, hard racing is good, but this constant contact and constantly pushing the opponent off the track is slowly getting out of hand. I can't remember Villeneuve, Unser Jr. or Greg Moore driving like that. Maybe the drivers should be taught again that they are driving a Formula car and not a NASCAR.
So we learned pato is just as bad as Grosjean, herta is going to bury santucci, Rossi still has a curse put on him, and Scotty Mac is still a powerhouse
Why can’t Indy have yellow flags like F1. These Cautions and restarts are unfair to faster drivers who work hard to build the gap. This is the main reason I am not following this sport. Another, albeit less important, is that all cars look identical. Would add more entertainment to the sport if teams had more freedom in designing their cars.
There was no cheating, just stupidity. No one would cheat on something that is so simple to detect and punish. They lost way more being DSQ than whatever advantage they would get from using P2P on restarts...Move on.
