Hello everyone and welcome to today’s Extreme Bedroom Makeover on an extreme budget, we completely transformed this room under $200 (however My sons bedroom makeover budget was approx $280 so we have some money left over from Zoeys bedroom makeover to add some additional items to her room, which I will be sharing in a near future video) This is a DIY bedroom makeover, I cannot believe how amazing this room turned out! We found a fun surprise in her bedroom that completely elevated and transformed her room and the best part is, it was free! (I'll be doing the same to all the bedrooms YAY!) Zoey wanted a more mature look, she LOVES horses and wanted a Western…Vintage theme and I really think we pulled it off, she designed her room, just like my son designed his room and I think these bedrooms are 1000 times better than before! The kids absolutely LOVE their rooms, which makes my heart so happy! I linked everything new down below, but let me know if you have any questions, comment in the comment section of the video! Everything Else I already had on hand, minus some brushes, the wood putty and some other tools needed to complete this makeover. Total Spent was approx $190, we have money left over from the budget so in a future video we’ll be adding a new lamp & curtains, plus we have to finish the floor.

Thats what I was thinking too, keep the canopy as a reading nook! I wasnt sure where exactly to place it, but Zoey seems to really love it there, she loves her room. I’m so happy for you on the hard wood floors! Zoe’s floor is beautiful even with the flaws. You can probably sand that stain out of the floor. Floors are so much easier to clean. What a genius idea to use the papers from the frames as a template on the wall! Wow! So beautiful Danielle! Great job my girl! You could try the bed at an angle under the canopy! I love the dresser on an angle. The floor and everything is gorgeous! So proud of you! 😘

I think it’s the warmth factor, and it keeps the rooms quieter. It’s a northern climate thing for sure. It’s funny that when I was a teen, we moved into a house with real wood flooring in all the bedrooms. My mom couldn’t wait to get carpet in all those rooms! She grew up with hardwood floors and hated being cold all the time. To each their own. 😊. Really admire your DIY spirit! Hugs from Iowa!

for lucas’s room, since there’s a bunch of light sabres maybe on a wall in his room you can put like a shelf/ hook thing so you can put up the light sabres and get them down when he wants to use them! also for the carpet you should turn it horizontally so it’s still covering the stain but it’s also like an entrance carpet!

The room looks so nice and not over the top with the theme so it will transition nice when she gets older too. The floors!!! What a score! Beautiful! Oh and if you don’t want to move the bed under the canopy maybe you could put a cozy chair there or something. She could snuggle up and read a book or something.

🌺🌸Beautiful 🌸🌺 You did an amazing job Danielle and I absolutely love the wood floors. Living in Florida I’ve always had tile floors and I do not like carpet at all. You just can’t clean carpet the way you can bare floors. Thanks for another job well done. It took me about 4 hours to watch this video between taking care of my two year old grandson and entertaining him and keeping him happy but I always manage to finish watching. It's beautiful! I hate having carpet. It's only upstairs because my mom and I pulled out the carpet in the living room. It's a pain to move things on carpet. And it stains, can smell. Hardwood is easier to manage. I'm not sure if I have hard wood upstairs. I'll be moving anyway. Congrats for your hard work.

It truly is bittersweet, I was actually thinking about that when I was making over Zoeys room, I was thinking how fast my kids are growing up... I want it to slow down LOL. As cute as her room is, it is a little sad that shes no longer into the little kid stuff anymore :( But oh jeez these bedrooms needed a serious makeover LOL YAY to wood flooring! My dad didn’t let me paint my room until after college - like gee, thanks.. 😂 Yes, we have carpet in our bedrooms too, with tile in the bathrooms and wood throughout the rest of the house. Sweeet Job on the room!! You asked if you you should move the bed under the conopy but I would go the other way closer to the desk side making a bigger space to sit and read or text etc😉 Great job working on it without Ian, husband do work so hard that sometimes they don’t even realize it! I think the canopy where it is is a great spot, maybe move the bed over a few inches so the canopy area can have a bit more space and like someone else said, put a little comfy chair or cushion there for her to sit under the canopy. The room looks great, very mature, great colors and style! And it's okay about the freak out, no need to feel bad about it because it's just you being honest and real about your emotions and showing us the ups and downs of your journey. Keeping my fingers crossed that your electrical problems will end!

The canopy should be over the bed. Just put the fabric behind the headboard. Makes no sense beside the bed. For some reason it looks like a cartoon ghost to me.

Finding those floors is SO exciting! We have carpet in our bedrooms (except one daughter who has LVT) and in the living room. I wouldn't mind hard wood in the living room, but with as cold as it gets in PA I definitely prefer carpet when I'm walking around my bedroom.

Its almost like watching a comedy movie only its my real life...i just want it to slow down 🤣 The AC unit broke me LMBO Every time I start to paint a room or area, I feel like that alone just transforms it. The hardwood floors are amazing! Had an idea that maybe you could attach the Barbie dream house 🏡 and other dollhouse to wooden boards and then put wheels under it. It allows Zoe to easily move them around. AKA she can put it away and take it out herself easily🎉

I have the velcro curtains on my French doors that lead to my dining room. I love them. They work so great!!! When my kids come in we move the table all the way to the wall in the dining room and put the air mattresses in there. We just let the curtains down for their privacy and it's amazing!!!

Next time you check in and ask your house how are you feeling your house should start being more happy and start improving instead of falling apart bc it should be happy and thrilled to be showing off its natural hard wood beauty again . Dani, there is a RU-vid channel called Transcend Furniture Gallery that does wood furniture restoration. She uses oxalic acid on stains on wood furniture and it makes me wonder if that would work on the stains on the floor. You might want to research it, because I know you have to cover the whole surface, so maybe the whole wood plank and not the whole floor would be okay.

Danni the room came out gorgeous. You did a great job on it. Score on finding hardwood flooring in all of the bedrooms!!!!! As far as the canapy, if she likes ot where it is as far as a reading nook area, then keep it there. You can always move it later to be over the bed. As far as the electrical situation, maybe your electric company can cover the cost of the electrician since the meter was the issue in the first place? I really miss talk to you on IG. I totally love your facial expressions, i was laughing so hard i cried 😂. Literally. I get it, sometimes when things like that ho on and your not expecting it, you just need a moment to get your barrings You handled it so good. Lol I have to ask this, from a fellow Minnesotan, do most people you know in MN have carpet? 🤣 I swear everyone I know in Minnesota has carpet, at least somewhere in their house ha. I want zero carpet in my home. I don't ever want carpet again. I could see the flooring getting a little cool though in the winter, I think that there's flooring, hardwood flooring, that is heated? Congratulations on your amazing hardwood flooring discovery! You literally just found thousands of dollars hidden in your house!!!😁 When we did our home theater, we pulled up the 1970’s era carpet and found beautiful hardwood floors as well! All I had to do was take up the tack strips, vacuum and damp clean. My 53 year old floors looked brand new! Holy crap!!! So very sorry about your AC going out! Literally happened to us 10 years ago when we were painting our family room! Luckily, it was an inexpensive fix but we had to replace the heat pump and furnace a few years later. Right after we got back from our Disney vacation!!!! LOL It was like the universe KNEW we had just spent a crap ton of money so it decided February was a great time to have a dead furnace!😳😁

M’y parents came to stay with us during Summer (they live overseas) and since they came (less than 1 month ago): the stove stopped working and had to be changed twice, both fridges stopped working for 48h 2 days apart and the plumbing company from the building wanted to break my kitchen wall due to a suspicious leak…. Love the change! Keep the canopy as a reading nook for Zoe. As for carpets- I think all cold regions have them, especially in winter; I was raised in Maine and my parents built their home in 1970 and there was carpet in EVERY. SINGLE. ROOM. Yea, even the kitchen and bathroom- it was the fad back then, 25 years later, the kitchen, bathroom and living room got ceramic tile; part of the reason for carpet is the cold floors in winter. I now live high in the mountains of CO and we have the original wood floors with area rugs, it was covered with carpet also (house built in 1938, carpet in late 60’s until we bought it in 2011 🤢).

I was disgusted the first time I found out that people had carpets in the bathroom. All I could think of was mold. Mold and other things. Like, when you shine a UV light in the bathroom and you see ALL of the bodily fluids on the floors, the side of the vanity, the walls, around the sink, around the toilet, in the toilet. Plus what about when the toilet overflows when it’s clogged up. Do they just rip the carpet up and install a new one? That’s expensive. If you need to feel something soft on your feet get a rug. Make a d.i.y. rug out of carpet. Now this is the first time I’ve heard of carpet in the kitchen. The amount of spills I’ve made in the kitchen. The liquids, the powders. This is wild to me. I will understand rugs and those foam mats that we can stand on for cushion for our feet, but an ENTIRE carpet?

First of all I'm sorry about all the breaking house things. That really sucks. 2nd I'm in the same situation with my husband works so much I hate asking him to do anything around the house. Isn’t it just the best to find real original hardwood floors? I discovered the same thing in my old house after I had paid a company to put down new carpet and linoleum. We canceled the order and exposed my original floors were gorgeous. I’m so happy for you.🎉

Girl friend! I feel for you! I have pulled up carpet in an apartment I had lived in to save time for the installer I had to pull all the nails and tacks out too. It took me awhile but I did it! Never again! You did a fantastic job and your daughter is lucky to have a mom like you who loves her children and would do anything to make them happy! Loved the meltdown! I had similar doors in my daughters room. We used clear cabinet liner. It gives privacy but allows the light in. It looked like etched glass.

Floors can be sanded and refinished - they last forever- pretty redo- you can rent floor sanders I think- also my OCD was like Daniele another coat on baseboards- if it rains it pours hunny- maybe the electrical issue blew the AC check with your homeowners insurance- you have proof of an issue

You can have it for free, I would never have anyone pay for things i'm decluttering. Are you talking about the princess canvas, I'm pretty sure we still have it, I filmed decluttering Zoeys closet, there was a lot we decluttered, let me double check. YAY!!! So I got it right! Those are so dang cool, and there pretty inexpensive and there blackout curtains which is really nice! Im so glad you caught that! I wanted to make sure I was getting the right thing! I have to do more work in the kids bedrooms (and a complete makeover on Ian and I's room LOL...its pretty bad HA) so i'll incorporate those curtains and a new lamp, im excited for you to check that out in a future video! Carpet in bedrooms helps dampen sound. Allergy sufferers do so much better without carpet anywhere. You are so sweet to listen to your kids and help them have a space just for them. Pliers, I used pliers to get the staples out of the wood floor.

The stains on the wood flooring will probably come out. You can send them down and then reseal them or re-stain them. It is wood so it will go down in layers as you sand

The room turned out so cute! I tossed out carpet for the floor underneath too! It took lots of sanding and a dark red stain to get rid of the black spots on my floor
