For anyone wondering: I removed that video with the Audi wheeled Lada because I felt like I was cheating on you guys lol, in the first 5 compilations I had the silly decision to cut out big parts of too long (as I thought back then) videos of cars that were super hard to start, so here I showed only the last, successful attempt, while in reality he cranked it for minutes on end. It will reappear soon, in a new compilation since you can't add content in YT Editor, but with all attempts showed.

It was -53°F today, and there were only a few cars out driving, just mainly Toyotas, Fords, and Subarus. And then there was a 2011 Kia Sorento driving around with no problems

All of those low oil pressure lights stayed on for so long. The poor main bearings lol. they need to use a 0w40 or 0w30 synthetic oil

Use the right oil and let it warm up at a normal pace, no revving or anything. Low temperature oil exists.

These cars all sound like they need some thinner oil! We just had -35 and the cars I've had access too used 5w20 and 0w20. Start no problem like it was a normal day lol

I have to laugh at the Lada 2104 (7:27); a weak battery (or too thick engine oil), dropping down to about 6-7 volts (according to the dashboard voltmeter), it sounds like someone cutting with hacksaw while cranking - yet, albeit after a rather long 12-13 seconds cranking time, it still fires up! That's got my respect!

it cranked like this for 3-4 attempts in the original video actually check it out, even slower at the first one, so battery definitely has juice :D, probably the oil was thick asf, those old Lada engines won't accept 0w oil well. Carbed cars start as soon as they sniff fuel even if they crank super slow. I had a near dead battery in my Fiat Uno which was barely able to turn the engine once after I turned the key. I did that 3-4 times though and at one of those "one-crankshaft-turn" start attempts it STARTED actually, but bastard stalled 3 seconds after because fuel lines were empty from long sitting. Then it didn't start again unfortunately, battery died totally :D

@@WymiataczPlays We had an old Peugeot 305 1.9 Diesel Estate. When it was quite cold over here in the UK (not as cold as in these videos though), the heater plugs would remain on for about 15 seconds, when it came to be cranked it would turn over quite slowly, to the point the starter stopped turning for a second or so, then it would burst into life. The battery was slightly old at the time.... When the engine was hot, the heater plugs would go out after about 5 seconds - but it would require about 6 or so seconds cranking to start it! It seemed to start easier and faster when cold! Still miss that damn car!

@@kaceyanders6599 hahahaa, now that is an interesting case, better start for a diesel when cold than when hot, may have had something to do with the injection timing if i had a car like that i would run WVO in it all day everyday

@@WymiataczPlays I thought that but the timing was OK - got it checked using two dial gauges (the timing specified needed two gauges, one on the pump plunger and one on piston 4 (0.5mm BTDC piston 4 when the pump plunger is 0.3mm ABDC) [I'd call it piston 1, as it was the closest to the timing belt end - but apparently it's piston 4 according to the manual!]). Je n'ose pas me disputer avec les Français...

4:56 I did not expect that Fiat to start. I tried to start my Alfa Romeo in -35 and all that happened was that I heard two pistons fire up. I had to push it down a hill in order to make it start.

not really, i take videos from other users' channels if they allow me to use them in my compilations. mostly some tiny channels with only that video or a few others. 99% of them react like "yeah, no problem, take it if you want" there was only one guy ever who said "no" i didn't plan on making more but if you want to send them then go ahead, why not, one day i might slap together another video

its a common fault in those scorpios due to shitty soldering joints, when it's super cold both fuel and temp gauge will show mid scale. when interior warms up it gets better. listen to how it starts, do you think a warm diesel will start like this?

I may be ignorant but how do you start the engine if your car is equipped with the modern "push start" system, not the one you insert your key to the designated place and twist your hand? I have never experienced less than around -8C and my car back then with old system started with no problems.

depends on the programming i've seen a vw tdi fail to start at -27c because this push start cranked only for a few seconds at a time LOL. mostly from what i saw though they crank longer until start or some time limit.

Yellow is oil level. Red is oil pressure and then you REALLY have to worry :D

Its a fault with shitty soldering connections on the Scorpios, when it's super cold outside it shows mid temperature and mid fuel no matter what. Just listen to how it starts, it wouldn't start like this if it was at 90*C...

@@Blast-Forward In all seriousness I sometimes wonder what would happens to girls that would get excited and at -50, -55*C outside and be stupid enough not to wear properly warm underwear... Damn, I think that might have been not pleasant. But no one is dumb enough to go out not properly dressed in -55*C I guess, if you live somewhere where it gets that cold, you probably know how to act in that temperature, or you wouldn't stay around for too long ;D

My 7-year-old Opel Astra J starts without problems at -32*C. The main thing is to choose the engine oil according to the season (climate), change the spark/glow plugs in time, and use high-quality fuel.

@@Boemel My car model is 2011, the engine is A14TNET. If you have such problems with the car (of any brand), then it is correct to return the car to the seller. Maybe your car is defective.

Сам хуй знает почему ее сделал. Скучно было. )) Но людям видно нравится, так решил их сделать больше. А про Америку, да там такие морозы бывают спокойно, может не как в якутии -55 и ниже но такие как на видео уже бывают, а ниже -50 вряд-ли вообще машину заведешь без прогрева.
