Hi Ronny Dahl watched your video AWSOME greetings from RSA. I just want to say to the guys who think the land Cruiser is not good im front South Africa and the Land Cruiser is the only 4x4 vehicle used by the farmers so if the tractor breaks use the cruiser. Thanks Ronny keep up the those excellent 4x4 videos. JD
yeah that Jeep just keeps on surprising everyone, he would have winched a few of the boys up in this trip if they wont so heavy. We were worried the stuck cruiser would just pull the jeep instead.
very true, in most cases that would help a lot. Can only think or one situation of the top of my head the light weight will be a problem; Floating during river crossings. got to say those Jeeps have unreal wheel travel, 2 inch lift on a Jeep is like a 3 inch lift on a cruiser!
I reckon it's a much of a muchness my old 97 hilux was good because it didn't weigh much but some times you need the extra weight to get some grip. Does the jeep drive nicely and any problems with it? I've only towed one Subaru on a beach :p
***** I'm not trying to knock awd, lets get that clear lol. not all 2wd are open diff, not all awd are open diff, some have lsd. but to keep it level, lets say they're all open diff. front or a rear wheel comes off the ground in an awd (with all three diffs being open) the wheel off the ground will spin and the rest will do nothing. do the same in a 2wd, IF the wheel that comes off the ground isn't a driven one, the 2wd will keep going forward. but there's too many variables, like if a driven wheel comes off the ground with a 2wd, well then its not going anywhere either... or a steep hill, say no wheels ever lift, the awd will have better traction as it has 4 wheels being driven, but what i am trying to say is it has more chance of letting a wheel spin if any one of them lift. don't know if i'm making sense.. not trying to knock them, but i have seen a 2wd go further than a awd, if there is wheel lifting involved. but if its say flat sand, the awd will go further.
Hi Ronny I have a 2008 79 series that did burn a touch of oil in its early days and it has done 158000 kms, I also have a 2013 79 that is slowly getting fitted out with all the mods, these trucks love the synthetic oil
as usual, awesome vid!!! and man, that JK is a surprising bit of machinery, almost no lift and A/T tyres and still won't miss a beat. Thanks for good entertainment.
No worries mate, thanks for the feedback. The JK will be sporting M/T's in September sometime. I think he fills his fuel tank with redbull or something it just goes anywhere!
Ronny Dahl I actually went from M/T's to A/T's on both the 80 series and the Hilux, just too much bitumen in between tracks to warrant the expense of the M/T's.
I wish so many people would quit hating on FJs. Jeeps are the go to in the states but no reason to hate on someone cause they chose a different brand. The brand shouldn't matter. It should be about the love for offroad
Great Video mate. Very impressed with the Jeeps performance. One day I wouldnt mind having one, But for now Im more than happy with the little Suzuki Sierra! Especially on the beach.
Thanks mate. Suzuki Sierra! Thats another 4WD that just goes anywhere with limited mods. Brother in-law has one for spraying swamp land weeds and its pretty much unstoppable.
great video I came on here looking for vids of 76 series dual cabs and wagons this was perfect now I just have to have one asap! Loved the drone footage, looked fantastic and gave you a clear idea of the area you are cruising, I used to hit up Harvey and Brunswick monthly when I lived in Bunbury with my old GQ 4.2D always was a blast
Cheers from Saudi Arabia Ronny Great Channel, and great videos as always :) I'm just really surprised how so many subscribers are interested in sh*tty channels where people f*rt on cam and get 99.99K subscribers ! while ignoring some serious channels where effort, money, time, gear and the most important thing is : you guys jeopardize your lives to put together something valuable for us ! Excuse my French, and thanks Subscribed
Enjoyed it heaps, thanks for a great vid. My mate has a lwb jk jeep so I'll send him a link to this vid.. I'm sure he'll enjoy it! We're from Brisbane and there's heaps of great spots around SE Qld for 4wheelers!
I am from New Jersey US. I can only drool looking and listening to your rigs. Awesome video awesome rigs I wish we would get at least half of the rigs you have there.. Keep it up good work.. Those Yotas could make anyone have an orgasm with their roar lol. I hope to go visit the out back and wheel there.
Deakin Allen cheers for the feedback, with the 6 cylinder Hdj79r cruisers you'd be best to check out "car advice.com" for things to lookout for. Perhaps be more careful with the amount of km on the clock and old ex-mining rigs. If you look at the early Vdj79r 2007-2009 they can have a problem with burning oil however if you keep an eye on it its no real issue, just carry spare oil with you at all times and do regular checks which should really be done anyway.
Mitchell Trapp the Frame on the rear Little Bear made himself with mandel bent 2.5 inch tube and rolled galvanized steel for the sides and center. The canvas is 18 ounce extra heavy duty Australian canvas made by "Better Canvas" BTW his entire rear set up will be for sale soon including the awning. any interest just reply to this comment ;)
Ronny Dahl I have got no experience with off roading just a quick question for if i take my truck out on some water that can reach up half my door will i get some water in my car
Best vid so far as another person said why not a tv show? just saying, would love to see that 79 on the other side of oz Thanks mate looking forward to the next video.
Hi Ronny what size tyres are the JK and last cruiser running? would be interesting to know if I would be able to make it up some of the stuff. Awesome video, the website is really informative too.
Hey there mate, Top quality videos! Love the angles you are getting and I am enjoying the places you travel I am wanting to buy a 79 series landcruiser v6 because I am still on my P plates Could you give me some tips on what to look for and how to find a good one? Thanks
Hi Ronny Dahl thanks for the AWESOME vids watching them from Kenya and loving it. About to buy some tyres for my 79 series and wanted to know what size tyre you and little bear have on your cars? Thanks and keep it up
thanks Ndathi Kaniaru we both have 315/75/R16 Mud tyres which is pretty much the same as 35/12.5/R16. You will need at least a 3inch lift to fit them, I'd recommend going 3.5inch lift with 0 offset rims to avoid rubbing issues.
hey mate, nice vids. just wondering who made the frame and who canvassed the canopy on the 'top spot' cruiser ute? im looking at gettin my rodeo a canvas canopy much similiar thanks
I assume you guys invested in a small drone with a GoPro or something on it for the aerial shots? Unless you hired a helicopter for the day! The aerial shots are brilliant and add to the feel of the vids..
Great vid. Top quality and beautiful scenery! Great editing also! Question for ya the 70 ute with all the lights; what roof rack is that and what lights is he running? Is it an ARB rack? Any info on that set up would be much appreciated!
Roof rack is Track Lander, they are very light weight. I have the same brand roof rack on my Dual cab also. They have plenty of mounting options just like the Rhino rack systems.
I am surprised that the trucks with the flat bed or the full camper on the back , dont have issues with the departure angle ........ That is a lot of material behind the rear wheels ........ I guess it is different in AU vs where I am in the US .... I love these trucks , but out my way , they would bottom out the on the rear overhang all the time ....
+Norman Murray they do drag the rear now and then and do make some sections a lot more difficult, just got to drive them a bit careful sometimes. Not too much of an issues in sand or soft clay/mud.
Not as yet +Bill Kotraba I'm sure there are quick disconnects made for the 70 series cruisers but so far I don't feel the need as the diff lockers make up for the wheel lifting.
I dont quite understand all the hate Jeep's are getting, personally I wouldnt own one as I like my Toyotas but they (Wranglers) are one of the most capable 4WDs out there...
The reason they get shit on is because they are made like garbage. Compare the chassis next to a crusier or patrol and they are crap. The only good thing they have going for them is lockers. But then cruisers come with lockers so why buy a jeep.
Sorry flight2k5 you are a classic example of a Land Cruiser owner who thinks there 4x4 is the best thing out there and has no idea what they are talking about... The Jeep JK unlimited in this video is a base model and doesn't come factory fitted with a front or rear diff-lock or even a center cross lock.. Sorry
these guys not in a club, dont know much, all too fast, down hill,??,jeep must be basic,it should of craled down there no probs, all the toyotas had brakew on,not good, ever heard of brake modulation.or a decent low range??.
