This is a safe technique as long as applied sideways like in this video. In Hapkido and Capoeira we use it in this very same way and it's okay. Recently, there have been many videos circulating about injuries that happen when this technique is applied from front. Too many people are demonizing it unnecessarily, I think. Nice video 😊
It is safe if done sideways and guiding the partner towards his back. In jiu-jitsu and MMA people started doing it from front, while holding the neck and guiding the partner to an angle. This last adaptation frequently leads to a knee twisting movement.
Very few grandads on the planet can pull of that scissor takedown that technically smooth and even then it takes energy to execute fall and rise up.... 🥋
