I honestly don’t believe being extremist against extremism. It will only change the face of extremist thoughts. We have Marxists in front of us. This is not easy problem to solve. It requires generation of population grown up in rational/ liberal thoughts. No one person/ leader/ government would be able to address this monster overnight.

@@peerwasif3482 Never. I totally agree that corruption and religious extremism are existential threat for Pakistan, and both of them are from within. If you think about it then corruption contributes to even in religious extremism (via illegal fundings). Unfortunately, there is no immediate solution. Situation is already out of hand. But people are of the view that Govt should have open fire on TLP dont realized that it would have only fueled it further. The only solution in my view is educating, bringing harmony, which is going to be a slow process and cant be done without the help of citizens. Ultimately, we need to educate people to think rationally and not be used by these groups. Yes, its a ticking bomb , infact, I would say its like suicide bomber, and u need to handle it carefully.

My teacher, she's her self perusing PhD in Human Rights, I got stuck in a discussion with her about forced conversions in Pakistan. She said nothing is happening the same here. After giving her few examples she said this mission is carried out by Ahmadiz who are defaming Islam so we should Kill them. Our religion says to kill them. Irony is she's teaching us Human Rights 😭

And the educational policies of the present government are increasing religious extremism in people..we cannot mend the mindset of even science teachers..they are all promoting insanity and are all against critical thinking..i can't even express my opinion about such issues in front of them..and then they say that people In these days are secular. Historically it is deep-rooted where the Industrial Revolution took place. In connection to that, I think classification is needed to be addressed. The very secularism of the Western world where capitalism worked gets the highest points. In the second category the countries where socialism used work, the performance of secularism and Democratic institutions aren't up to the mark. Like China, Russia, and many more. Industrialization and the spirit of the Industrial Revolution aren't the same. China isn't a non-secular country and there are huge industries all over the country, but is it democratic? Of course, not. So secularism is meaningless without democratic values. You are allowed to trash talk, but we don't have any right to burn someone else's house, to kill someone in the name of religion or ultra-nationalism. Now, let us come to the position of India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. If we look back in history all were Constitutionally secular. But didn't sustain. Why? Because declaration doesn't change a country but the ground reality. We copied Western secularism but nighter industrial revolution, not Democratic institutions took place all over undivided Hindustan. But one thing is for sure India is ahead of Bangladesh and Pakistan no doubt. Why? Because still, the election process is going on over there. In this connection, the emergence of BJP and RSS is essential for the country. Democracy isn't an instant case but the outcome of a long process. The way BJP is pursuing its politics is due to the inevitable crisis of itself, to some extent, its false values will be exposed to the people, and then gradually the country will correct itself. People will be able to understand the essence of democracy. Nowadays Bangladesh is doing well. But what about democratic practice? Zero. So International parameters aren't the concern, the concern is freedom of speech, secular values, commitment to democratic practices. You know there are lots of middle eastern countries that are economically very strong. But if you put a choice to a Bangladeshi, where is he willing to settle? In Qatar or countries like the USA, Britain, Australia so and so. Everyone will be happy to stay in the second choice. Why? Because of the mode of production of the society.
