We did not use the standard notch trowel in this given project due to the uneven surface finish of the CHB layout. To ensure that the EPS board sticks even on uneven surfaces, we isolate a huge amount of adhesive and apply pressure when installed so that the adhesive behind the board, spreads on its own. We only use notch trowels in cases where the surface of installation is seamless like if the walls are finished with plasterboard and/or poured concrete. We apologize if it is not clear in the video but we did provide back wrap behind the edges on the bottom part of the wall. on the other hand, we did not provide on the upper edge because there was an notion during installation on whether to include the soffit or not. We taped the video before the decision was made to include the soffit. Thank you for your feedback and comments. We appreciate it.
@@angeltsosie2133 We used an improvised foam rasper of Sand paper and Aluminum Channel because it weighs lesser than the basic foam rasper and is much cheaper while providing the same quality of result.
@@angeltsosie2133 We forgot to mention that we have our own formula on the adhesive used for EIFS. Our base coat, at the same time, serves as the waterproofing layer. This enables us to lessen the time of installation and lessen the thickness output of the whole system.

Ya, no shit. Ever heard of a Hawk? Or a durrarasp? Didn't think so. The foam application the way they stuck it to the wall would get the job shut down. It needs a Notch Trowel!! For water drainage. Also the wall is not gold coated or a bonding agent. Time is money and you never want to go back to a old job. So many bad mistakes. Sorry if I offend, but, you need waay more research.
They are applying this to a commercial building. The substrate is concrete, so this seems legit for the type of application. I'm not an expert though so...
Not really that time consuming and eifs will last much longer without needing repairs.. out here in PHX Arizona, majority of buildings out here are eifs
I've seen eifs jobs done 10x as fast by union guys, eifs is used mainly because it can be made into any shape and has some distinctive looks that traditionally come from cement stucco while being cheaper and more energy efficient than cement stucco.
