Really nice job especially the touch of gold gilding wax on the knobs. Always fun watching you work your magic on a mid century piece. Since you did ask for opinions I would have left the rectangular trim molding that is on the middle of each middle drawer the same stain color as the rest of the dresser. I think it might have integrated the two different finishes better. Like yourself my favorite design style is mid century modern. And I'm a purest when it comes to keeping a piece as original as possible. Combining a painted surface with a stained surface is something I am trying to understand and like. Looking forward to your next episode. Thank you
@CedarPineDesigns
@CedarPineDesigns Год назад
Thank you so much for the compliment and honesty. I agree with you totally on the square trim and staining it to flow the color with the paint. My only concern was it being if different wood species, it will definitely not match the veneer color so I just decided to paint. But you hit the nail in the head. Thank ton for your input

Beautiful 💚 Oh, I'm absolutely with you. I just sanded and sanded and sanded a mid century teak table down to bare wood. My hands were tingling after I finished sanding. I love your leg hack. Definitely will try that. For an oil finish, which I like a lot with mid century pieces, give odie's oil a try. It dries really fast and smells great. Love your videos! @@CedarPineDesigns I have never done any of this... You make it seem accessible (not easy!!!!) possible to learn. (Which I hope you take as a sincere compliment!) my question is about the sand blaster... 1. Why not use it everywhere on everything (remember I'm new and stupid about this stuff.. So laughing at me is ok--as long as you tell me why I'm stupid so I am not doomed to remain that way!) 2. Is the sandast tool crazy expensive?
@CedarPineDesigns
@CedarPineDesigns Год назад
@@davemarsteller8377 thank you. Not a stupid question at all. The sand blast method is a messy process so the minimum amount on detailed areas is perfect. Also, it will still need to be sanded after so just sanding the flat surfaces is just a bit faster. The entire sand blaster set up is pretty inexpensive if you already have the air compressor. I paid like $150 give or take for the sand blast gun, a spray tent and the blast material. I hope this helps
