I love my L-Faster belt drive...but it will seriously melt your earballs.
So, per request, I did a noise (sound?) comparison between a direct drive, a belt drive and the exway gear drive. I placed an insta360 camera equidistant between the boards and utilized the onboard microphones. So, sound fidelity might be absolute dogshit, but it should be a fair comparison between the different drive types.
Spoiler alert...the ACE Gear Drive is closer to a direct drive than a belt drive when you listen to it head to head.
So, I did not normalize the sound. I just took the raw audio, threw it in, and that's it. So, don't think that you'll bleed from the ears with a belt drive.
