Join us on our journey as we undertake the exciting project of reconstructing our barn using repurposed shipping containers. Our tasks ahead include the substantial endeavor of burying over 25 sturdy posts, as well as tending to our hot line fence to ensure our cows' safety. Additionally, we extend our support to friends by visiting their homestead, where we lend a hand in preparing their garden through tilling. Experience the fulfillment of collaborative farming efforts and witness the progress we're making on multiple fronts in this engaging episode.
We have now been on our farm for a little over 3 years. Slowly we are expanding both our infrastructure and our animals. Follow our journey through learning about farm and ranch life. It's usually pretty comical.
As a large family and homestead we are working to be as cost effective and frugal in our farming as we can. We raise chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys for meat and for eggs. Our pigs and steers for meat and of course our milk cow Dahlia for that delicious milk! We aim to make our land better than when we bought it through Permaculture principals. We believe happy animals are a must and that working as a family can be fun!
