**CORRECTION!!!** One thing that I forgot to account for is the slower regen on Stasis abilities. I went back and tested tier 10 Discipline Shadebinder with Eye of Another World. Grenade cooldown went from 53 sec to 43 sec. So longer overall cooldown, but bigger gains from Eye of Another World! 👍👍
This is my go-to Stasis exotic. The “set it and forget” passive buff is fantastic and does a great job of mitigating the prolonged cooldowns for Stasis.
Can’t say it enough, reviewing older exotics an making “updated” videos of them is essential for newer players. Your breakdowns continue to be the goto standard, explain the abilities, apply them in controlled an game tests. Then lay out the facts, and let each player decide for themselves. EoAW is neutral exotic that you can build your stats around, but there in lies the issue, “building”. Thank you. For taking the time to do this.
It's my pleasure man! Trying to see how older weapons and armor pieces fit into the current sandbox is something I really enjoy doing. Veteran players might not get a whole lot out of the video, but if a new or lapsed player can make good use of the content, then I'm happy! 👍🍻
And that's exactly what you did for me, even if it is from a year ago. Got the helmet from Xur today, but wanted to know the in-depth details of it. And funnily enough I was going for a build similar to your by heavily investing into Recovery, Discipline, and Strength. Very helpful video for a newcomer such as myself
I can vouch for this!! The abilities come back a bit faster on Stasis than a Light subclass can, and it lets you get a lot more aggressive with your abilities. Amazing on PvE 100 Intellect build and Whisper of Bonds.
I remember when i said: "dude, i really want eye of another world!" to a friend in an crucible survival match, when the match ended i got it and laughed so hard.
It is a very very nice exotic that can be extremely strong when you build around it! I never really gave it as enough credit...until recently. I'm sure I'll have a Chromatic Fire review out at some point here! 😁🍻
Is... Is chromatic fire good? Why not just use dragonfly...There are dragonfly snipers, scouts, hand cannons, auto rifles, sidearms, etc. Why use your exotic slot for such a small, and situational thing
What I love about this exotic is ut allows me to only really focus on upping my intellect stat for faster Super cooldowns and not get punished for it via longer ability cooldowns. It feels like a win-win exotic
Very good point! That is a nice plus to using this exotic! Even though it's function is simple, it really provide a lot of versatility in our stat lines and loadouts! 👍👍
Still useful to have at least some in the other stats, especially resilience and recovery, not for faster cooldowns but for the stuff the helmet doesn't cover.
Eyes is essentially a +2 tier in recovery, discipline, and strength. It does not increase these stats, just reduces the ability cool downs. So if your recovery is 80, your rift cool down will be closer to if it was at 100, but your actual health recovery is not affected. I’ve been using Eye for years now, and it’s been slept on by a lot of players. This is an S-tier exotic. Everyone uses geomags with chaos reach, I use Eyes. With ionic traces + the Eyes basically gives your grenades and melees back within 30 seconds. Very affective in the crucible when you’re priming nearly every engagement with an ability.
I swear every time I need some information on something you already thought about it a month ago LoL *reads exotic description* Me: what does that even mean??? *RU-vid search* Highly detailed Ironworker video less than a month old
@@Tasmanian-Rebel It's a world drop, so just keep farming exotic engrams i suppose. Xur is in the tower hangar, you can buy an engram from him which might give you one
In my entire life and playing with D2 for 4403 hours , I only used two exotic : Eye of another World / Ophidian Aspect. rest are shit but some are good like Lunafaction Boots / Crown of Tempests / Sunbracers
Man, I really appreciate your work and teaching- great stuff. Love the quote about earning likes, not expecting them. You, sir have earned my respect, sub, and likes. Thanks for your hard work. I can't stand the streamers that beg or tell me I have to like and sub to get to (X) number......Really off putting.....Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much man! I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying the videos and I really appreciate you subscribing. I have the same outlook as you with content creators asking for likes and subs. The way I see it, it's good practice to remind the viewer to like or subscribe if they enjoy the video, but when someone goes of on a 3 minute tangent about "we want to hit X subscribers by this date", or "let's see if we can get this video to 1000 likes" it's a little irritating to me also. If the content is good, I would do that anyway! 👍👍
side note: the enemy highlight works well for highly mobile Boss enemies like psions and fallen, as well as majors and ultras that just love to run away behind cover at the worst moments.
This video was coincedental for me since I recently came across people discussing its use with Stasis so I’ve using off and on, trying to get an opinion on it. Perfect timing, my friend!
Glad to hear it!! I hoped the video was helpful. I forgot to test the Stasis cooldowns in here, but I do know that max the exotic will shave a full 10 seconds off the grenade and melee cooldowns at tier 10. 👍👍
It is pretty cool and often overlooked! It may not come into play all that often, knowing if an enemy has a super charged could save your life in certain scenarios! 👍👍
just made a warlock 2 days ago and already have it at pinnacle cap, my 100 recov build works perfectly with this exotic and i absolutely love being able to buff to and constantly rift my team, very underrated exotic imo
I myself like to run (pve) Nezarec’s Sin, with Graviton Lance, on a top tree Void-Lock. Chaining Void-explosions for dayyzz!!! With Bloom and Cosmology
Ahh from the numbers the effect is weaker the stronger the stat is. On T2 it takes 34% off the grenade, on T5 it takes 26% and on T10 only 17%, rift got similar numbers.
Stasis ability cooldowns are longer, so you see better gains from this exotic by using it with Shadebinder. Imo it is a top tier exotic for that subclass in both PvE and PvP. Verity's Brow might edge it out in PvE, but that's the only exception really.
Much appreciated man!! I've always viewed interacting with the viewers as part of the gig. It irritates me seeing content creators that would post a video and not respond to a single comment, so I decided to go the opposite route and try my best to catch all that I can! 🍻👍
Yo just wanna say I'm not a very longtime sub at all but I love your videos man. You just give off a chill vibe that I really dig when watching videos about D2. Some channels are really condescending and expect you to know everything and I despise that. Thanks for all the videos! Now to catch up and watch a bunch :)
You're very welcome man, and thank you for taking the time to check out some videos. I always try to present the information so that someone with limited Destiny experience can understand what I'm talking about. I feel that far too often newer players or casual players aren't taken into consideration, and I do my best to make sure that's not the case with my videos. 👍👍
I used this exotic with Erianas Vow and I made a charged with light build using Precision charge Taking Charge, Stacks on Stacks, and High energy Fire. I called it Eye of another Vow
I'm thinking that it would be great to keep Recovery, Discipline, and Strength somewhat low and dump points into Intellect. With a few mods, the reduction in the former 3 stats should be at least somewhat compensated for. With the right mods, you might as well forget that you're carrying a gun.
I planning on taking another look at Outbreak next season. I don't have the catalyst for it and I'm thinking it will be added back into the game in season 14. I do have a review out for Sleeper that was done in Season of Arrivals. It's possible that I may have another peek sometime soon! 👍👍
pretty sure i played through most of the campaign co-op with this thing. is the time saved a % per base cooldown ability rank or is it a dev-pickerd time reduction unique to each ability and rank? e.g. 35-17% reduction based on ability rank regardless of the ability? or different reduction %values for each of the 3 affected abilities?
I was looking at these numbers for a long time trying to pick out a distinct number patter or percentage decrease with in the sets. My Ironworker brain couldn't put anything solid together. But regardless of the ability, the cooldown time looks to be adjusted by the same roughly the same amount with this exotic. I hope that made sense! 😂👍
Pre stasis, i would have used ophidians over eye simply coz gunplay was stronger over abilities in the meta. However with stasis introduced, i completely shifted to eye of another world as the fit all exotic. Need to piss someone off? Stasis. Need to outgun someone? Top tree dawn. Need to be a super spamming PoS? Chaos reach. And all i had to do was to max out intellect, the eye would compensate for the lost stats. Another benefit is having plenty of resil, even though people look down on high resil builds on warlock. I say that as they struggle to 2 tap me with handcannons.
This is basically titans Heart of Inmost Light but for warlocks. I only play titan and if I do not have anything in particular in mind then Heart is my go-to exotic armour. (or the dunemarchers if they aren't broken.)
I really liked what you were saying about likes etc. not being a given but rather earned. You are one of the very few i’m subscribed to, because i believe the content needs to be informative, concise and to be demonstrated or deepdiving into mechanics, thoughts or opinions need to be elaborated without going full pr-horny RickKackis.. which i find rather disgusting and manipulative at a dumb level. While also quite infuriating at times, having people waste your time when there are other options a click away. Most people don’t know how much time and energy goes into making content, not to mention how hard motivation has to be in order to be correct and maintaining status as a trustworthy source of information. If they are full-time content creator, victims of youtubes algorithm etc. actually is irrelevant to normal people looking out said sources of information, so i personally find it very positive and more deserved, motivated to do so, when not begging for it. And logically that should yield more results, scientifically that’s not the case, sadly enough, so i get the gimmicky intro/outro in every video.. but man it kinda ruins it It’s like that super annoying hot chick that plays dumb and insecure just to trick people into feeding her narcissistic ego. While you know what they are doing and just feel really provoked instead. I appreciate you 😁
Hahaha!! Thanks a lot man! I do my best to put out solid informative videos, and let the content speak for itself! It's always nice to hear that someone appreciates the content I put out there and my perspective as a whole! 👍👍
Thanks a lot man! The transitions have always feel....mehhh... to me as well, but I could never come up with a decent way to serve the same purpose. If you have anything in mind that could work better, or point me to a video that has nice transitions, I'd love to hear about it or have a look! 👍👍
Lol I only use this exotic in the same circumstance ie when I can't think of anything better. It's ok but wont replace my necrotics! Great review dude, 11k and counting!
Thanks a lot man!! I'm always slightly worried about the performance of armor reviews because they're bound to miss a portion of potential viewers, but I was happy to see the warlock come out strong for this one!! 😂👍
My 2nd favorite Warlock Exotic... maybe even of the whole game. Ophidian Aspect is still better, but i fell in love with this the moment i got it. Just standing around and doing nothing... getting your arbilites fast with 40 on each stat... Just awesome. But this with the pvp aspect was new for me, so, thank you very much for reviewing this :D
This was definitely one that I took for granted. The passive benefits are solid, but when I really focused on building around this exotic, it really felt exponentially stronger! 👍👍
Awsome vid and u explained the build very nicely u earned a new sub keep it up bud, I main titan so I will be trying this with my warlock this weekend ooooo can't wait I'ma be clapping some 🤩🤩🤩
Thank you very much man! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the video and I really appreciate you subscribing! I've been really impressed by what this exotic can achieve right now. I'm sorry that I didn't give it enough credit sooner! 👍👍
The exotic feeds the class ability, the class ability mods feed the super. You just made the exact same case that I made in the video with grenades. lol
Great review. It is a fantastic neutral exotic armor piece when you don't want to commit to a specific playstyle and want to try as many as possible, relying on general ability spam (same reason why Frostees are my favourites for Hunter, but there are more options there for that). In spite of its generic usage, it is however ideal for stasis. Ever since I read about it and saw some RU-vid videos featuring the above calculations, it has been almost screwed on the armor of my Warlock. When I am feeling a bit rich on materials I try other builds, but Eye had always been my main one for various subclasses (mainly for Stasis Warlock, though). I also love how absurd cooldown times can become when it effectively takes your tier above 10. By the way, from what I have seen, highlighting invisible targets below half hp also works in PVE, not just PVP.
Very nice video! I am currently making a ton of armour sets w/ dim to masterwork in the future, so that i can delete the rest from my vault, and this video definitely helped!
i've just come back to the game and i have an old eye of another world. I upgraded it with some blues but i don't have that energy bar on it. Anyone know how i add that to the exotic?
The whole armor system was reworked a while back, but to you can pull an updated version straight out of you collections. It's probably going to have a pretty bad stat roll on it, but it will have the features that the older one does not. 👍👍
Absolutely!! I love the versatility that it provides. Like I said in the video, I used to just throw it on as a "I don't know what I want to use" exotic, but the deeper I dove, the more potential I saw! 👍👍
To be completely honest, my opinion on slug shotguns is really not the one that you want. Me and that archetype have never really gotten along! 😂 I mean, I can stand still and dump a mag into an ogre's face, but close quarters precision is definitely not my strength. 👍🍻
I mix Eye of Another World with 100 recovery and bottom tree Storm and "Perpetuation" mod in a void Bond in comp, if I keep close to my teammates it's literally a rift every 20 seconds or so, body shotting the enemy team with my Quickdraw Frozen orbit, not even funny and two tappin with my True Prophecy. PS: I stole this build from CammyCakes, but he used Lunafaction, I prefer this setup tho.
Sounds like a very strong setup! I can see the benefit of Lunafactions, but I'm with you. I think Eye of Another world provides a bit more from a wholistic perspective! 👍👍
@@IronworkerGaming and if you don't suck at aiming like me, using Momento Mori Ace is also two tap land with a faster TTK than a 120 (again, provided momento Mori is active)
Another great video - thank you so much for all of your analytical, data-centered info! Quick question: Verity’s brow and Ele wells or Eyes of Another World and Ele Wells? Which do you think recharges your grenade faster? :) Thanks again and great vids! Please keep it up.
I honestly don't have a whole lot of experience with Verity's Brow. I was just talking with someone else about it, and I think I'll have a look at it in the near future! 👍👍
This thing is perfect where it is sence you can only have one exotic this one is good but you have the sacrifice of not being able to equip other exotics but you can spam abilitys
It really is a great neutral exotic! It can plug a lot of holes in the stat line, but you're right, it is a the cost of running a more "interesting" exotic armor piece. 👍👍
You're very welcome!! I've always known there were some misconceptions about Eye of Another World. I though I'd do my best to try and clear some of them up! 😁👍
you know what Ironworker, I just realized you've never done a review of Varity's Brow helmet. If I can make a request for that review that would be pretty cool. Honestly I don't need a review to tell me how top tier it is but it's a very underrated and underused exotic. I think that's because it used to not be very good but they buffed the every living hell out of it about a year ago and it's been one of my 3 main PVE exotics that I use for most encounters in the game. It's also pretty good in PVP as long as you're using an energy weapon as your primary. The buff they gave it not only improved the grenade recharge rate but they also gave it some new functions like each stack of Death Thrones not only buffs grenade recharge but each stack gives your grenades 10% more damage stacking up to 5x. That's just 2 things that it does very well now. I think you'll really take a liking to it after you realize how incredibility strong it is. I'm not joking but it's better for getting grenades back then Nezerec's Sin is and you can use any type of energy weapon to get the grenade back, you're not locked to just one type.
I was just talking with someone else about Varity's Brow. It's honestly an exotic that I've really not spent much time with, and I'm interested to see how it's holding up currently. It will probably be a good candidate for my next armor review! 👍👍
@@IronworkerGaming lol be prepared to be impressed. I've stopped using nezerecs sin with devour and now I only rock the brow with devour. Hell I even use it with top tree void, middle tree arc, top tree dawn blade in PVE, well of radiance if I'm doing something where I want lots of grenades instead of lots of supers. Hell it works great with any subclass even stasis. Eye of another world is a great exotic to pair with stasis but Varity's Brow is even better.
there's a lot of fun in spamming the turret stasis grenades. With a demolitionist energy gun like the ikelos SMG or a truth teller with demo you can have so many stasis turrets out at one times that you'd think bungie wouldn't allow something like that to happen in pve.
I started rocking this exotic as soon as i got Shadebinders, thank you for clarifying exactly how much time it shaves off, really helpful! You have my sub. :)
Much appreciated man!! One thing I forgot to account for in the video is the elongated ability cooldowns with Stasis subclasses. I posed in the pinned comment what to expect at Tier 10 with Stasis. Overall cooldowns will be a bit longer than the light based subclass, but they'll also see bigger gains from this exotic! 👍👍
I love this man Do you think you'd be interested in a review on ophidia spathe? I know you're a warlock, but there's a pretty unique build that I used to use as my go to for pve This was along time ago so it's very simple, but it's middle tree solar hunter with ophidia spathe and 100 mobility, I used to run high strength too but thinking back I'm not sure it's necessary Essentially the knife and Dodge regen combined with ophidia spathe meant that you could throw infinite knives, after maybe 3-4 you would need to gamblers Dodge to get that instant refresh but I have good memories of running entire strikes without hardly every shooting a single bullet I'm curious about the actual numbers on this build though, is it actually viable? Is the dps as good as I remember? Waddya reckon, i know you had to stop viewer requests a while ago but its such an interesting idea to me Keep up the good work mate :)
Sounds very interesting! It's pretty rare that I hope on my hunter....(like not since Season of Arrivals, rare 😂) but if I do end up pulling him off the bench at some point I'll be sure to look into it! 👍👍
I might look at this exotic if I can get (or have and haven't noticed) a god roll for it. Right now, the cornerstone of my builds are my god Nez Sin with Void Primary wep.
@@IronworkerGaming It really is, and it doesn't matter what my Subclass is. I run the same weapon/mod load out for all of my subclasses and it feels just as effective. Except Stasis, but that's because I can't seem to figure out easy ways to get Grenade kills when the majority of what they do is freeze enemies ._.
Hahaha! I am happy with the stat line on mine....but after playing Destiny 2 for years and seeing dozens of these helmets drop over that period of time, I've had liberty of sorting through many different rolls. 😂🍻
Much appreciated!! It's always been my outlook on RU-vid, even before I started creating content! Thank you very much for the subscription and welcome to the channel! 👍🍻
This was one of the very first exotics I got when I returned to playing Destiny 2, and I will say that after using it immediately after getting it I had trouble with ability cooldown tracking because of how good Eye Of Another World is. And this was before I learned all of the build changes for Warlocks long before Beyond Light dropped. The overall perks on EOAW make it fantastic for reading Nightstalkers as I remember managing to avoid them as EOAW highlighted them easily. While most players sleep on EOAW, in several PVP matches I have noticed that a quarter of Warlock players using it. Let's just say that void grenades was a real plentiful hazard in the Crucible when EOAW Warlocks were running around.
It has seemed to get a little more traction as of late! I think the introduction of Stasis has opened a lot of peoples eyes (including myelf) to how much upside this exotic really has across all subclasses! 👍👍
Yeah, just started using this again. I run a pure war cell build and stasis subclass with the turret grenade plus the divination bow. Things go boom and freeze a lot. 🤣
I’ve always looked at Eye of another world but never really used it, after seeing this though I might start using it, it’s very useful that it can go over Tier 10 stats, getting a ton of healing rifts will be a huge benefit especially when it’s paired with something like benevolent dawn
Great point! This would work very nicely with MT Dawnblade as well!! While I really never gave this exotic enough credit in the past, having abilities up so often has been amazing! 👍👍
At tier 10 recovery with Eye of Another World I get my rift back before it expires...just spamming that thing until nothing moves anymore around you. Needless to say how clutch that is when you're in a bind during difficult activities. I usually roll with high base recovery gear, so all I then have to do is just spec into discipline or strength, since recovery costs more than disc or str mods.
It's not bad by itself. But it'd be cool if killing high priority targets contributed to your ability cooldowns or something that'll make it worth to go after them in general.
Thanks a lot man! I throw out an armor review every now and then. I mainly focus on weapons because they tend to appeal to a wider audience, but I never mind taking a break from them once in a while to check out a piece of gear. 👍🍻
