The FACT that this lion @0:36 can see a whole herd of agitated buffalo coming his way and not only keep composure, give chase, TAKE A WHOLE BUFFALO IN A HERD by himself, not fearing the repercussions? I’m blown away. His lone technique, brute strength, TENACITY. RIP to that buffalo.
Imagine a whole herd of buffalos running from one lion half their size. One thing I’ve learned in life, it’s all about your attitude and confidence, if you believe in yourself anything is possible
@@lukasweidinger7243 they have big ass horns and their kick is deadly. They fling lions in the air sometimes so its not an easy. That male to chase and take one down all by himself is nothing short of legendary
@@Angrypatriot_1 all this time the lion clings to this buffalos neck, the other buffalos could have ended this lions life, but they choose to run and sacrifice one of their own. I dont understand this at all. maybe the other lion that comes in the end chased them away, but still its weird
@@marcofe1732 you are looking at it from human intelligence. Animals have smaller brain to body size ratio than human in general. If the herbivore buffalos had human intelligence they would be never be killed. In their perspective lions are threat that isolate them and kill them or take their babies so they act cautious by nature trying to save their team just in case if there is another trap.
@@MAruGGs so we should just " pretend " this isn't a new " normal " being shoved down our throats? It's pretty damn annoying to see it play out, so any opportunity to debunk that clown world ideology, is completely fair game, in my opinion.
Its teeth & paws are its tools. The greatest tool a man has is his mind from which all things flow; including the ability to create weapons so that he does not have to put himself in harms way. Whenever a predator goes on the offensive they always put themselves in harms way. The lion taking down buffalo may have sustained injuries that we are unaware of.
@@luutsii And who are you to me again? Ohh yeah ... no one of importance. And here you are dictating to me the manner in which I should comment. Next time I want to hear from the village idiot, I'll look your way.
@Awakened Virtue We're against prolonged torture and suffering . How do you get mad about that ? If you want to eat something go hunting , dont be lazy anf go thru McDonald's drive thru. Companies treat animals like products rather than by living animals with awareness. Why would you dispute that ?
I think It's hillarious how the buffalo herd are approaching the lion like a bunch of thugs, but once the lion started charging they all run to their mommas!!!
I guess you're right because the last lion is sizanani a legendary lion he's a expert of buffalo huntings and the one that hunts alone is skorro a lone male young male then they make s coalion together after sizanani lost his brother in s fight he teach skorro how to hunt now sizanani is dead because of injuries hunting buffalo and skorro is alone now driven away from his pride by other lion coalition
@@Samsun55 4 male lion coalition enter their territory and sizanani left with his pride and died a week after that with injury and old age while skorro stay to defend it.it took 2weeks to defeat skorro but he's still alive now alone he only sustain a injury and manage to recover.
For a while, I thought the buffalo might be able to break free. That's not just an awesome display of speed and strength by the male lion but also one of not letting go.
I did it all the time when i was in university. What the other group members didnt realize is, that, although we got the same grade, I gained way, way more knowledge in the subject matter than they.
Male lions are not lazy. They barely hunt because they have to stay behind to protect their territory. They're much more powerful than lionesses who can't take down a buffalo single handedly.
They can, but this is a weak little female buffalo. Lions, like all cats, can hunt alone, but 40-50% of their prey is the prey of lionesses. By the way, lions do not survive alone.
@@yatotomototo whatever the male or female, you can find many videos on yt male lion hunting alone. Moreover, when you have power of unity, you don't need to lose any strength by hunting alone which doesn’t mean that lion can't survive alone. Many young lions are driven away from pride at their young age and they survive in wild alone.
@@msazzadul Lions are the only cats that hunt in a pack, because they will not survive alone. A lone lion has no chance to carry off its prey, it will be chased away by hyenas. Lions somehow survive until they find a new pride, it's not for a lifetime, a maximum of one year.
At 1:00 you can see the buffalo trying to stomp the lion, and the lion using its rear leg to fend off the stomps. That is black belt Brazilian Jiujitsu right there. Royce Gracie would be be in awe.
Mike Schreiber+ I did, and everybody should cuz it's fascinating to watch. The Lions hind legs always push away the buffalos leg every time he tried to stomp, excelent defence. His balls was never touched. The Lion got skills.
@@jessestewart169 no they're not, 1 lioness wouldn't in a million years take down a full grown buffalo by herself. A male on the other hand, can. Lionesses are only good when hunting in numbers.
The lion at the end just casually moseying toward that lion's hard earned kill is like, "Hey Fred. Great work out there! I see you still got some moves huh? So um...Can I um...join you for dinner?"
As a kid I didn't like watching stuff like this. I'm old now and understand the relationships between predators and prey, it fascinates me still, as if organised somehow by nature. Rare to see it that close to the action, a lucky safari trip for whoever shot that.
For all those who think lionesses do all the hunting. Usually takes at least 2 or 3 lionesses to handle a buffalo of that size. The male does this all by himself.
buffalo hunting is mostly done with male lions accompanying the females even elephant hunting. All of u watching youtube videos and u dont see that there is always a male lion in buffalo hunting groups.
he may even be past his physical prime given how expertly and experienced he carries out his attack. 1. approach 2. attack without hesitation, so the herd flees, 3. be a little lucky that one buffalo separates 4. bring it down fearlessly but effectively and smart. reducing the risk of injury in this heroic kill. this is incredible. the buffalo must have thought he just lost against michael jordan.
This is probably the best video I’ve seen that displays how most of these buffaloes are truly taken down; not by dragging them to the ground and biting them until they bleed out but by choking them. -buffalo screams as lion attacks -lion bites neck -screaming stops because it physically cannot due to windpipe being clamped off -lion adjusts grip and for a split second you hear the buffalo gasp -buffalo is trying to breathe and scream through all this but literally cannot -buffalo soon collapses and eyes roll back as it passes out -gasping reflex kicks in and you see the mouth gaping open and tongue curling -the last of the body’s strength is spent reflexively kicking in a final attempt to escape -lion keeps grip on throat to completely suffocate buffalo The scream getting cut off and the buffalo straining to breathe but being unable to through all this is crazy. It’s probably not even too painful; less puncturing teeth and more sheer crushing force.
@@harshitpatnaik6381 Go cry somewhere else you little tiger fangirl. A tigers main source of prey are deer and wild pigs and they even struggle to kill them lmao!!
Lmao Lion fans 😂😂😂...A male lion vs male buffalo is 4-6 in favour of Buffalo ..and u guys are barking over the videos where Lion emerged victorious..wat about the other instances where Lion was Brutally defeated by buffalo?? But if it's a male tiger vs gaur ..tiger always wins .... Strength speed bite force longer teeth ..sharper claws ..most importantly it kills by crushing wind wipe ... breaking spine ...it's heavier especially Siberian one wat makes u idiots thimk lion is more powerful just give me a single reason other than mane and Disney movies
At 0:55 the lion pounces on the buffalo's back while it was in a full sprint and exactly 5 seconds later, the cries of the beast are silenced forever. The athleticism and skill of the male lion are unmatched on this planet.

2:15 You can see the Buffalo's eyes rolling in the back of his head when as he passes out. Must be scary. That lion is a king. Definitely has experience.
@@archimidiz probably the wind was from left to right and he was sitting in front of the herd he can hide but cannot stop smelling and secondly look how he stops the buffalo from hoofing him by his hind legs.
@@VikramSingh-zb2vs he lost the tactic battle the moment he decided to attack a Buffalo herd alone. That isn't a great showing of bravery, that's a move of desperation.
@@archimidiz yep you can say he was desperate but that's what the wild is about and when a lion kills he has to be fierce, aggressive and some times desperate. From humans point of view desperation does not seem to be good for technique. But when your game is based on making the target weak by making them afraid and you had done this in the past then what you call desperation becomes the part of the technique.
1st lion "oh I thought you said you weren't hungry" 2nd lion *looks around* "well I dont see nothing else out here to eat" 1st lion "THERE WAS JUST A HUGE HEARD OF...nevermind"
Just amazing how a lion can tackle a big prey like that without seriously injuring itself. A human doing the equivalent would have suffered broken bones, head trauma, etc.
Ahhh but you see, us humans, we don't need to do it that way ( play the lion's game), we are not built for it. We do what we are built for and that's endurance running. We force them to play to our strengths by chasing them the whole day not giving them a chance to rest and replenish their energy ( The bigger they are, the more energy they use to run) until they collapse and it is an easy job for the catching hunting relay team members armed with sharp rock knives/spears to release the lifeblood from there. You see back then and even today in some parts of the world, humans were/are not couch potatoes, fit humans can run for hours on end (yes, at a slow pace, but easy does it), chasing animals towards an awaiting team to hand over to, to continue the chase!
Excellent strategy and excellent execution by this lion. Once the buffalo approached to investigate he stayed calm and laid flat as to appear non threatening, without a sliver of fear in him. Then he jumps into a charge, scaring the buffalo into running and giving him the chance to take one down. I didn't even notice he was holding the buffalo's leg away with his own legs til' I read the comments. Absolute chad lion.
Wow that is such an amazing catch!!! All credits to the lonely male lion, we're usually used to see lionesses doing the hunt, but this time it's all about a single male lion in the action, incredible job... Congrats to him, to bad for the buffalo...
@@lucid.6610 maybe some white or yellow belt but lamparts are ultimate dan black belt champions. u can find movie when 4 lioness could not this one grand master;p
People don't realize just how big that buffalo is. But the lion is massive too. That buffalo is much bigger than it appears to be. It wasn't the biggest in the herd by no means, but it's still no baby.
contrastingAgent are you blind or can’t read properly. I literally stated in my last sentence that the scene we are watching is not “wrong”. My first sentence was of society. My last sentence was off the video. Smh
That lion is a really skilled hunter. Wasted no time and went straight for the kill. Knows the neck is where the kill happens. It's amazing. Put pressure on the bull and will not let go.
They don’t, lioness do 85-90% of the hunting while either the male sleeps or protects the pride, but when a male lion is in action there’s no doubt if they need to they can Hunt better than the lioness.
this lion was likely not a part of a pride. he was likely a nomad who had no females to hunt for him. the reasons why males who are a part of a pride don't hunt has nothing to do with laziness. it has to do with their huge manes which give them away to prey. also, the male needs to stay behind to guard the cubs and protect the territory. lionesses are better hunters within a pride.
This is normal for a male lion, females are much weaker and slower and dumber, while the male never gets frightened by anything.Usually you will see female lions hunting and so,they will fail, but it is different for a male because its much stronger and fearless. Not rare but common only for male lions.
Muhammad.zeeshan Uddin female lions do most of the hunting, and are faster then the male's male lions usually only hunt if don't have female's to do it for them..
Lions hunt alone or with other lions when they are bachelors. This one is as fit and fearless as any young man. Granted, like young human males, their fearlessness doesn't always work out for them.
Lionesses are opportunistic killers. They'll go for the smallest weakest target, but lions like to go for the big kill in an attempt to prove themselves. However, lions don't have the speed and stamina that lionesses do. So they need to get close enough to their prey so that can launch an ambush.
2:32 - Oh hey Paul. I see you got a buffalo there. I mean, I would have DEFINITELY helped you! I was just busy. But hey, need any help eating that thing? You can't eat it all yourself! 😂
