Thank you so much ! You are the only person I found - and I was really looking for videos - that talk about the eyes. I just came from a video you made about blinking and have those nervous bad habit to move your eyes all around and those 2 are my current problems. Augmented Actor yeah I’m trying to learn a lot about what I can about acting from many different sources online because of covid changing my life a lot from moving out of a city back to my small hometown... I have gotten scammed before with online classes in acting recently and there’s no acting classes within 2 hours of where I live.. any suggestions of online acting classes that I could use until I can take some in person?

@@austinm3149 I haven't taken any online acting classes myself recently, but I would suggest joining a facebook group called Rehearsal and Self Tape Partners for Actors. facebook.com/groups/rehearsalandselftapepartnersforactors They have a lot of special workshops and classes (usually free for members of the group) that are taught by casting directors who work on big projects. These are good for audition tips and some are about character development. I'd also recommend just finding an acting coach who can do one on one lessons with you. If you are wanting more of a theater training, then in-person acting classes are going to be the best bet once things start to return to normal. (I know that's difficult in a small town). Also, join my facebook page facebook.com/groups/augmentedactor There are a few folks from my neck of the woods in that group who do private coaching and you can also ask the group for suggestions on training courses. Hope this helps a little.

Augmented Actor another question sir, I have learned a lot about acting through your RU-vid channel and others on RU-vid but I have heard about many acting techniques and I’m wondering, do I need to take a class to understand these techniques? Like with UTA Hagen’s book respect for acting.. is that book gonna give me the entire info of UTA Hagen’s technique? Because I’m worried of not getting the FULL INFO needed, i want to know if I have to take a class to learn UTA Hagen’s technique or I can just read that one book? I really I’m anxious to start acting but I want to set a foundation so that I can pick up a script and know what to do.. that’s why I want to know. If I could learn everything there is to learn about one technique in a book I would love to know which ones.

That’s a tough thing to help with but I think half the battle is just being aware that you tend to blink and to remind yourself to pay attention to your blinks when you are performing. That should never be your top priority but it’s something to work on. If you have a camera record yourself when you are practicing and watch to see how many times you blink and keep trying until you can reduce the blinking. If your blinking happens because of a physical reaction or condition you may just have to try to use blinking as a performer. Make your characters “blinky” on purpose. Blinks are natural and happen for everyone so don’t get too caught up on it. Just work to minimize the amount of blinking you do.
