Hello Charles all the way from North Carolina USA. I've been playing the guitar since I was 7 years old and I'm going on year number 57 now of beings a guitar player. I've worked with and played with MANY bands in my life, club circuit and national bands, and have seen and heard and played with MANY good bass players, but you my friend are hands down the absolute BEST bass player that I've ever seen or heard in my 64 years of being here on this earth!! I'd just about give anything to be able to play in a band with you on the bass guitar!! All I can say is keep up the fantastic work my friend and whatever you do PLEASE don't stop making these videos for us to hear and watch you tearing up the fretboard on your bass guitars!!!!!!! You are the cross between Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen of bass players! 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Man I love the twist that this is a video about perseverance and not some dude feeling totally crushed by someone else's power. Wholesome, motivational, good stuff
Dude's not only has god level bass playing skills but also has mad editing skills as well , awesome video and outstanding playing as usual by Charles .
Yeah, because he's such a monster on bass, I think most people overlook his musical arranging skills, recording/mixing skills, and his video recording/editing skills. Genius level on so many accounts! SICK!!!
I love how this was done on a 4-string, just really makes this feel that much more approachable to someone getting into the instrument--greatly appreciated!
This was such a great idea. Depicts how I feel when I listen to you/actually get to play some of the few things I can play like you :) GREAT STUFF CHARLES !!!
Battle of the basses by the best bass player I've ever seen or heard, and I'm 64 years old and have been playing the guitar since 1967 when I was only 7 years old. I've worked with and played with MANY good bass players in the club circuit and national bands and if I could have him playing bass in my band I'd still be out and about touring right now!!
64 years old and still don't understand anything about music? That's really sad. :( I have written songs from 1986 on (long gap between about 1998 to 2019) and I wouldn't take that guy as my bass player even if somebody would pay me for that.
Holy crap, that was amazing! Not only your spectacular bass playing, but your video editing has improved with everything new you post. Impressive, as always🤷🏼
Sir Charles, the undisputed heavyweight champion! The video editing is superb and entertaining, and the bass tones are exceptional. Love the sound of the Schecter. Inspiring as always!
Well this certainly hits home brutally hard; I didn't start playing bass until I was 50. 18 years later and I still feel like doing the Jaco thing to it when trying to get better. I know there isn't time to even approach this level or anywhere close, but now at least I'm motivated and I'm going to work on tapping this week. Thanks Charles. I think. 😁
Looks like another day of motivation! I like what you did with the student becomes the master story. I will be sure to get a Mario hat and Joe Dart sunglasses so I can transform. These must be the true bass mastery secrets.
I've said this before, but I'd like to see Charles on bass, Matteo Mancuso guitar and Valeriy Stepanov on keys to form the greatest progressive rock / jazz fusion band of all-time. Drummer? Perhaps Gergo Borlai?
This is very, very tasty on a lot of levels (you now own this song IMO), but especially digging the inclusion of what felt like a more improvisational solo in this one! More please!
Wow Charles, as always your playing is excellent. I liked the format of this video also, cuz i've been the guy in the hat many times (on a 6 string piccolo bass) and can really relate. It's really great how much your channel has grown as far as subscribers, I only became aware of you through Davie504 one of the first times you were featured on his channel and have followed along ever since
*Please sir, if it's not too much trouble, would you consider simply red - holding back the tears from 1985? I love that song and I'd really like to hear your rendition*
Excellent as always! Big fan of your work! Have a suggestion of a cover I'd like to hear. Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder. Super technical but if anybody can pull it off, I know you could!!
