Good news is more and more players are coming back. Heck I bounce back and forth between this and gw2. The soundtrack and atmosphere of the original is so grand and majestic that it is hard to top!
@@Orcaluv26 Jesus Christ, my GW2 Friend list exploded a few weeks ago and my old guild which mostly disbaned asked if we want to play again. The 10 year party and Steam release got a lot of people back which is overall a good thing for the GW franchise and iam happy to be a part of it since the start of Prophecies which i bought in it's first week of release. Best game series ever. (Apart from the first 3 Splinter Cell games before Ubisoft dropped the ball ;_;)
The first and only MMORPG that hooked me in. Started playing it when I was 13 yearsold, stopped when I was about 17. Learned most of my English by communicating with players. Had an overseas relationship for a few years thanks to this game. Got inspired to become a concept artist thanks to this game. Fell in love with orchestral music thanks to this game. I will forever cherish it.
Exactly same here except it was World of Warcraft for me. Also since I am a soundtrack nerd I feel like I should give this game a go cause it sound great. I played GW2 for a little bit and I can hear some of the themes were taken from the original GW, very interesting to hear.
This game was my fucking teenage years... thank you to the developers for creating a world richer than my dreams, thank you to all my guildies whom I fought and farmed alongside for hours, thank you to those of you whom I met in the brief passing of a Droknar's Forge run, and to everyone that is lucky enough to have experienced the era of Guild Wars: Prophecies, from Tyria, through Cantha, through Elona and back again into the lands Tyria for EoTN: thank you thank you thank you.
Thanks to everyone for all your lovely comments. My husband and I tied the knot this year May 19th. I did indeed walk down the aisle to this and we had our charr plushie as our ring bearer - a ring on each horn. It was fantastic. :>

Pretty sure you used the meme wrong here. "Hold my beer" is used when someone incompetent is trying to do something difficult. I don't think GW2 was incompetent in making this epic song.
Played it since I was 13 years old. Then I was going to Guild Wars 2. The better experience was in Guild Wars 1, so much Guilds maked, so cool people meeted.
I still remember booting up guild wars Nightfall for the first time when this expansion was already out, this song would just blare through the main menu and character creation. I still remember the first time i saw the dervish and paragon classes and the flare of the music scrolling through color options. What if we all just.. dropped out AAA titles and went back to guild wars? The Great Resurgence.

Listening to this makes me remember the good old times, years ago. Listening to this makes me emotional. Listening to this literally gives me heartache. Why? Because this, is so freaking nostalgic to me, that it hurts to listen to this, because I can't play this anymore. This is without a doubt one of the best games I have EVER played, and might be THE best game I ever played. I love this so much.
Any of you on a nostalgia bent should know that the game is still played and has an active community still (not obviously as active as it was, but there are guilds you can join to team up with people!).

Jeremy soul, best game music maker ever. Even movies must be jealous of him. If all movies had music like this... One of the biggest reason I think i liked Oblivion, Skyrim, and Guild wars so much! I hope there's some kickass tracks like this (new ones) in guild wars too. I hope they use this one as well, cause its my absolute favorite in guild wars 1.
I remember when this expansion was about to release and the trailer launched with Mr. Soule's amazing score. I was entranced...and may have screamed, because GWEN. His music packs such an emotional punch, even now.
Crying a lil on then inside while listening to this masterpiece. So many memeories, if only Guild Wars 2 wasn't completely different (and bad) game. :(
Nostalgia... My first and last MMO; the best ever in my memories. Jeremy Soule' music just make me remember when I first came in the Eden with my little mesmer, and met the little Gwen...
I tried quitting GW a while back, but, strangely, I found it was not the gameplay itself, or even the story that had me coming back again and again. It was the music. Damn you Jeremy Soule, for ruining my social life with such beautiful songs.
When I get out of school, I plan to go out into the world as a writer, poet... and a composer. Jeremy Soule is one of my biggest inspiration. He composed in most of my favorite series (Dungeon Siege, Elder Scrolls)
15 years later this is still one of the best orchestral gaming music pieces ever made. Spend thousends of hours in this beautiful world. Thanks to ANet and Jeremy Soule for making this one of the best parts of my life.
Wasn't Jeremy Soule contracted to exclusively do MMO genre music for SOE/ Daybreak for EQN? I wouldn't mind that much were it not for the fact that EQN seems to be on rocky ground atm (Haven't heard anything from it for a long while actually). The guy doing the OST for Heart of Thorns and Living Story is great and all, but this is THE Jeremy Soule we're talking about.
Really wish they had tried to keep the feel of what made Guild Wars and its expansions so special when making Guild Wars 2, but they really didn't for me I tried so many times to get into GW2 but its just lacking something

Anyone else noticing the major similarities between this theme and the main theme from Skyrim? Apparently fast-rhythm trumpets conjure images of the great white north.
Expertly mastered game, with beautiful graphics, storyline, and last but least very epic music. I reccommend this game for a lot of people who love any MMORPG. (Not to mention the fact that Jora is actually preety hot too! ;D)
Thinking of a dwarf running up the aisle yelling THE DESTROYERS ARE COMING, cue the music and running from the destroyers into the portal and the Eye of the North. ...Actually, that sounds like a pretty good wedding
After 5 years of playing, I still cant understand how affected I get by listening to the Guild Wars tracks. Do you? I mean every time I hear it, i get that feeling for just starting up a character and start allover.
@heebiejeevies congrats man, i just got back into it after a year or so break. I usually play with my itunes on but honestly I have the music up as loud as it goes because the music in guild wars is just so damn epic.
@legalova Directsong has all of his albums - and anything you buy on Good Old Games (GoG) includes a soundtrack. I'm listening to his Icewind Dale soundtrack now as it happens.
