This was a life changing hack for me: Put old newspaper in the bottom of your garbage bins. This will absorb any spills and makes cleaning it out way easier and faster.
@@jayalexander6798 you can use any "junk mail paper" coming into your house, i always get grocery store flyers in the mail :) you can also use paper napkin
Why, after getting home from a long day of work, doing bath and bedtime solo, and meal prepping breakfasts for the rest of the week, is the first thing I do when I have 5 minutes peace to watch you cleaning your dishwasher filter? 🤣🤣 and somehow I love it
Hi Emily! Former multi family property manager here. In regards to the condensation in your window, if you use a fan in your room the condensation will dissipate and there will not be any more mold. Yes, new windows would be the permanent solution but in the mean time air in movement prevents humidity to sit in one spot and cause mold. Good luck!
Loved the washing machine cleaning so much! That's on the list for tomorrow now! I use disposable desinfecting towels for (computer) screens on my phone regularly, especially since I often have it with me on the toilet 😂 don't judge, I'm a mum too, it's my 2 min of quiet time lol
Lint roller! That is a game changer!! I have beautiful lamps by my bed - but they are fabric and gather loads of dust but I can never seem to 'rub' it off as it just sticks. I think a lint roller is the solution I need !!! Thanks so much :-)
Hey Emily, my grandmother swears by denture tablets to get stains out of the loo 😁 she just drops a couple into the loo and they go all fizzy Also works for mugs! X
When this is streaming.. i was cooking my dinner... stopped it in bw and cleaned my washing machine.. such a great inspiration emily.. ♥️ by the way.. u can put the mixture of baking soda and vinegar to clean the mugs instead of chemicals.. xxx
Great job Emily 👏🏻 Once a year I clean literally everything in my flat. I take off every book from the shelves and wipe each one by one, take out everything out of my kitchen cupboards and clean the cupboards, wipe chairs and tables, just everything! It normally takes me a couple of weeks but feels so nice afterwards 🤗
Emily thank you for being a fun motivator! I love your cleaning and food prep videos especially- I have 4 little ones and just diagnosed with ME and trying to stay bright and independent... I really do get motivated by your videos and love your product recommendations too! Thank you for making your content fun and bright 💕
Finally someone who keeps it real. So many youtubers do clean with me and literally cleaning clean surfaces but you really got into the nitty gritty and I appreciate that
I know this will sound really weird but I found it reassuring that you also have to deal with things like black mould in the house! Your home always looks so perfect and it was good to have this reality check! Thanks for all your awesome tips.
I think the fact that your house looks clean shows that you actually do the cleaning routines you share. Thank you for sharing the bits that don’t get done so often.
Tip to clean mugs that I use is to use milton steralising tablets and a washing up bowl and put then to soak in there. Also great for cleaning out water bottles
Great inspiration! A tip to keep mold away from your washing machine and dryer is to leave the door and the detergent box open for an hour/over night after use!
You are my inspiration to start filming speed cleans!! They are so satisfying!! Think I’ll need to do a deep clean one now as this was so satisfying to watch! Thank you for being so fabulous Emily!!!💕💕💕
Emily thank you for posting this one! I thought I was the only one with the condensation/ mold problems on my windows. I want to try those dehumidifier from amazon. Thanks for the inspiration!
How did I never know that the washing machine had a filter like that? Totally gonna clean that out (toddler permitting). Also how do you look so cute in leggings and a tshirt?!
LOVED this! We have a problem with mould in both our bedrooms, the only thing that works for us for a while is HG mould remover! Great video as always xx
Loved this video. We had our windows replaced last year and since having them done we seem to be getting black mould which is annoying. I got a kartcher window vac for getting the condensation off which is great xx
Thank you for the motivation on things we don't clean. Today I'm spring cleaning and moving all of the furniture and apparently cleaning my washer dryer and dishwasher.
So today my house needs a deep clean! And now watching this at 6am... my list has become bigger! Ha ha you dont realise about the machines you use daily how dirty they get, i do clean my washing machine regulary but not as much as i should. Cant remember when I last did the dishwasher or dryer. Oops!! Once kids are at school im getting my clean on today, thanks Emily! X
I’m an administrator for a double glazing company andBlack mould is a really common problem. You tend to find it in bedrooms because of the carbon dioxide we breathe out during our sleep. Also if you dry your clothes under the window at the radiator that can cause it. The heat will cling to the coldest thing which tends to be our windows. Changing the air is the quickest way to help. Even just opening the window slightly will help.
I clean houses and worked at a paint store for years... For your window id recommend you sand and repaint using an exterior paint. Exterior paint are mold resistant and a lot more durable. Maybe even keep long rice bags in the window sill to help with moisture.
Have you cleaned door knobs? Seems like people I know overlook them, I clean mine a lot. Also any video game consoles the controllers are frequently touched/held.
Loved this informative video Emily. One different tip for cleaning inside the washing machine draw shoot bit... you know the one where as you quite rightly pointed out mould and scum builds up etc. I buy the bendy baby bottle brush cleaners from the pound shop. They often come with a little sponge on the end too. You not only can bend them to fit most curves and crevices you can also scrub down the actual shoot part where the water and fab conditioner enters the machine drum. Then I use a empty used washing up liquid bottle filled with water. I've always got a spare one handy and I literally squirt water up on the roof of the detergent shoot to rinse it all off... it honestly works a treat! I then run a washing machine cleaner in it like the zafora xxx
Emily I found this mum hack that works where you have black mould around sealants like the windows. Cover the area with toilet roll or kitchen roll and then squirt bleach directly on the area. Leave the tissue soaked with bleach overnight if possible but I've done it within 6 hours and it magically turns white again. Obviously leave the room windows open for this one but its amazing! Hopefully it helps. Great for brightening around sinks / showers really turns from black to white!
You show your real life, I feel like it's contributed to your immense success and that is so wonderful! Your life still looks so posh to the rest of us 😍😍😍 Thanks for more inspiration to get cleaning, wish me and my kiddos weren't ill at the moment!
Also, another hack - use kitchen strong foil and lay it on the bottom of your oven, then change it from time to time. No need to use harsh chemicals. And cleaning your mugs - you could use bicarbonate of soda the same way you used astonish 🥰
Hi, for your window mould try HG mould spray. You can get it in amazon or b&q. I promise no rubbing required!just spray and leave for about 10 mins. All will be gone ❤
Thank you for the video I was literally getting myself down yesterday as I have similar jobs that need doing, thinking I was the only one. Wondering how these superwoman do it all! But its nice to know the reality that probably everyone has these areas and it's best to make a day of it to get it all done. Although I dont no where your energy comes from 😂 I would had stopped after the kitchen 😂
it’s amazing how satisfying it is watching how dirty things get cleaned 🧼. one thing i do different with my dirty cups is put some bleach in them and fill with water, leave them for few hours, then rinse, they come out so clean 🧽!
After watching a stroller review on RU-vid last week RU-vid suggested your baby must have video and now I’m hooked! I love your videos, they really do get me motivated to clean and you’ve introduced me to some great products, thank you!
I use magic erasers for coffee cups and they work amazing. They are also great for baseboards, spots on walls or doors, marker or crayon spots. Or just about anything 🤣
I am so confused, I will soon buy a dishwasher.I wash everything by hand with warm wather, dishsoap and a norml green dishsponge. My cups have never been stained. So I'm wondering if dishwasher are not so good at cleaning the dishes(?).
Sooo satisfying!!! I totally need do all my washing machines. For your windows, try moisture sealing primer. You can find for the window one or just use bathroom one. It meant for very moist places. Also keep your shutters open fully day time to let that area to air. I hope that helps. To answer your question: all the cushions’s covers around the house, sofa’s as well. Thanks for your video. Great motivation! Xxxx
Keeping it real!, thanks for showing it as it really is, that is very honest and helpful. The hair down and no gloves doesnt bother me at all, lol.... well that is as real as it gets, lol and you do have a lovely home and very family conscious and caring which is just lovely to see, Great tips, thank you...yet again!!, :)
Loved this video! We've just had to pay out to have our tumble dryer repaired as we weren't cleaning the bottom filter, we had no idea! We have a mould problem in our bedroom too, I've just bought an English Ivy as apparently they help to break down mould particles, fingers crossed!
Snap! Started my decluttering a few days ago and went a bit OTT on weekend but everything's lovely and clean! I did my washing machine too! Everything smells fresh and clean of Zoflora!Loved your cleaning tips and deffo picked up a few tips! Thank u Emily!🤗
Laura Cullen hi hun i just checked out your channel love your content its quite similar to emilys so i had to subscribe to you 🥰 hope you can support my channel too ❤️
I find an old dish washing brush (the kind with a long handle) works wonders for cleaning the compartment where the detergent drawer goes.. besides a toothbrush and a tiny old bottle cleaning brush.. between the three of them, I manage to get into all the hard-to-reach nooks and crannies .. Thanks for the great content! Love watching :)
Love this type of video, gets me so motivated but I should probably not watch these at 9.30pm as I just want to do it now but will refrain (this once)!. A little hack I do is use a dishwashing tablet in my washing machine on a hot wash. It really cleans it and the colour of the water is disgusting so it is visibly doing a good job, I do this once every month or so. Xx
Watching this was so theraputic Emily , loved it. x I use a dishwasher tablet to clean the washing machine and pipes. Pop it in the drum and turn to hottest cycle. x
I've loved your shutters and we are slowly doing up our house. I'm now questioning of shutters are a good idea as we already have some issues with condensation 😬 I love the honesty though Emily 😍
I do love the look of shutters and it's probably the black out blind that we have in between that doesn't help. Thank you so much for watching Lauren xx
@@mrsemilynorris Definitely something I will look into when we finally get around to sorting all that out. Although we will be replacing all the windows anyway x
I’m so inspired, thank you! I usually do extractor fan, oven and top of wardrobes as much as radiators and scerting boards. In a house with 4 kids there is so much to do and so little time so I like to have a list and make sure I can tick off my one or two tasks every month ❤️
Thanks for the tips, my tumble dryer is overdue it's deep clean. Our washing machine is on its last legs and so I'm not to worried about deep cleaning that. We have issues with mould around our windows I've brought a Karcher window vac and that is helping a lot with the condensation. I can't use a lot of the mould cleaners because of how strong they smell, however I recently tried the Dettol brand mould and mildew cleaner I've found it works brilliantly and doesn't have a really strong smell. The smell it does have kind of reminds me of a swimming pool xx
Are clothes dryers vented to the outside where you live? Here in the U.S., there's usually a 4" or larger flexible pipe running to the outside to vent a dryer. That way, humidity is not pumped into the house. There are still lint filters on dryer like the first one you pulled out. I've never seen a second filter like the big one you pulled out.
I recently cleaned the kitchen sink pipes on the inside, it was disgusting! I actually removed the pipes with a screwdriver, gave it a good clean and placed them back. Is this something you do? Or how do you keep your sink pipes clean (and other pipes)? You could do a deep cleaning video Part 2, these are my suggestions: oven, pipes, the inside of the toilet tank, behind fridge, radiators/heating units, etc.
Hi, thanks for your videos, they are very motivated! I was wondering if I would like to be more ecological friendly, what should I use? See, I am try to reduce the amount of plastic and chemicals in our house. Do you have any ideas? Many thanks
So so satisfying Emily!! Loved this video and love your top! I use magic erasers for inside my mugs!! All of these jobs in this video I have set reminders in my phone to do every three months. After each wash I remove and dry the washing machine drawer and set it upside down on my work top overnight and keep the washing machine door open overnight too.....all really helps against mould! I love that black cilit bang!! Ps not sure if you cleaned the "roof" of your drawer compartment of your washing machine....I missed this out on mine before....it gets mouldy too as the water comes out of the wee holes here. I also hoover inside the compartment of my lint collector on my dryer! Would love to see more videos like these!! Xx
Oh my god the dishwasher 😷! You are a trooper, I have never done a deep clean on mine and I can only imagine the horrors within 😱! I have a similar problem with condensation in my bedroom. I have a squeegee that I use on them every morning, I just open out the windows and flick the water off, then dab any excess water with an old towel. Just takes a few seconds and I am noticing so much less mould since I started.
I didn’t know about the filter in the tumble dryer until last week when the whole garage smelt of smoke!! Sooooo lucky it didn’t catch fire! I’ll be cleaning this monthly now 👍🏻
Hey Emily, I never knew you could get a powder to clean your mugs out. I've always done it with baking soda and vinegar. It works really well too. You just have to scrub it's out. Hope you try it out, I figure that it's cost effective. :)
Hey Emily thanks for the great video, just an observation about the dish washer cleaner, I seem to have read on the instruction that you don't need to pierce the lid. all the very best.
Oh my goodness 😱 I have just seen that my tumble drier has the same filter .... I didn't know 🤦♀️ thanks for the video I thought my drier was packing in. Should read the instructions 🤣😂
Hy, i use a Steamer to clean the Windows and the mould goes right away with no cemicals, you can use it for anything... bathroom, toilet also for the litle spaces on the Washer. Great Video. Thank you ❤
The window in our master bath does that! It also shows up on the ceiling right above it. We had a plumber out to check it out and make sure there were no leaks and he said everything looked good and he actually suggested an electric dehumidifier for our bathroom. We haven’t gotten it yet but I think that’s our next step.
Love this vid (also hated it as I now have a longer cleaning list this week 😆) Never knew about the second filter on the tumble dryer ! Just opened mine and WOW 😳 Do you use dishwasher tablets?? If you do the salt and rinse aid are already incorporated into the tablet. If not is it cheaper to buy rinse aid and salt separately? Does it still wash the dishes well? Thanks 😊 x
