poverty, miles to school, ill family members , and yet these families don't seem bitter. The children continue to go to school, the surviving parents continue to put their children's needs above their own. It is said, that who you truly are, will show itself in the face of adversity. These people amaze and humble me with their spirit.
Missy Rabbit yeah, it makes me feel ashamed because I’m so ungrateful for the things I have yet these kids would die to have my life and die to be able to experience the life I have.
Man... Respects to you sir, the headmaster. He could have probably got a decent life teaching in the city but he commits to teaching in this school so that the next generation can have a chance to improve their lives.
In China, special scholarships and education programs are given to poor educators that require them to go back to their original villages and teach for 10 or 15 years to pay back what the government gave them.
@@sheg2291 Not necessarily. This offer is usually given to students from poor areas with the hopes that their education will improve the areas that they came from.
@@sheg2291 Depends, some overseas student is paid by their family, so they can do whatever they want, some are paid by government, they usually has very good grade, and they are required to keep high grade so gov will keep paying for them, they must go back to China after studie.
@@sheg2291 That kind of special programs last for more than 10 years. If you agree, you can sign a contrast with the government and the government then will pay the cost during your study the collage, after graduation you need to go back to your hometown or other poor areas to teach.
Did anyone else get super emotional when the kid said " My dream is to be a solider. Because a solider can protect the people and the country." I think it's more meaningful if you understand it in Chinese
especially when our gov failed to take care of these kids in poor area. But i do appreciate government's effort to provide enough education equipment for these children.
Yeah, yeah. Becoming a soldier and help the banditry-hooligan communist government to bully and invade little Taiwan and the South Seas. Taiwan, Japan, Korea and the US helped China develop when it decided to open up, hoping that a prosperous and advanced China would become a democratic regime. However, the Chinese are now ingrates, biting the hands which had fed them, and became an accursed bully. The CCP continues to brainwash its people with an anti-foreign sentiments, believing everyone is China's enemy and they rather embrace dictatorship than democracy because they need the CCP to protect them from invasion. The CCP also feeds them with an invading, bullying nationalistic sentiments - this is your mother's sovereignty, that's your granny's land, not to allow your daddy's balls being split apart. China people don't understand wealth and military power cannot earn respect and adoration.
I’m mandarin and in Beijing everyone wants to become a soldier for either fame, money, or a job. Mostly fame so I imagine this kid being a famous soldier along with his family. :,)
Even a rural school in china's poorest province, with only 3 students, has internet and computer. and it offers online English courses...i dont know about other developing nations. From the Chinese government to villages, china's dedication to education is quite amazing.
It's not a problem to be solved. We are still in the progress of urbanization, people will move in the cities, the school will shut down when these kids go the middle school in town, a village with no cropable land like this will die. But that's ok. We are constantly moving away from old lives. While it can be sad, we'll find the future.
@@lilian2627 Nonetheless, that doesn't discount their hardwork and dedication. They get that support because they need it. Would they only be praise-worthy for you if they got nothing?
This is why I love the Chinese culture, discipline is the best form of love. The teachers, the parents and the children, even in such a difficult situation haven't given up. 🤗🤗
They know their future is brighter than the past. They know poverty is temporary for them. Poverty, not misery: this is a key difference. True respect.
@PeaceMynusOne yes yes sure..bla bla bla...You don't even know the meaning of CCP....You are a troll basically... think about the only release for you...it's the same, just different point of view.
I teared down while look at it, it s My hometown, DingXi, poorest area in China, I was even more poor than this while I was in the shool. But the children and teatcher are great, even the lovely farmer, they have dreams, they work hard for it, the cute boys will get into University, they are future owner of China, Great respect to them! 向家乡人致敬!
@@katemakeup His father must have changed his destiny by going to university. Chinese education is very fair. The government has made great efforts to educate everyone. Even in remote places, equipment and teachers will be sent to teach. And almost all the teachers in the developed areas of the country will go to remote places to support teaching, which is even a required course for new graduates. In China,as long as the scores are enough, everyone will be admitted to the university without worrying about the cost, so the mobility of Chinese class is very fast.
9:46 what do you want your son to do in future , mom reaction is priceless & tear of happyness because she know her son is studying and probably a great person in future.
The fact that this mom is smiling, despite the many challenges for her AND her family, I’m humbled. I think we could all learn a thing or two from this. I know I certainly can. Thanks you for the enlightenment 🙌🏾
Wow!!! What dedication the teachers have. Only 3 students and 1 classroom left yet they kept the school going and with heat. Amazing teachers and kids!!
Look at these people. They are in such bad condition and they work hard and stay positive. It makes me feel incredibly lucky for just being wherever I am right now. Really wish them the best!
@@jefferyli4322 It seems that you still have not figured out the status quo, the school has always stood there, the government has been continuously investing, but the problem is that people are fleeing there. Escape from the objective and difficult conditions that manpower is difficult to change.
Jeffery Li it‘s very difficult to build a road there for bus. And only for couple of families there. The government invested already for electricity and internet for them. It is already very great. Besides, I don’t think this village will exist long. These kids will grow up and left this village in the future
@@LikeTotallyDouchey Actually Chinese govt only cares to invest in the cities and forget about the country side. Consequently those who could not go to cities which are far away from home are left behind and could never be able to get out of poverty.
@@LikeTotallyDouchey : It's the same in MURCA!. Federal and state governments plow money into urban areas cause that's where the resources (i.e. MONEY) are and don't give any thought to rural areas. BTW: when I say "rural areas" *I'm NOT talking about the vast suburbs of urban metropolitan areas but REAL RURAL areas like in West Virginia and Kentucky and Tennessee and parts of Oklahoma and Kansas and Wyoming and backwaters of the deep southern states where most of them don't have sewers and instead count on septic tanks IF THEY CAN AFFORD TO UPKEEP THEM... and running water........
Love how everyone is saying that the kid is brainwashed for saying he wanted to be a soldier. He just wanted to protect his family and his country. Do you know what that is? That is patriotism. That boy has a true spirit of a warrior.
This is the most heartwarming video I watched today. Now im just waiting for my graduation in uni with a major I do not want. I always wanted to become a teacher. Great respect for teachers!
My ancestors came from a mountainous poor region of Italy and there’s something about watching these people and footage where my heart tells me I miss elements of this familial culture, and the access to nature.. and how beautifully country-dwellers handle their hardships
Love the teachers who haven't abandoned the students even though the number of students is depressing. The teachers are the greatest givers to mankind, they enrich others' lives even though what they earn is a pittance.
It is so touched and I watched it twice ! I plan to support one or two students financially per year from now , I will see what I can do NOW. 自己小时候也是这样过来的,看了过后很泪目
Is this what a forward moving society needs? Perhaps it simply is not sustainable to live in a village anymore? You cannot blame people for wanting to move out.
Kenneth Chan Who says they *all* want to move. Human beings do what they must to survive, from moving to committing crimes. Survival of the fittest, not faith or prayer, gets people through, even if with sustained misery. That is how the ruling elite continue. Human beings have a high threshhold for suffering, before they revolt. Think French Revolution.
The kids are so adorable, seeing their happy faces is really heartwarming. My best wishes to them, they have a bright future ahead. Also, the headmaster is a good man, the kids are in the hands of a good mentor.
9:44 made me really sad. she allowed herself to dream for just a second, and then pulled herself back together because her son is not going to be a doctor or a lawyer, and conformed with her reality. you could see she wanted to cry because she couldn't provide her son with the best opportunities, but I want all parents out there to know, we know you work hard and do your best to give us the best you can. we love you.
No. In China, ypu only need to study hard and then there is no other requirments to be a lawyer or a doctor. If you can be admitted by the universities and pass the professional exam, then you can be.
I want to become an astronaut! I want to be a soldier! The second kid is just trying to keep it real. Living the hard life in the middle of nowhere makes these two kids grow up fast.
The first one is not that unreal... many Chinese kids from a similar poor background eventually achieved university education and became professionals.
This media shows the true China to the world. I am from a village in China. Most Chinese people are working hard, from kids to the adults and the elders.
Salute to the teacher who never give up, he's dedication and love for teaching is remarkable. The kids were so excited and happy going to school trekking those mountainous terrain. They are so eager to learn despite their difficult situation.
These kids are so adorable. They look happier than those left behind children in other RU-vid videos. Perhaps it is because even they are poor, they have loving parents with them.
What is really striking in this doc is all the people are really happy amidst all the difficulties which is hard to find nowadays. Those kids faces are shining like sun. This is what makes China the next super power.
Seems to be a phenomenom all over the world. Japan has the same problem, so has countries like Russia and Finland. Rural towns are getting older when the younger folk are moving closer to bigger cities.
I remember my grandma used to tell me how my dad need to walk 7 km a day just to get to the school. My dad did it until he enter secondary school then he survive on his own living in the dorm with a few money away from my grandparents for about 5 years. All the hard work he did pay off today :)
Yes but the soldier boy's wish is more likely to come true, the astronaut boy's dream is just a dream, it will likely never happen! It's extremely hard to be an astronaut, whereas many soldiers in China do come from poor rural areas.
@@ironguanyin123 The most famous Chinese Astro, Mr Liwei Yang, was born in an area which has similar poor conditions, his parent are just school teachers in a rural village. That said, most Chinese Astro grew up in those poor areas, studied really hard and work their way to the space program.
Woww these children are so beautiful .Love from India . Here also condition is worse if we go to rural areas.I think more than china .Atleast they have standards but here if you are rich you have world class privileges but if you born in poor family and specially in lower caste there's nothing you will get no dignity,no respect,no education,no standard living.China is still far forward than us.We need to maintain our standards.
I applaud these men for staying at that school and providing he boys with much needed adult care and attention. They could have left like the others and are most likely suffering financial hardships as a result. That's dedication to your students and your profession rarely witnessed here in the west. Somebody please set up a gofundme for these boys the elderly villagers and those teachers, so many people the world over would help. I hope they are able to be rehomed in the new social housing China has been investing in. I also know China has lifted many millions out of poverty so I hope they too will be.
i admire and respect the headmaster and all the people who stayed behind to help each other. its not an easy life but look at them they still smile and enjoyed the company of each other 🥺
Thats called true spirit keep it up.... cried watching this video.... And seeing the kids very happy m so proud of them..thank u for sharing this video..!
Woah, they remind me of my grandpa when he was little. He comes from one of the poorest & secluded village in sumatra, indonesia. But his spirit to learn was very high, he even got to go to the US to study (i forgot wether it was a scholarship or something else). He didnt have any source to learn english, so he likes to collect packaging from food & candy, and ask people what it means
This is what my Grandma told me about when i was still a kid, that life in China was not easy before and there were still no modern buildings and vehicles. Almost all of the places were still abundant with grass fields, trees, and mountains. My Grandma was also a farmer back then, and she told me that every harvest of rice is very hard before, cause you got to pick them up one by one from your own hands and wash the dirt off to make it clean and food was very scarce also before due to weather changes. The only food my grandmother eats everyday is a simple porridge made out of rice she worked hard for. In going to school, she had to walked several kilometers just to reach the school's destination and walked back home again. When my Grandma passed away, i always remember what she told me that i should not waste any food and always make my plate clean with no leftovers and I should be thankful that i didn't go hungry and i realized how painful it is to experience what my grandma told me about and what is it like to have less or nothing to eat due to hardship or poverty.
So i have linked this video to my mom and I cried.I told her that if only i have money to help (still a student) then i got touch by what she replied 😭 "You can help.Pray.Just include them in your prayer that would be the greatest help you could give" and I cried
On a positive note, they get more one on one lessons and attention to cultivate their education. The kids are very endearing 💖 Love the mom of the second kid. She seems very kind and supportive mother
My heart is warmed by the kids having dreams and already working hard to see them come true and hope for the world to have two more loyal soldiers and a great astronaut in the near future in China
It seems that the area they live in is not suited very well for farming. So by any logic, it makes sense for people to move to more prosperous areas. Yes, these villages will eventually be gone, but they should be gone as they only promote poverty. We have a saying in the west. Dont send food to the people in the desert, send them UHaul Trucks. (big company that rents trucks for moving households) because nothing will ever grow in the desert, so thereby the only help you can give is moving them to areas better suited for living.
What are you talking about. 90% of the people that now are middle class lived in areas not so different then that. What they did is move to Shenzhen, and or other industrial areas and earn money. Sure the kids stayed behind, but in a very short time by any standards allot of these people where able to lift them self into a better live. Chinese people are very good at figuring out how to earn money. But most do it by moving away from the areas that have no money and moving to areas that are industry heavy. And yes, initially they have to do it alone and the grand parent take care of the kids, but most manage eventually to increase their income enough to either bring part or all of the family to the new place, or to provide enough money to improve the old place. And whats with throwing around statements such as mentally retarded. You must be a liberal democrat, since only those resort to name calling on simple conversations.
Well, again with the personal attacks, really a very low way to make a point, but that being said. If you are so humanitarian, so concerned and shocked, why dont you send your paychecks to them and help them lift them self out of situation they are in. In the US more people are ending up living on the street every year, where in China more people every year move them self into middle class. My point is that in the location they are living there is no opportunity to make money, no opportunity to improve. This means the only way they will improve the situation is if they move to a location that does have economic opportunities.
Andreas Hauschild then again they’re probably working on moving to another place but right now they can’t bc one there dirt broke and second they have a big family and they need to feed them and make sure they survive which cost money to raise the family I’m sure they will like to move but economically they can’t and schools in he city cost money which they cannot afford therefore moving to another place will be useless and I couldn’t find any websites that I can donate some money to help them
