The 75mm duck is the only twin engine plane in game I can think of that can't make it on one engine. Even if the loss of an engine is the only damage, you are going to crash.
@@John.McMillan What do you mean? So many planes in WT cant fly on 1 engine despite the fact thats what they were made for irl. Ducks, Do, Beaufighters from memory, Maybe the mosquito? I know the 288 cant as well. Only one i can think of doing it is the Lightning's but thats only because they have such insane power output.
In real life the Duck had the ability to jettison the 75mm cannon if attacked by fighters or damaged by ground fire. This would remove a great deal of weight and drag, giving it a better chance of getting home.
My WT cycle: 1. Boot up WT 2. Get extremely frustrated 3. Go play something else / go touch some grass 4. Browse RU-vid 5. Watch a Smigol video 6. Boot up WT with new found hope 7. Get extremely frustrated 8. Go play something else / go touch some grass Rinse and repeat...
I'm actually able to play some battles, but then I reallize the game is still prioritizing player kills over completing mission objectives - then I get extremely frustrated and go play something else.
he's using keyboard controls in those situations, not mouse aim. this allows you to bypass the Instructor's wonkyness of mouse controls that will very often put you right into a stall. he's also using his flaps very well which also helps. Nothing special, it's just experience.
@@MarshalBeard that’s crazy if it’s true, I find it’s impossible to fly smoothly with only keyboard inputs as there’s no analog actuation to them, it’s always 100% up or down, left right etc.
@@KirbyTheEpic the trick is to tap the keys very quickly. For example if I want to make a gradual left turn in the MIG 29, I'll tap A once or twice and then tap my side mouse button which Is binded to pull up maybe 5-6 times a second. That will cause a gradual turn that you can stay well into supersonic speeds. If you tried to do that with your mouse, the instructor would have you in a half bank turn using the rudder which basically functions as an airbreak at high speeds. Every good pilot you see is flying using 90% manual inputs during a fight. I've been playing for 10 years as of April 23rd.
I'm more impressed that the Duck here is actually surviving rifle caliber mg fire as it should. Was expectimg perma fires or pilot snipes despitr the hilarious amount of angled armour this thing has
The duck is just too spiteful at the world below to allow itself to fall back down alive. Screw airfields, its spitting at ground targets and taking out other birds. Truly majestic
You've done a lot of insane stuff over the time iv been watching you Mr Smigol... But i have to say fighting semi effectively in a 129 will take the cake for years to come.
That 7:33 moment actually confirms that the game is "developed" by a russtardian. You, as a Pole, should remember those armored birches around certain airports in Smolensk... :-)
Le RU-vid CAS plane: survives numerous 20mm hits, direct fire from quad .50cals and manages to still wreck havoc on the ground Le my plane whenever I feel inspired: 1 short .50cal burst=instant "plane burnt down, fu" from gayjin Awesome skill btw
Dude, every time I watch your videos I forget my entire vocabulary, except for shouting "WTF" after each clip... Magnificent job 👍 P.S.: I'd call it "extremely low speed air support" 😂
My stages watching a Schmeegol video: 1- hum, the first dogfight is not that ba...(pancakes) 2- WHY. THEY. ARE. TURN FIGHTING. A. DUCK! 3- god aim cheat activated 4- cooms 5- 10/10 would bang
Smigol is Quacked! I do not know what witchcraft you performed to make the Duck fly so well, but damn it's good magic to keep that flying tank gun in the air.
German engineers: "Lets build a plane that proves to all the others how strong ground effect REALLY is." In germany we call the type of flying Smigol showes "Abriss machen"
Smigol: I get supports from the ground Average war thunder user: lucky... u have buddies that focus spawning SPAA? Smigol: No I mean LITERALLY from ground collison boxes
It's honestly quite an interesting design. The Germans built this quite late in the war, the plan was to use any engine that was not on strategic demand, so they turned to vichy france for the Gnome Rhone radial engines. It would be quite the plane with more powerful engines.
All these ground pound videos have me wondering about the likely hundreds of clips of you going to kill an SPAA only for him to have spawn protection and kill you. Love that shit great feature.
You should give the Ro.57 Quadriarma a spin, I've been taking it into 5.7 and it still claps. Great bomb load plus Hispano GT belts plus airbrakes and great Italian 50s? Ohh its so nice.
A lot of close calls, but mr dont u know that ur suposed to spawn, dive get a kill while diving, try to pull up and then die cause ur going 600kh on a bus with wings?
