@garylancaster3995 I've seen newspaper articles from late 1890's of scientists predicting ice caps will soon be gone and it has continued till present day, there are hundreds of articles spanning 134 years of failed predictions by scientists. One thing is certain, humans are terrible at making accurate predictions. Another issue is that predictions have become profitable in more recent times.
Indeed. They are posting the feels like temps, not the actual temps--to make it seem worse than it actually is. It can be 99F with high humidity in Houston, TX for weeks & no one bats an eye. Why are they whining? Do the homes, vehicles, schools, & stores not have AC in MA, NY, PA, IL, etc?? It must be a slow news week in the NE US. What do you want to bet that they are seeking federal funds for their hyped up 'heatwave'?
Really, and if you really understood history and weather, you'd realize that your statement is extremely flawed. Try a little relook at history. Maybe, keep it simple like maybe the history of air conditioning and refrigeration......😂😂😂😂
You may want to check the number of Record temps set in most parts of the world, month after month now. Icecaps melting fast. Stay in moms basement where it's nice and cool
Lol@'BREAKING NEW'! More like "News Flash" summer is hot--& everyone already knows it!. They don't bat an eye when it is 99+F with high humidity in Houston, TX for weeks during the summer, but they freak-out & hype their heat when it is in the low 90s (actual temp) & falsely call it "Extreme Heat" & a "Heatwave".
Lord forbid people have to deal with summer heat!!!!! It’s the most horrific front page news we must hear about!! The news has nothing to cover so we have to exaggerate summer temps. That’s crazy af!!!
I'm from California, central valley, near Fresno. We get numerous days over 103 to 108 for weeks. It's hot. But, we don't get the type of humidity you folks get back east. And I feel that humidity even in the 90's is a lot worse. Stay cool, stay hydrated and no matter what, be glad you ain't in Texas and Florida... Nature's hating on them, send them " thoughts and prayers" and relax....
I don't have a problem with humidity in Texas....maybe there's just too many wimps. Most of the Californians who moved here to escape your state don't complain about it much. So prayers for your higher taxes and kiss Newsom for us.
Why don't they schedule high school and college graduations INDOORS in an enclosed facility, like an air-conditioned Auditorium? Why aren't schools air-conditioned now?
I’m from the Coachella Valley and all of a sudden I am not jealous of the North Eastern U.S. states weather.. We had a wonderful temperature of 100F yesterday 6/19/24, never in late June do we have these kind of temps we’re usually cooking in the one teens 113-116 around this time.. Not to count out the humidity, oh we don’t wanna do that, humidity usually hits us around the 4th of July.. Stay cool stay safe people, DRINK LOTS OF WATER…🫡🫵🏽🤣
It’s been really hot here in Chicago. There’s a lot of years I don’t even make it to the pool in June because it’s not hot enough. I’ve already been there three times this month probably today and tomorrow also. There was one June I remember my mom went to the Blues fest in Chicago and was wearing her light down coat. It was cold. Not this year! 🥵
Humidity. Eastern folks get humidity... Western folks very rarely. Makes even the mid 80's miserable. I've been east, not my cup of Joe.... Snow, hurricanes, tornadoes, humidity, flooding... Seriously, you Eastern folks are whack....🤗
South eastern Texas resident here. We experience 100°+ weather during summer. With humidity levels that can reach up to 80-90% and we survive. Also I'm from the north east so I know that temperatures that high are not very common but this right here is a gross exaggeration. It has gotten to over 100° a couple of times when I still lived in the north east and everything was ok. So 96° weather with a bit of humidity isn't the end of the world.
I’m just waiting to hear about the complete blackout caused by the heat and lack of infrastructure to handle air conditioning. I grew up in the south and this is about the right temperature for this time of year through August. And then we go into hurricane season.
I just lost 10% of starter plants to a 31F low frost. Silly me to cut it so close to the forecast 35. Upper 90s for a couple days coming up but damn, the ground can use the heat. Oh, I fry too but here above the 45th in the West, it's another world on the same planet. Did my time in Phoenix, KC and L.A. so sympathies. (Gee, no room to mention winters)
Keep forgetting most states don’t end school year on June 1st , 90 day summers were awesome, how long are summer holidays now?? No snow days n Arizona folks
They have the copy already written. They are just waiting for the first person over 70 to die. Why don't they claim spring or fall weather related deaths?
Last night I was sitting in a tiki bar on the Jersey Shore a block from the beach and as the sun was setting, I needed a hoodie. Spare us the theatrics and give us the straight facts so that we can keep ourselves safe and save the paranoia for low-information MSNBC and CNN viewers.
