You could've killed the shrimp by sending them into shock by suddenly changing the water they're in. You're supposed to leave the bag in the water and let the temp adjust then open the bag and let them leave on their own

You should've filled the aquarium with water and let is change to room temp for awhile, and then set the bag in the water so that the water inside of the bag could become the same temp as the aquarium. But all in all, wow. Just wow. Great job everyone.

I know it's too late to say this, but you should have soaked the plastic bag with the shrimp in it in the aquarium until the water of the plastic bag is of the same temperature as the water in the aquarium, so that the shrimp won't get some sort of problems with the rapid change in the temps.

My eyes... Don't ever put water from the store to the tank. Use cycled water, not straight from tap (unless you cycled it for at least 3-4 weeks). Use heater and for god's sake use filter. Luckily Red Cherries are quite tough, but they won't survive without filter (Nitrates will build up after a while and kill everything)

Also you need to declorize water and then aclimate shrips by floating the bag over the water, then pourring a bit of tank water over it, then gentlely pour the bag inside the tank.

You might want to have looked into how to add fish to an aquarium before filling it instead of just 'shaking them out of the bag into water'. I'm guessing those shrimp later died due to either temp. shock or just general shock.

Jon may not be an on camera personality, but he's also not a handler of fish. Aren't you supposed to let the water settle for a few days, and allow the shrimp water to come to temp before releasing them... which you should do with the bag in the water and not by tipping? 🙈

I Sexually Identify As a GTX 980 Ti Hey I know some people who'd want them. Besides, these mice have their own ALU, so the electronics probably take more than the usual (mice electronics') share of the expense - it may be possible to cheaply change the outer plastic layer and give it away as if no one touched its exterior. And he said in the video that they're wrecking "mice"; plural. But I still understand what you're going at, it's a lot of hassle for something that might give them unfavorable reputation. It's just a shame to see working end-tech downgraded to decorations.

Isn't it bad for the shrimp to just put them in tap water like that? I thought fresh tap water is basically poisonous for them if you don't let it "clean" itself for at least 3 weeks...

If they didn't treat the water the chlorine will likely kill the shrimp. Assuming the chlorine doesn't kill the shrimp they will likely die to ammonia and the nitrogen cycle startup. Its not so much a tank "cleaning" itself as it is beneficial bacteria growing which convert ammonia to nitrite to nitrate. Nitrate is still harmful to shrimp/fish but is the less harmful of the three. By throwing fish in without waiting for the levels to settle you're running the risk of burning gills.

- You're suppose to cycle the aquarium before putting any live stock. Especially shrimp which is much much more delicate and than fish. - You're suppose to dechroine the tap water (hope you've already done that) - You're suppose to drip acclimate not dumping them straight to allow them to adjust to the new temperature and water parameters. Also, shrimp are sensitive to lights. Your flashy LED might stress them. I don't think your shrimp going to last if they are not dead already.

I dunno if it was just my mood, but this is one of the few videos where the background music is just the right amount, right volume, not too cringy or hypy. Probably just my mood. But i should also compliment the amount of hard work, and it is amazing to see everything coming together. And i feel sad for the shrimp, hope they are fine.

Yes. Someone tested. However those shrimps will first die from not matching water temperature and the fact that you don't add the water for m the bag into the new sink. And also that you need 12-24 to dechlorinate the water. RIP shrimps.

You usually submerge the bag(still closed) into the tank, so that the water temperatures match. You the open the bag, while its still submerged. This stops the fish from being hurt by impact and thermal shock when you transfer them .
