Extending Power Apps by Building a Progress Bar Component

Learn how to extend the capabilities of Power Apps with basic HTML and components. In this video, Brian shows how to create a reusable component in Power Apps to show the progress of an application. Then he makes it dynamics for the use of other developers and applies it into an application.
To update your app with the latest version of the component:
1. Publish the latest component
2. When you open the app you will be prompted to update the component
3. Alternatively, click the + icon in the side menu and click ... and Get Updates

Hey, Brian. Excellent tutorial. Just a question here, though. There seems to be no straight forward way for changing the color of the progress bar. I did find a way but it requires adding a style tag to the html but apparently adding internal css isn't allowed in Power apps canvas apps. So how can I change the color of the progress bar in this example?

You are correct. I couldn't find a way to add any overwriting CSS. It had to be inline the component.

You can set that in the inline CSS in the HTML. I would typically create a parameter to pass in so the using developer can set that also.

@@PragmaticWorks Hi Brian! This was a great tutorial. Like others, I'm also interested in changing the colour of the progress bar but am having trouble. I've tried to add inline CSS so my HTML now reads ""&comProgressBar.ProgBarName&"" but the addition of the colour style doesn't seem to do anything. Am I doing this wrong?
