Love this song when I first heard it in 1982. Loving it more each time I hear it. In 2023. I'm seventy-four years and will never tire of 60s 70s and 80s music.
I'm a couple of steps back from you at 58 years old, but feel the same way. Singing to the songs of the late 60's on the AM radio as my mom drove me to kindergarten. Growing up in the 70's and 80's. Seeing it all die starting in the 90's. How lucky we were to live it to the fullest! You've let me know I'll still keep rockin' till the sandman comes! You keep doing the same Anthony!
67 here, and still loving our music from the 60' & 70's. I mostly only listen to 1970's music but occasionally I'll find a few from the early 80's I like.
This is one of the first songs in English I've heard as a child living in México and even though I didn't understand the lyrics but the music transported me to another dimension..I love it so much and many years later when finally was able to understand the language I knew the reason of my feelings about this song and some others from Alan Parsons and different artists.. music like this would never be repeated in this world. ❤❤❤
This song is a masterpiece and everyone knows that. This song is as addictive as sugar. Its lyrics, the music, the voice and everything is so beautiful and thrilling that gives me the goosebumps every time I listen to it. In my humble opinion, I thin that Alan Parson’s Project is in the same league or level as Pink Floyd, Phil Collins, Eagles, Journey, Foreigner and some others are.
Driving home I played some old music and one of them is this. My kids were amazed how beautiful the lyrics and melody of these classic music. And now everytime we go on a road trip they want me to play these classic songs. I'm sure they will remember our road trips until they grow old.
Of course they will!! I remember my dad used to listen to Pink Floyd and Dire Straits when we went out for long drives and I loved it... he passed away a few years ago and I now love classic rock, its the best really.. and it also reminds me of him. :)
Im 26 years old and can pretty much recite any song between 1950- 2005. Music has always been an oulet for all sorts of emotions. But Allen Parsons Project seems to fit any mood im in. And what is even more weird is that Allen Parsons is a co writer for the album Dark Side of Moon by Pink Floyd . Because if you listen to this song which came out after that aforementioned album it makes you think how did he not become more of household name. This is to you Allan Parsons you the man, the myth and the Ledgend. 🤘🤘
MAN! I''m 70 ... & my fave music era was the 1970's ... But THIS IS PHENOMENAL ... THE LYRICS ARE REVELANT TO 2024 ... TODAY IS 5/18/24 ... & even w/ my skeletal diseased old body ... I can keep perfect drumbeat - JESUS IS COMING - BELIEVE ON THE GOSPEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello everybody. And I was 19 then and 59 now. I see that I'm not alone to love such a song, as years go passing by. I'm glad to have a connection to all of you just listening good music! All the best...
Yes I think it should be a crime for any radio stations to play anything but classic tracks like this. Perhaps then we could educate the next generation to what real music really is! I do not care if any of you call me bigoted, I am loyal to my generation and their appreciation of bloody great music!
@@pamelapickett4004 There is a reason that more and more new bands try and recreate the sounds of the 60s to 80s. Simply because that was the real music.
I’m a 2000s kid but my dad always played this album when he was driving. It brings back so many memories and it’s surprising that indie rock was so strong in the 80s!
At least im one of the few know what the talent is as a kid, and this.. this is 100% pure talent and im not sure anybody can prove me wrong, I am the only kid I know who listens to music as such. Its sad to see people now neglect the best music ever!
One of those forgotten gems that wasn't a hit over here In the uk , but what a beautiful song ..just makes u wanna drift away in to dreamland ...god bless and dont forget to b kind to one another xx
Hi. You must check the cover from philippine group called REO BROTHERS. They covered this song. You will love it. ☺️ I love this song too, when i heard them, its like the same with Alan parsons project. They known as beatles of the philippines. 😊
OMG! I am 61. This is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. I remember when this first " came out." I am still THRILLED to listen to this song. First time I have ever seen the video.
I've been overloaded with stress lately. Today I was at my breaking point. Tonight I took my Harley out for a night ride with this and similar songs playing on my earbuds as I leaned through the twisting turns, feeling the rumble of the engine, with a big bright half moon overhead...zen.
As a person that was born in the 70s. This song brought back memories of the 80s of the Chicago Bulls. This song is etched in my memory as this was the intro for the lineups for the team during the Jordan era.
Ah, the glorious Eighties! I never want to leave that era. Alan Parsons Project kept me alive and maintained my sanity during my last semester in college writing my thesis.
Congratulations for having the chance of a good education. Even better to appreciate a class act of music to help you go through life's journey. My life's journey is slowly coming to an end, I am 78 and have had the good fortune of hearing the very best bands, groups, since the 1950's. Good luck to you for your future, anyone that actually still listens to these so talented musicians, composers of this era I salute you.
@@pamelapickett4004 Thanks, Pam! I was online with another blinded fan about the Zhang Zhe Han's affair. Can never stoop so low to ruin someone's lifeline.
I was 16 the day my father asked what I was listening to and I told him The Alan Parsons Project. He said it sounded good (this was 1980). I think my jaw print is still on my bedroom floor. It was then that I realised my father was a human being and that music effected him. I love you Dad!
This is my all time favourite music. I am nearly 70 and I still play this and tap to the beat. Simply the best. You can’t beat the 80’s music! I now get my grandkids listening to these songs! They bop around the room and sing along! 😝
I never really paid too much attention to this song before until now, and I realize what a great song this is. Besides the beautiful electronic, melodic introduction, the lyrics are just so beautiful and so real. Thank you for your efforts in posting this amazing song!
this is actually 2 songs. the second song (with lyrics, entitled ‘eye in the sky’ ) should disturb the ever living fuck out of you. it’s the most disturbing piece of music ever written to have a sense of poetry about it. without question
@@seandelfin This song is my journey with being an empath. Boundaries! I may be old but I’ve learned! This song fits. And now I can spot a narcissist a mile away and I calmly walk the other way.
@@seandelfin Us and Them by Pink Floyd is probably the most sensual sounding song about war and death that I can think of. But yeah, I've always tripped on the whole eye in the sky thing. I think that it came from books I've read as a kid and Judas Priests song "Electric Eye" that kinda pushed me into thinking about it. There seems to be hardly a place where you can't be seen from above anymore.
YES!! When I rediscovered this song I listened to it for two hours straight!! And now I'm on five days of listening to it several times a day!! The music, its gotten into my head, heart, mind and spirit. Beautiful, mello and calming...
Have spent many years trying to inform people of this band and this song. It is a drive you mad song, keeps you awake, then you have to get up and listen to it yet again! We are so lucky, sorry today is a world without true talent, anyone singing so called hits of today apart from tone deaf kids?
I learned this song back in 1989 in my grade school - didn’t know the name or singer back then. One of those music that remains in a corner of your brain, and always comes back and reminds you of the time when you were young. Since I didnt know the title of the music, never could find out who sang this…tried though, but also forgot the lyric. Today, on a October day of 2023, I finally found this…took me over 34 years to find this music…reminds me of the cold winter days of 1989 in my grade 7 class.
No matter how many years go by,my love for this kind of music will never die... I know time went by quick, I just turned 58 this week. I started listening this music when I was 14 and it helped me learn English little by little and then I came to US as a student and here I am. My mother that lived in Mexico used to ask me to play all these songs I had recorded in cassettes and cd's because she liked them, even though she didn't understand what the song was/talked about, she loved them 🙏 RIP I'll go to the grave with these songs.
I emigrated to this beautiful country from Cuba in June of 1980 and this is one of the 1st songs I fell in love with as soon as I learned the English language, such a beautiful song, God bless America
I know that my dad loved Elvis but he also mentioned this song as one of his favorites. Dad, I miss you it's been over 2 years now that you have passed and I listen to this song to feel the connection that we had. You drove home early from work to take me to little League practice for years and I appreciated you and won't ever forget you teaching me how to be a man.
Sounds like you had a good dad. You were very lucky. Most of us get the short end of the stick. The world would be a better place if we had more men like your dad.
To my Love of my Life...Who Past away four days ago..Kim I Love you and always will..Time.It's so short in this Realm...Love those you hold Dear, now....for no one is promised tomorrow......Love and Praise Jesus now....Travel well Kim my Love..Hope and Pray to see you on the other side...where Time is Eternal.
Bob Seger’s Still the same & this song stand out so much in my head. Born in 70. I was lucky enough to be alive during the best musical generation ever!!!!
Still remember the first time I heard this. 1982 in the back seat of my parents car on the way back home from seeing the movie "Class of 1984". Amazing how musical moments stay with you.
In fall 1981, a rainy Monday morning, about 730am...just pulling a '68 Pontiac Catalina into a gravel lot parking place...just about to trudge my way to an 8am calculus class. Then, after a few seconds of radio silence this song came on the radio. Six minutes of pure genius. Beautiful, unforgetable.
Good music from the any age keeps me going. I can pick some from the 50's and all the way to now but only a handful make me come back over and over. This is one of them
This song reminds me of my father. 6 months ago he went to the hospital cause he thought he had Covid. Well it was stage 4 colon cancer. He was gone in 3 weeks!! Love & miss you Dad. I know you have got your eye in the sky watching us…..can’t wait to see you again. Until then…..I have songs & memories. See u on the other side. Love u!!!!
Alzarsi una mattina accendere la radio e sentire la 1 volta questo pezzo mi innamorai subito . Infatti divento Leggenda negli anni. Mitico Alan nessuno come lui a distanza di decenni musicali. CiaoGiovanni.
He's brilliant, recording engineer, musician, producer, so tallented, every song he made was fantastic.Remindes me of the good ol days of when i was younger, it still gets to me, some of the best music ever made.
The Intro and how the Chicago Bulls used it elevated it to Epic levels! Still get goosebumps remembering those days. I grew up in Saudi Arabia. Every Friday there was a basketball game on, probably recorded or something and it was usually Bulls. Loved those days!
I was going through a divorce when this song was released. It helped, I wish I could go back to that time and relive those days with the knowledge I have now!
I was about 9 yo when this song came out in ‘82, I knew then it was a good song, catchy, great sounds. 27 years later, going through a divorce, the actual words really hit home with me. I was done, no more working it out so she could go back to treating us like crap down the road again. No more of the lies and deception, everything was so vivid and clear.

I appreciate your taking the time to share the lyrics. I have intensely bad memories attached to this song. Yet, now you have explained what APP was thinking about ie it’s more of a spiritual song. It definitely has changed my perspective. You are one person who did something wonderful for me. Thank you most sincerely. 🙏
@@donnadaisy333 Indeed a deep song!!..IM IN LOVE WITH THIS SONG. Thank you for your kind words, so happy your point of view is different now in the positive direction 🔥💕
God of the bible doesn't begile or lie. Luck is a concept. So who else could it be? This is a man who has fallen into the trap and was beguiled by the trappings of the world. He fell down to worship satan. The man whose eyes are now open is trying to walk away. Satan unmasked, is no longer lucifer the angel of light bearing gifts and treasures this world has to offer.. Does this man really break free?
It wasnt perfect.. but we had hope. I would never have guessed that my time in childhood would appear like gold compared to these modern sad times😥. Now i have a terminal opioid dependency that is painful and slowly killing me. I long for my childhood 😥
Beautiful 💞music 🎸🎵🎷🎼🎹🎶🥁 beautiful 💞song 🎤🎵🎼🎶, together with beautiful 💞 photos 📸🎞️🖼️. What a fascinating💖 and charming♥️ combination that I ever listened & seen.
This song always reminds me of my mom. I was 12 when this song was on the radio. My parents had recently gotten divorced and my sister and I ended up with our dad, his new wife, and her kids from a previous marriage. We were settling into our new lives, and part of that was my sister and I visiting our mom every other weekend. I was starting to heavily get into pop rock music. My mom was rediscovering pop music being single again. We both liked this song. My mom would sometimes give my sister and I a couple of dollars to go up to the local department store (Woodward's in New West, BC, Canada)'s record department and buy a single, and this was one of the first singles I bought. My mom passed away earlier this year. This is the kind of gentle singing along with catchy music that she always appreciated.
Strolling down memory lane bought me here. I'm 56 and rocking out to 1 of the best lyrical song from my past.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
*-Nola 777-* I'm familiar with Big Brother 1984. I also know the analogy of 'Eye In the Sky.' The title kind of gives it away. We're always being watched, even through television and smart phones. The peacock logo, the 'Eye' logo are peeking inside your house too. Edited for "No, I do not like NWO." Are you familiar with the camps for "Communist" 🙄 in the USA? Nothing new under the sun.
