Elegant and so sophisticated. It was, in my opinion, horrible before you started. You turned that piece into an amazing piece of furniture! I love it.

Wow, wow, wow, Amy. Yes, what a happy accident with your first go at this dresser. It’s just beautiful. The natural wood top and the added decorative piece in the colors you selected are perfection. You are quite the artist. ❤

That green paint and the over glaze was called “antiquing”. A very popular finish for DIYers in the late 1960’s and early 70’s.

Tip from woodworkers here: You can use up to 600 grit after applying the sealing coats. You don’t want to sand the wood past 220 for staining or applying laquer/polyurethane. The wood grain should be sanded to 180. Once applying your finishing medium then you use the higher grit to polish it out. Hope this helps you!

This is really pretty..alotbetter than that green monstracity! As far as using it to seal paint, maybe ask Angirfrom Transcend Furniture Gallery. She uses a lot of Odie’s Oil products. Also, how long does it take for the chrome and other metallic markers to dry?

Some DYSer spent hours creating that green transformation. I'm sure it was a looker back in the day. I find your result sort of gaudy and too feminine--but attractive in that Hollywood Regency style way. I wish I could see it in person. I think it would grow on me. Fifty years from now, what will become of it? Regardless, I appreciate you taking the risk with this piece. It will be loved by a new owner.

Absolutely stunning! When I saw you applying all those colors I thought it was absolutely ugly -- how could anyone want to buy that? Well, I ended up saying "Oh, ye of little faith" because it was beyond beautiful and original and wonderful. I have to compliment you on your artistic ability. Keep it up! You are absolutely fantastic. What beautiful work! BRAVA!

Dayum, girlfriend!! You worked MAGICK with this piece of miscolored furniture! I am VERY impressed and plan to steal every one of your ideas, especially that stunning decal. We live in litigious times, so I have a question: When putting a piece up for sale do you need written or verbal permission from the decal/ornament seller before turning the piece over to the buyer? Or -- once you pay for the item -- is it yours to use as you wish?

It’s a nice design & your work is excellent but this is from the 1970’s and it gives me the “been there, done that” vibe personally. The problem is that these are such statement pieces that they tend to dominate and “unbalance” a room. But your skills are great! It’s not your fault that it’s just not my style.
