My husband and I went to Umrah...when we stood in jamat for fajr salat....this Sheikh's recitation shook me from my heart to my soul. The recitation took me to another space. Allah invited us to hear... and be prepared for what will come. SubhanAllah Sheikh Yasir's recitation is profound, and I felt the ground shake from beneath my feet....Sheikh Yasir be blessed in this life and the hereafter.
Everyone, what should move us to tears is what he is reciting, the Speech of Allah Subhan-o-tala. The reciter crying should not be our motivation for crying. Cry over what he is crying over. May Allah give us all such deep understanding of the Quran that it makes us cry for every word we recite. May the Quran have such a potent effect on our heart that we become humble servants of Allah. Ameen.
The reason I think he cried beside that the verses are very powerful, is that the verses also mention the story of Prophet Ibrahim (عليه السلام)and his son Ismail (عليه السلام) and how obedient he was to his father. So Sheikh Yasser remembered his father who passed away (رحمه الله). May Allah gather Sheikh Yasser with his Father in the Jannah and us all.
The story of Ibrahim are mentioned in several places in the quran. There is one chapter Ibrahim in the quran. And in the last part of muslim prayer the name of Ibrahim is recited in the prayer. So true that God has made Ibrahim as someone loved by generations.
Sheikh yasir dossary is soo nice imam, I have prayed many times during his imamat in masjid haraam He recite so nicely... When u will hear his recitation in ur presence, that sound is soooo far beautiful than in any video... I feel you. The same feeling when I was praying at mataaf and hear Syeikh Baleelah voice in 2017 hajj season. Hope someday I will pray at mataaf and hear Syeikh Dossary voice.
I Saw him crying another time for a different story of Ibrahim(pbuh). He is emotional on the stories of our father Ibrahim. I don't know why. There must be something special in his life like all of us. Beautiful man

I am amazed by the imams of Makkah. How much piety they have, how fearing God they are. Even after devoting their whole lives to the path of Allah, how many longings and pleas to Allah. And we do not pray or walk in the path of Allah, but still we have no feeling inside. We indulge in worldly jokes. May Allah save us from your punishment and guide us to the right path (Ameen).

You can do it! Make time to learn - even if it's a little bit each week. Start with Surah Fatiha and the Surahs you recite the most in your prayers, learn their translations and go into a bit of the Tafsir too :)
Al-Huda Productions I hv done it twice with Urdu translation and now I’m reading it with Urdu tafseer but I wish also if I could understand Quran directly in Arabic which has much stronger impact. This was job of our governments that they should hv enforced it in our schooling system to learn Arabic .
Go the other way. Like start from Last Juzz and then backwards. That will be easier than starting from Juzz 1 because it will be difficult to keep up with the whole Surah Al Baqarah for start.
