I won, Awesome! You never followed up regarding the Buffalo Nickel? Was it modern? This week I am going to guess, Quarter. Keep up the great videos and hope to see you on the beach soon.
Happy-Happy Birthday Haley girl!!!! Give her an extra treat for me. Jim - Nice find on the gold ring. It's beautiful!!! I would dig that dime. Have a blessed weekend and enjoy your life...God bless.
Happy birthday Hailey!! 🎉❤🐶 That’s an awesome haul there! And that ring is a beauty! I’ve been talking to Pirate Mike about getting a PI to deal with those black sands but they are not easy to find. I’ve been checking EBay religiously 😫 I’m going to guess a Quarter for the WYDI🤞🤷♂️
The CTX 3030 is a good machine, however I fell in love with the Equinox 800 so I sold my CTX 3030. I can swing the Equinox all day vs the 3030, however they are both great machine and you cannot go wrong with either one. Good Luck in Newport hopefully we get some good swells to make it a really good beach when you get there.
@@funwithjim awesome sir thank you for your reply and information… seriously chopping at the bit anxiously awaiting your next adventure! I have a NOX 700 and thinking of getting a 3030 but the weight was a factor, your the best metal detector content on RU-vid and hope to see you there! Funny story my daughter is named Hailey and we recently had to put our beloved chocolate lab down we had for 15yrs so seeing your videos brings great joy to us!
Good morning! Question... I'm so faithful to my 800, what is your opinion on the 900? Is it worth the money to upgrade although she's still a perfectly good working machine,... (she is about 4 years old now)???
I have both 800 and 900. I dont hunt mineralized beach sand...the Florida gulf is pure white silica. I feel the 900 has a faster processor , perhaps faster software. I do run both macihnes in heavily mineralized red clay in the central states. Some spots are so mineralized you may not get a beep when you can see the target! On the 800 the Prospecting mode on 40khz will work some in these mineralized conditions. The 900 has "dp tones" which works in any mode. Dp tones is magic! Its about all I use anymore. It goes deeper than any other mode wet or dry. You can run Fe=9 and skip all iron. Im not saying it would work in black sand because I cant test that. dp tones is the only Equinox 900 mode that makes a definitive, easy to hear, unique sound for tin plate steel beer bottle crown caps. Try it. They make a squelch sound. The only caps I might dig are fresh Modello caps which are wrapped in foil. So the #1 reason the 900 is superior to the 800 is dp tones.
Happy Birthday Haley! Love watching you dig for treasure. In the 50's & 60's my parents occasionally visited local beaches with us kids in the LA area, before moving to N. CA. Miss the beaches. I would dig it, for a quarter!
I would definitely dig that dime! Jim great video and nice treasures. That Ring is stunning! I hope Haley is doing great 😊 Happy Birthday Miss Haley ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜 give her a hug and kiss from me 🥰
Happy belated Birthday to the sweetest smiling puppy dog! She’s absolutely precious! WYDI- I’m gonna guess a dime or maybe a quarter? Thanks Jim wish I could get out there more!
Great video, thanks for sharing how you work thru that black sand. What were you referring to early in the video when you mentioned getting a P.I.? Is that a coil type or something? I don't know Minelab equipment.
actually there were a couple of nice cuts in San Diego county last week too, remember that this time of year currents switch from South to North and if you watch out for those shifts you will find those cuts. Good Luck, this Hunt was just last Saturday 9/30 Thank You 👍
iron rich sands cause the machine to be unstable at higher sensitivity levels, I am constantly turning it down when near the black sands and then back up when I get away from the area.
Jim, thanks for passing along about the P on some gold rings. I discovered it when I talked to a jewelry shop owner. She said in the early 80s there was a lot of controversy about if you should by gold that does not have it. It is a guarantee that the gold at a minimum was the marked amount but could be higher. Yes, I’ll dig that crusty Nickel.
VDI's really mean nothing when in the soil unless it is really shallow and hardly any mineralized soil, so I dig it all too! great answer, Thank you! 😎👍
@@funwithjim thanks for the tip. I'm using a Garrett ace 200 (not the best, I know) but I do have an upgraded coil that has helped. So good to see your pup walking around!
🎉 Happy birthday 🎈🎂 Hailey 🥳 and Jim it may be one of two things that come to mind is a tent stakes or a coin but I not sure witch one as you know the heavy black sand messes with VDI a quarter,or half dollar,or a dollar coin. I am trying to cover the possibilities so that what I think it might be.
