Frank, the notches on the top of your sawhorses are to insert a 2X4. Lay a couple in those notches and you can cut straight thru sheet goods without moving them. The 2X4s will be sacraficial and need replacing occasionally. Sure makes those long rip cuts easier.
Having smaller storage bins are such game changers! we switched to the small ones when we moved into our first house and it makes everything so usable and easy to get everything down. It’s like, go to the beach and just stick the beach box in the car lol so easy
Great job! Tip: cutting 2x4s the same length, stack 2 together, make sure ends are flush, adjust blade depth to cut about 1/4” into bottom board, measure and cut. Remove board that was cut to length, put another board under the board with cut line, flush the ends and cut again, repeat.
Just found your channel. I have to take a moment to give you guys some kudos. Seeing the kids run around while you were making these shelves warms my heart. I feel allowing them to watch and be part of this process sets them up to be self-sufficient adults. Good job to you both. Subscribed and liked for the algorithm.
I have been watching videos as I am getting ready to build some shelving in our garage. While I have seen several good videos, this was great! I will be using some of the ideas I came up with from your video. Thanks!
We are getting ready to build shelves like this in our shed so I was looking forward to this video. I love it so much! They look awesome! I'm even more excited about building the shelves and organizing bins now!
I love you guys Britney every body who was hating on them getting married “too early” are biting their tongue!!! Still together and still happy 😊🌈 I’ve been watching you since I was in highschool and you only had aria you’ve always been silly and now with the right person you can express yourself!!! ❤️
I love your videos. Y'all are amazing and as far as paying for an extra storage building.Well we went through a David Ramsey course and he says its a waste of money. We sold and gave things away or trashed our storage we saved 120.00 a month.Just a thought blessings .Our family sends y'all blessings and hugs💖
I love this video!! Also I just wanted to say that I've been watching you since you were pregnant with Aria and wow I hope to be as good of a mum as you are one day. I also hope and pray to find myself a man like Frank! You two are wonderful together and I hope you and you're family are doing well during this time. Sending all my love to my favourite RU-vidrs all the way from Australia 🥰🥰
I built almost the same kind of shelf's the only thing I made sure I could put two bins on top of each other for more storage. Spacing matters. Nice Job.
I'm just seriously amazed by how much Frank knows how to build. Frank, do you just jump into a project and just learn along the way? Or have you grown up learning how to do all this? You are a man of many talents!🤗👏, I hope you treated yourself to some nice cold 🍺🍻after this!
This is definitely a great idea to do in my 10x10 storage building. We just moved in so there is no organization to it. I can use 2 walls for shelves and label everything.
Nice work guys. When using pocket holes, you might consider screwing from the outside into the longer end of the 2x4 rather than from inside into the end grain if that makes sense.
That was a fantastic job 👍 it's got my juices going especially with the lockdown thank you so much I needed a shove and your video was it. Robbie from Huyton Liverpool UK
I think Frank should have definitely gave the shelves more support. I understand you can stand on them but the constant weight over time is also what will pull them down. I was most excited to see how you organized everything.
With them being screwed into the studs and also the vertical supports he has there, they wont go anywhere with that span. Unless he plans on putting engine blocks on them they'll be just fine.
Omg! Frank, the shelves turned out so awesome, im very impressed!!! And they way you and Brit organized everythjng was so satisfying, i loooove organization so this video was everything! Thank you both for keeping us entertained during "quarintine"!!!😃
We have the same garage setup (3-car, but stacked), and I HATE it. When we were planning this house, I thought we could convert that space into a useable room and add square-footage to the house, but we've not done that. Now I wish we'd opted for a traditional side-by-side 3-car garage. We use that space for a gym area, but it gets hot as hell in the summer and unuseable for that purpose. We end up working out in the home office instead, so it's been a bust. My husband is a novice woodworker, so I might suggest we just pull our "home gym" out and have him build storage like you have thus giving him more space to do his craft. It turned out SO FREAKING NICE, Frank and Britney.
Well done! I like the interaction with, I assume husband and wife. I like that the wife will ask for clarification on the terminology that her husband may use e.g. OBG, plywood. Your video was entertaining, fast past with clear description for every stage in the construction of your garage shelves. You included your children. It was very cool watching the entire family contributing to this project. You guys gave me some ideas in building shelves for my garage. Thanks! Blessings to your family!
Great job! Specially for working alone. The only thing is I would have measured the space between the shelves to allow for either 1 or 2 boxes stack. There's some wasted space that would probably allow for one row of boxes.
This was beyond satisfying to watch! Frank is such a handy and terrific guy! I am so happy for you both..you honestly make the perfect team!! The garage looks awesome and so organized. Great job guys!!! I loved the making of the thumbnail footage too
I’m gonna show my parents this because they need to organize their garage like you guys did!! We still have my childhood swings to in there, because they’re always saving it 😂😂 love you guys and all of your videos ❤️
Haha you guys are great! I am so OCD with my garage storage I insisted on the bins being color coded. Red for Xmas, orange Halloween, blue for miscellaneous… and oh yes the labels, I insisted on the same font! Haha my wife was so over it. Great job… And send the kids over anytime they wanna clean a garage!😎👍
I loved this so much! I’ve been watching you since the beginning and let me tell you, you and frank were meant to be together. And I’m so happy for it. 😌💕💕
Cool trick to is to paint the wood with chalkboard paint then u can label the wood with what is on the shelf and if it changes u can whipe it off and change it
Thank you for this right now my brother and his friends are helping my mom with clean the garage clean out thank you for the beautiful idea Jah bless your beautiful family
Hola, acabo de descubrir sus vídeos y me encantó que son una pareja muy cooperativa , felicidades así es más fácil el trabajo, me acabo de suscribir ,les mando saludos desde Cuernavaca Morelos, Mexico🥰😊
Your relationship is a true example that no matter how many kids you have and how busy your life is you can still make time for each other as a couple. My husband and I now have "date nights" too once the kids are in bed whether its watching a movie, eating dinner together, working on something for the house. Thanks for showing that in your vlogs. ❤
Nice job, sturdy construction. Some unintentional criticism. Measuring the tubs heights then build shelves to meet those tubs could have given you another shelf, less wasted space above each row of tubs. Maybe you someday anticipate larger tubs. Regardless I bet your happy to have organized storage.
