i dont think he got ripped off considering they are vendors. And never a such thing as getting ripped off when it comes to comics its always about getting the better deal. CBM is such an awesome show !!!!
Flanagan is smart and remembers that he has to earn on them aswell (and earn quiet a bit) and not just break even like if most traders do between themselves.
Walt won’t pay top dollar for anything because he’s got to flip it and make a profit… preferably about twice what he paid. The seller is welcome to try to sell it himself on eBay or the street.
If that guy just held onto those books for a few more years, he would've made a fortune!!! Hulk 181 and Giant Size ended up skyrocketing in value, and the conditions of those books looked so nice!
Especially right now because of the economy. Back in the 90's was the best time to own a comic store because business was booming, but not if you were a collector because everything at the time was in such high demand that there were too many prints of key issues and now because of that they aren't worth shit. Most of the comics I bought in the 90's didn't go up in price much at all and I had a huge collection of the most sought after series.
Man I miss this show! Really hope Kevin Smith can find a network to bring it back! Last I heard he was shopping it around, don't get why amc dropped it, cause its on at 10pm anyways why not keep it in that slot after walking dead! And now walking dead is ending so come on amc bring it back! Or netflix ,Prime, or Disney+ bring this show back! We need a show about comic books and collectables! Also its a good laugh, Walt, Bryan, Ming, and Mike are absolutely hilarious!
Problem is, money talks, especially when you can get it on the spot. It kills me that some people cant wait a week or two to sell it online and get (at least) three-fold of what they are getting at their store.
I get the books at the time this was filmed weren't valued as much as they are right now, but why is that cap shield so expensive? what's so special about it? or was it some Con exclusive ?
I have always wanted a Hulk#181 but its so ridiculous over priced so i might have to pass and just go after a AMS#129 which is still a grail book for me.
I agree, plus it annoys the shit outta me. Then there's that Revenge of the Nerds laugh of his. I know he had to have gotten messed with by his friends when that movie first came out in the 80's. That's something that doesn't annoy me about him though because it's one of those laughs that makes me laugh even if the reason he was laughing wasn't funny to me. All in all, I would like to hang out with these guys, funny as hell.
What’s with the bearded guy making fun of any comic or super hero related thing people say? He’s on a show, called “comic book men” for god sakes, I get that he’s supposed to be the ball buster type guy but does he ever say anything that isn’t a snide comment based off what someone else said? If he doesn’t like comics why does he spend all his time hanging out at a comic book store acting like he’s cooler than everyone else, when he doesn’t even work there lmfao
