Awesome stuff as always! I got bored this afternoon and instead of just an interior cleaning I ended up with a wash/decon/correction/wax on my E46. I forgot how satisfying this used to be
quick Question. Obviously I know you do alot of stuff for flare rather than efficiency, but I read the bottle of ironX and it says specifically to apply onto the paint, and then wash with a wash mitt to help spread the chemical reaction around. Thus doing your 2nd step of your wash and your 3rd step at the same time. Same thing applies to the wheels cleaners, alot of them recommend to apply and then proceed with your standard cleaning procedure i.e. apc in a power sprayer to help spread to iron dissolving chemical around to more areas. Edit: Never asked a question. I was wondering if you skip/dont do those steps just for the video, or if you have some other reason.
I switch it up in different videos. If you look back you'll see me do the things you said in different ways. At the end of the day almost all processes will yield a similar result when working with the higher end chemicals and processes. I try not think very hard about this stuff and just focus on the end result. As long as the iron is removed from the clear coat we are good.
Dang! Had the same thing, but in silver and with a hardtop. Could not imagine driving one of these way up North. Great job Rick. Look forward to the next video:)
Once gain we're not worthy. Awesome video chro the innovation of the camera work is amazing, have you ever thought of putting a camera near the end of the nozzle when your pre rinsing? Keep the great videos coming
Banger video! I darkened my room for the intro, the combination of the music and the car was brutal! You truly level the playing field of me choosing what my budget dream car is, Rick from RAD garage always advocates the audi r8's, but you shooting this video makes me torn between the two, so maybe both? xD
Thanks buddy! Haha that’s a difficult dilemma to be in! You feel like the Jaguar is a much better bang for your buck. But that new R8 body style is to die for! Why no both?
nice to see metal flake coming out of the paint after you work your magic on it~! at first looked like compound dust~! lmao!!!!!! ;-)- Awesome work/results and great videography~!
Great work! Black always POPS the most when detailed. Just got my silver F-Type detailed, metallic pops a lot more but silver is not impressive for depth...
seriously enjoy the videos. i just picked up a tripod to make iphone edits for my instagram. really like the style of your videos and inspired me to try filming 👍🏼
Hey just wondering how you like the Comet PW? Pros/Cons? I like the fact that is comes with a reel. Does it feel solid? And is the hose descent? Was this the 65’ hose too? Thx
Its awesome! At the end of the day it just shoots water and I never notice a huge difference. I have had the Kranzle and a Sun Joe, they all feel the same. The reel sucks on the Comet but the hose is great! No different than the KobraJet hose in terms of flexibility. I believe it is the 65' hose!
This channel needs more subs!!! The whole video experience is on point! I also see you upgraded from the SPX9004-Pro to the Comet. How do the two units compare?
Thanks buddy! Hopefully we'll start growing fast! They are honestly very similar in my opinion. I am not a huge nerd about them but the Comet does seem to produce a high flow and is easier to work when when removing heavy dirt. But both are very good !
Chromatic Auto Detailing titanium silver! And for a silver car, it was definitely showing some wear! First time ever doing it too! Gave me the inspiration and motivation after watching the green bmw on here a while back
Another awesome video! Got hooked on you earlier this summer and have watched most, if not all of, your videos. Thanks to you I have a MYCHANIC stool (great seat!), IK Foam 2, P&S Brake Buster, Oberk, products, and clean my glass using a magic eraser, all based on your tips/reviews. Really have enjoyed watching the videos evolve with the animation and music. Quick question-which clay bar did you use? I thought you usually use AM Clay, which is white, but the clay bar looked pink. Cheers!
Thanks Don! I really really appreciate that! That is the exact reason I make them. The clay bar in this video was Car Supplies Warehouse own brand. They're awesome and very cost effective!
I also use AM Luxury Bubbles. It’s my favorite soap right now. How do you like the Adam’s wash mitt? I’m using Micro Fiber Madness right now but I’m not so impressed. Great work and beautiful editing as always!
Thanks Matt! Honestly soaps and mitts all feel the same to me. Haven’t really favoured any over others. I do like The Rag Company ones because of the embroidered logo haha
@@ChromaticGarage The embroidered Rag Company logo on the cyclone mitt is dope! I do a lot of maintenance washes so I’m peculiar about the washing process. Soaps can feel very different to me. Some have more lubricity to them so they feel “slicker” than others. That why I like the AM Bubbles... it feels slick to me. I also like P&S Pearl and WoWo’s Detailers Shampoo. I don’t care as much about the foaming abilities as I do the lubricity of the soap. I tend to overthink this stuff!
So im looking into getting the Workstuff detail brushes as they are highly recommended ( from not only you but also Luke Wilson, Jason Chicago auto pros etc. ). I usually have one for the interior, exterior paint, and exterior wheels. Then I have a maxshine ultra soft detail brush as well for dusting interiors ( so i dont need another one of those ). Which workstuff detail brushes would you recommend for all those uses?
I would just grab the set that comes with the 3 different materials and see which ones you like best for those applications. They’re pretty universal so it’s definitely preference!
hello, super video as always. What kind of lighting should be used in general for the polishing phase? What is the minimum power and how many lamps (for a passionate amateur). Thank you
Thanks bro! I love this platform! Not necessarily the soft top but I figured it made for an aspect of the video people don’t usually see. Which is costing them. Have a good week man!
Gorgeous car if you put that next to a BMW, Audi, Porsche this car would get more looks than those others. Those other cars are a dime a dozen Jaguar is in a class by itself.
Yeah people don't realize the time commitment to getting something to that level of clean, though noncar people don't really care, they take it through a car wash and it seems good enough for them.
The only problem is the price of a level of this detailing and wash is not similar to a regular car wash. Can you afford washing your car every single time at a detailer? There is no way. Unless you want to wash it yourself that's another story.
It's the same thing with motorcycles I'm a dedicated motorcycle detailer based in Scotland and when u give customers the quote, they are looking at u like u have 2 heads, but the time involved in doing paint correction is like, how long is a piece of string 😅 nice work by the way, although I've not seen this technique before with just a spotlight on, I'm assuming it's to cut down on the light reflections....
Thanks Chris! This is just a regular Carhartt jacket that we put a patch on. It was designed after old school racing logos. Put in on a bunch of work clothes last year
This makes me so jealous lol, I had a customers car to do the other day, mold on the inside, spare wheel well full of water, trunk was soaked, dirt caked on the indicator stalks, stains on the seats you get the idea. Banged out a full interior and exterior detail in about 6ish hours and I found out she made a comment to someone about how slow I was 😂
What was the mitt you were using to clean the face of the rims? I’m trying to look for one but don’t want to spend a fortune at obsessed garage for something that is going to get beat up by the rims. I enjoy watching your videos and thanks
It is from a company called Detail Popo. I am actually not sure where they are available. However no difference in price from the obsessed garage offering
@@ChromaticGarage dam! I’ll see if I can search for one because I don’t want a big wash mitt for the face of the rims. I want a small and compact one but I’ll keep trying. Thanks
great camera work my g but i don't understand how this took 13 hours? were you talking about the time to edit the video or working on the car? just wanna know because i plan on starting a small detailing company to make some money for my first car.
This was a full decon, 2 step paint correction and ceramic coating. It costs $1550.00. It was realistically 19 hours with camera work, another 6 for editing
Gros travail et top comme toujours ... Je me demandais si vous aviez des micros rayures sur la partie des jantes noirs laquées avec votre pinceaux? Hello from Belgium.
Congratulations, man, you did a great job. Greetings from Turkey🇹🇷 watched with relish every second. Let me ask you two questions. 1- Do you recommend IK Foam 1.5 or IK Foam Pro 2 for the rim? 2- Why did you use APC instead of P&S Break Buster or CG Stinky Gel on rims? Thanks dude. Take care of yourself
Thank you Alparslan! I recommend the Foam Pro 2. It produces the exact same foam but the slightly larger jug is nice and ergonomically it feels better! I don't notice a huge difference between any of the wheel cleaners, I find the iron remover does all of the heavy lifting!
@@ChromaticGarage you should not be advising people to iron spray carbon ceramic brakes. Hardly any brake dust and very likely can ruin a $4,000 brake (PER WHEEL). For that matter, any harsh wheel cleaner is also a no-no. Pretty dangerous video in my opinion
