►Beginning the morning in Phu Yen with a “question cake” - “Banh Hoi” with pork intestine. “Banh Hoi” is covered a layer of chives cooking oil mixture, kind of small leaves chives of the Central. The pork heart, kid, liver etc., are arranged on top and served with hot porridge bowl. Pick up a piece of cake along with a piece of pork intestine and dip into a bowl of garlic, chili with sweet and sour flavor mixture sauce. The fragrance of cake along with chives and the crunchy of pork intestine, drink a spoon of hot porridge make me enough energy for a day exploring Van Hoa plateau.
►Van Hoa plateau is far about 45 minutes from Tuy Hoa city. This place is also called "Da Lat of Phu Yen", the time I go to Van Hoa is quite cool, like in Bao Loc, not cold as in Da Lat.
►I visit the red Burmese grape garden, there are many houses to plant this tree, people can visit, some gardens have fees, and some is free. The red Burmese grape tree is very eye catching with a plenty of red fruits, from the root to the top, to stimulate the sour craving of me. The appearance of red Burmese grape is very similar to the Burmese grape in the west, but the thicker cover, when ripe, turn from brown-violet color to bright red color. Sitting talking with Uncle Bon Phuong and listening to sharing of him about red Burmese grape trees and other fruit trees in the garden, he also invited me to have lunch with local specialties. The pineapple sauce is a combination of anchovy fish sauce, pineapple and little sea salt which soak in ceramic jars. It is used by local people to eat raw or cooked chicken, enzymes in pineapple piece to make chicken meat soften quickly and have a special fermented taste. “Dit” leaf is a leaves of a tree that grows so many in this highland. The “Dit” leaves have many similarities to the sour soup creeper leaves, but when cooked, they are sour and tender. The meal with chicken cooked pineapple sauce and chicken sour soup with ‘Dit” leaves in the cold days. It very wonderful things we have.
