Hey Guys! I’ve got an EXTREME Clean With Me to share with you today! We’re currently in the middle of filming a DIY Makeover on the Playroom...so the house is a complete disaster! It was making me tear up when you were talking about your depression cause I completely understand - I am about the same age as you and I have been going through it my whole life. I finally decided about 2 years ago to seek help and although it never truly gets better, medication and/or therapy can really help deal with day to day life. Here for you! keep on fighting, this world is better place with you in it.

emily, i hear you. it’s one reason i follow megan. i don’t know how she does what she does, as i can hardly function. for 20 years (i’m 48) i told myself it wouldn’t get better and if anyone told me it would, i’d feel like punching them in the face (not really, but the anger i’d feel when people don’t GET it). since i’ve removed my mother out of my life (a toxic, overbearing narcissist) i’ve been feeling the best i’ve felt in 2 decades. i hope you can pinpoint your trauma and work from there… i’ve been on medication since 1992 and i can’t honestly tell you it’s helped. i think my body is just so used to it that maybe it’s immune? each person is different but i understand the hell and never ending hopelessness. i don’t feel that anymore. i’ve worked my ass off in therapy for 19 years as a result of emotional, verbal and sexual abuse. i’m blessed to be able to afford therapy, because not many can. but my mental health is most important to me. i’m passed the daily, unbelievable struggle, even though i still have a hard time. i dunno, just want to give you some hope. but when depression is so severe, nothing anyone says helps. i guess i just want to validate your pain and instead of trying to fight it (it’s exhausting) try to just be in the moment and kind to yourself. i’m much better with that. sending you 💕 and healing.

Unfortunately, medication is not a recommended treatment plan for me. I’m so glad that you have found something that helps you function though 💜

I’m so happy to hear that you are considering some kind of therapy to help you with your depression. I really hope you start feeling better. Depression and anxiety can really suck the joy out of life especially during the holiday season, which can the lead to a cycle of guilt and more depression. Thank you for talking about depression and how it affects you. I started therapy this year and it's the best thing I have ever done for myself. There is no self care routine, productive action or item that can have as much impact as therapy. The hardest part is reaching out and starting but, once you do, you'll see an immediate effect - knowing you have help and professional support makes a HUGE difference. I haven't used the service you mentioned but I would say don't be afraid to shop around until you find a therapist that you really mesh with. It is completely normal to change therapists if you don't hit it off so don't worry about it. Good luck and just do it! Right now 🌞💖💖💖💖

I’ve never tried that before, but I have been going to counseling since the summertime and it is all remote due to COVID but I still have found it very helpful. We do FaceTime or zoom and I actually look forward to it. I’m thinking of you during this time and hoping that soon this passes for you 💕

Hi Megan. You have created such a beautiful home! As far as depression goes, I’ve found the best remedy for me was counseling and medication. It’s no different than any other physical condition and doesn’t just “go away”. I’ve had days when I couldn’t get out of bed, so I applaud you for powering through and doing your best - which may look very different on some days than on others. Wishing you the very best.

I enjoy watching you. You remind me of a young me. I am a grandma now. I used heard you are depressed. Your a good mother and keep moving. 2020 was awful for everyone. I am depressed also. I live alone so it’s very depressing. So you are not the only one. Just keep smiling and take care of your children.....they need you. 👍🏼. Things always gets better.

I'm sorry you're struggling but I think its super amazing that you're sharing the fact that you are struggling with us. I know it has to be helping others to not feel so alone dealing with their depression because its something that affects so many of us. Its nothing to be ashamed of or to hide. You are absolutely right about the humidifier. I bought vicks one as well for my daughter who was dealing with covid and it really helped her a lot. She was able to sleep better it just made the air more better to breathe. Thank God she is over covid. Love your video, new subscriber here.

I think I just fell more in love with your personality. I have bpd and so I understand the random periods of depression and sometimes nothing triggers it, it just happens and no matter what I do I can't pull myself out of it til it's passed. Until the next time an it's on going. You talking about your struggle shows your strength. And making us aware of a possible place that we can go to get help and asking others their experience is soooo beautiful to me. Let's ppl know they are not alone an that there is a way out we just have to keep on reaching out even if all we do is get out of bed or role over to a different position in bed it's the little things we can do to not give up until we can bounce back an run that marathon. Depression is real, especially this time of year. And then throw in 2020. December, January and February are tough for depression. Take it one day at a time, yes talking to someone will help get you through. It will also take some of the pressure off your family and their worry for you. God bless.

I been going through depression for a long time and I have been at my happiest since I started journaling, taking it one day at time, and trying not to control every situation and I had to stop taking on others peoples problems. Been working on self/love growth for about a year and it has tremendously helped with my depression.

I tried a virtual counselor this fall through BetterHelp (found them through my employer) and it was life changing. I’ve been to therapists before with both good and bad results. My counselor this time has been just what I needed. I wish you all the best. I know firsthand how debilitating depression and anxiety can be. Love your videos!

Depression is so crippling. I have dealt with depression and anxiety on and off my whole life. My goes in waves and postpartum is always difficult for me. Thankful for modern medicine, supportive family and ultimately my Savior. You’re not alone! Counseling can be life changing

i love writing lists and game plans. i might not tick everything off but i find it helpful and therapeutic to just sit and have a coffee, write it down, get it all out. then i look over it and i get a clear look at everything that needs doing, what the priorities are, how to manage my time eg i can oversee cooking a meal & clean the kitchen since i need to be in there anyway. game plans help get my ideas on paper. then i take breaks/rewards by watching yt & any ideas or hints i get, i note down on my list or plan. most important game plan is HOW TO COPE DURING DEPRESSION EPISODE. this is in an ongoing notebook cos im continually getting better ideas. the game plan is really just contingencies. ie frozen food meals; one load of laundry only; online and delivered groceries- whatever you come up with that works for you that includes A LOT of rest. i typically don’t get out of bed for days so my plan is to not let things build up. this includes using paper plates to keep kitchen cleaner. it’s bad but i will get well sooner if the house hasn’t completely turned into a bomb site 🖤 i also get my buddy on board. we wear the same clothes every day i am unwell. each night, those clothes are washed and dried so can wear next day so laundry doesn’t build up. whatever you have to do and no judgment 🖤

Wow, you were right with the satisfaction factor. Awesome results. Praying for your depression issues. I deal with the same thing. The long lockdown or self imposed isolation from the public has taken it's toll on me too. My choice has been Rx under my docs supervision. It's so much better than it was. We each have to discover what works best for ourselves. Now to get my home back in order to start 2021 with a clear mind and clean house. Thanks for your inspiration. I am amazed at your energy! I feel the same way about the dishwasher! I tend to do dishes like you do. I always make my bed it makes the room feel cleaner and make it looks more organized! Its like i dont want to do anyrhing untill i get rid of the dirty dishes but i cant deal with the dirty dishes untill the clean ones are put away. So then im irritated and a simple task becomes something I dread because I'm now forced to do it out of my prefered order. I know its irrational but i think that's why clean dishes in the dishwasher when there are dirty ones in the sink creates such a negative response.

I enjoy putting all the dishes in the dishwasher more than having to take everything out of it when it's clean. And I've always done my dishes the way your mother does, but without soaking them in water, just scrub everything first and then rinsing all together :P You look like a really good person, Megan, and I love your motivating videos, so I hope you find help with your depression and have a great Christmas! : )

I am really glad that you are getting help with depression. I was also in clinical depression for two years and I know how hard it can be to even seek help sometimes. Oh and on Turkey, we always wash the dishes with your mom's way 😁

What in the world is wrong with people that make them think it’s ok to criticize others so drastically?? You use the products and equipment you want to use!!!! Geeezzz!!!! I’m sorry you’re dealing with such heavy depression. I do too. Not like I used to. I don’t go down the black rabbit holes anymore. We found the right medication and the right counseling. It was looooonnngggg time coming. It’s trial and error. My faith serves me very well. Do what you have to do for YOU. I love your channel and I’ll say prayers for you.

Hey Megan! Great video! I never miss one of your videos. I never empty the dish washer, I never put the clean dishes away. I think would be a waste of time for me because I'm washing the dishes and cooking over again during the day and my kids keep grabbing them to eat so doesn't work for me. I always wash my dishes in a washing up bowl in the sink with lots of soapy water i think most people do in the uk plus i have a dishwasher to cus moms need all the help right 😉😉 its how we did it a home . I saw a counselor from age 3 until I was 18...a variety of them, so I’m very familiar with how it works. Unfortunately, it never worked for me as an adolescent. I rarely connected with any of the therapists my mom selected, and on the rare occasions that I did...my mother would breech patient confidentiality or, if the doctor refused to share information with her, she would make me switch therapists. It was a terrible experience. But, I’m hoping that it may be different as an adult.

I have a feeling we had similar mothers, I didn’t go to counselling until i was 26 so my mom didn’t breach my trust there but she would read through my msn messages my phone my diaries anything she could get her hands on and then use it against me. Or manipulate me into telling her things. I have really deep trust issues now from that. And im only learning how to have boundaries now at 28. I hope you can find something that helps and works for you too
