Nuno has been in my top 5 favorite guitarists since I was a child. Been listening to Extreme since the early 90s because my dad had great taste in music.
@@_Chipster oh I heard it release day. That solo had elements of some of his older riffs and solos off pornographiti and other albums and bits of Van Halen sprinkled in. The dude is a phenomenal musician and performer.
Nuno was always so great to see live. Their first album was awesome. I remember when it dropped. Plus this song is in the movie Bill and Teds excellent adventure.
Extreme is a great band that kind of got lost. You might also react to their "Get The Funk Out", "Decadence Dance", "Kid Ego" and I believe you know "More Than Words" but they also had a similar song with "Hole Hearted".
Angela this version of this song can be found on their album called "Take Us Alive : Boston 2009 ". The band also released the dvd of this show ( the video you just watched ). The guitar player is Nuno Bettencourt.
The whole band is underrated, but Nuno's playing really is on another level. A guitarist's guitarist. Listen to "Get The Funk Out" sometime, it's a fun song!
I just came across your channel a few days ago and have even had some binge-watching moments. You are by far the BEST in the "react" genre catagory on YT. I LOVE that you react to 99.9% of Gen-X'ers music. I was born in 1967 and I love your reactions to the 70's & 80's (any genre) and you REALLY appreciate the awesome music at that time. It sounds silly, but Gen-X is often overlooked; guess it's bcause we are a small generation. So when someone from a younger generation appreciates our era, it's heart-warming. I think this channel is going to do really well. ....I worked in radio for a few yrs. (Classic, Modern, Alternative Rock, R&B, Adult Contemporary stations). I would love to be added to your suggestion box of songs to react to. You have reacted to so many, so just ignore the ones that you've reacted to. It's so cool you did this one!! The album version is also excellent. Smoke Signals is another great one by them. Extreme is so underrated!! If you haven't done any Nightwish, or don't know of them, PLEASE consider doing some of their Wacken 2013 performances, like "Ghost Love Score", "Romanticide", and/or "Storytime", just to mention a few! Their lyrics can be a bit deep and abstract at times so don't overly fixate on them-- however, every song they played at Waken was absolute FIRE, and the production value is insane! Be forewarned though, the Nightwish army will come in droves to watch your reactions to them. So, be prepared! LOL
Great fun song. You could easily find the album version I'd think, but you could probably find a live version for your phone. Their name explains their music, extreme. You'll find all kinds of stuff on their albums if you get that far.
Yes, Extreme! I recommended this! Keep rocking this until the end of the world! And Gary, Nuno, Pat, and Kevin… I hope I bought you a bunch more new fans, brothers!!!
It's the same band , that song only features the singer & the guitarist. If you watch the video you will see the bass player & drummer goofing around holding up cigarette lighters like people do during ballads played at concerts.
*Since you mentioned classical music, you should check out "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure", because this song is played in a long scene, with "Beeth oven" (as they call him) plays keyboard (either to this or while this is played over it in the scene). I'm not into her music, but you probably didn't know that the lead guitarist also plays or played with Rihanna.*
Speaking of classical music, the studio version has a bit of Mozart's Turkish Waltz thrown in for good measure. And still has the killer string skipping guitar solo.
The kind of song, when you thought you had it nailed... well you have to go back from zero to work the cohesion with the rest of the band, and at this point you play it for thirty years, just to make sure you're a hundred percent comfortable when performing with backing vocals and all... And then... only then, you have a tiny little chance to get to sound just as good as those guys.
Oh you have one heck of a rabbit hole to go down with this band. Try Cupid's dead, He-Man woman hater, get the funk out an acute when I think you would like from there earlier days is Mama I don't want to go to school today
I think Mr Bettencourt's guitar performances has something to do with his nervous influx which seems to be above the average level...(without any academic knowledge though) !
@NoFeelinfMetal How good...so good. flag the boy bands and all the latest whatever they think is music... its not music. Nuno is a legend...enough said.
Honesty on my part again! I didn't like it! It doesn't jive with my personal musical taste! I may have requested this song before, and I didn't wait until Ladies Night, but I could not wait! It is a song by a beautiful singer from The UK named Venus singing the enigmatic and very existential song Windmills Of Your Mind! It is the best version of this song ever! Sayonara! Something else! If you want HEAVY ROCK, then listen to Scorpions singing Rock You Like A Hurricane, Metallica with Enter Sandman, Edgar Winter Group doing Frankenstein, Alice Cooper singing Schools Out and so many others I can't think of, and even if I could, it would take too long! Exit Stage Center!
