I'd be interested to measure actual speed. I've hit 50MPH on my road bike going down hill. Higher bigger, wheels, so it doesn't look as fast, but it terrified me because falling is literally death or months of recovery. For him, sucky grass burn (unless it's steep enough he actually gets to rolling out of control). Not to self, skiing always allows steeper turns than biking.

I'm an older Cat, but dig riding. I lived on my bike as a kid. The 1st thing we did as kids when we got a new bike was take off the kickstand and the reflectors were next to go. SO I understand taking stuff off....... but guys, why no brakes? I still ride on critical mass rides and local trails and none of the "cool" kids ride brakes. Hell even my kids ride brakeless. Help me understand fellas. Good video by the way, I live in a big city so my surroundings are not that nice!

I'm 11 and my bike is like 2x bigger than that. I don't even know how I ride my bike but I do. I can't do tricks and stuff like that because my bike Is too heavy for my body weight to handle.

You guys can obviously ride ... but let someone who rode BMX Street for 15y tell you: you miss out on a lot of fun to be had in the woods - with a more appropriate bike. Something with a bit bigger wheels, some suspension (at least up front) and a propper brake. With your skills you'd be able to flow and trick this terrain like crazy!

i seriously dont understand why other bmx'ers dont use brakes... they dont add much eight, and if they get in the way for bar tricks you can temporarily move them further down the bars, or take the lever assembly off, its so much fun having brakes on gravel and dirt tracks and you will save alot of money on shoes... a $5 set of pads is alot cheaper than $170 vans shoes.... but for the most part i do get it, you need to know you can grab the bars anywhere if you have to without a lever getting in the way.. but i still run both brakes personally... but then again, i cant do tricks anyway, lol

I miss bmxing. Idk why i stopped, i didn't do feeestyle i did pump tracks. Had a specialized hemi fatboy from 2005. Sold it for 80 dollars (it was pretty hammered from trying to ride it on motocross tracks) i still skate and ride dirt bikes. Those are my 2 obssessions. Skateboarding and dirt bike riding.
