I'm Always shoked on how american/Canadian houses are made. When you renovate a house here in Italy/Europe you literally have to dig the Stone walls to lay the plumbing...

@@16demolka are interior walls also concrete in Europe? I hate American buildings for sure. but our house built in the 1940s is super amazing quality, so we got lucky, but I know of new builds in Utah that LITERALLY just fall over. it's insane

Definitely not a fixer upper. It’s crazy that people think that they have to have everything up to date, or “nice” in order to live in! If you have the means to do so, and desire to update things, go for it, but their house before was perfectly fine! Even if it wasn’t their style.

I suppose they mean it’s a ‘fixer upper’ to them, but they should probably change their wording. 😅 it’s just an outdated (according to their taste) home they renovated.

Looks stunning! I like the yellow colour, I think the darker stain on the vanity works well with the colour on the walls. The tiles are beautiful too. You're very fortunate to have a handy husband and to have a budget for reno's, it's not cheap!

Delilah is a visionary! I’m curious about smth I’ve noticed in a lot of North American renovations: the single-lever mixer tap faucets are replaced by separate taps. To me, this seems like a regression and not an update, as single-lever mixer taps are so much more practical. Is there a reason for this or just a trend?

Absolutely beautiful. Your aesthetic is very similar to my own. Although, I can’t put a finger on this “style”. What do you call it? I have been curating a Pinterest board with a very similar aesthetic for a couple of years, but still have yet to figure out what it “is”. Where do you pull your inspiration from? I am currently designing a reno for my own home. It seems like a mix of colonial/cottage/modern vintage, perhaps? Anyway, would love to know where you gather your inspiration, aside from Pinterest. It's definitely eclectic: my interpretation is that it's a cottage, 19th century shower curtain, modern shower tile, Victorian vanity, farmhouse wainscoting and pegs, mid century modern floor tile. Someone said 90s light fixture. Haven't seen it yet.

I'll be honest. Do I like the color? No, I don't. But I do love the story behind why you chose it and I can tell it makes you very happy. That's all that matters. I completely understand being sentimental about a color, I'm currently trying to convince my husband to let me paint our house a very pale pink to match my grandmother's house when I was growing up.
