I just want to say that I appreciate how you design you information to the common player, so many of the RU-vid coach try to get the common play to act like the pros and it just gets you frustrated.
I find that the extension of the lead arm is how I keep width and the right elbow tucked to my side is what creates my lag. Am I visualizing that concept correctly? 🤔
Angular Momentum throw the butt end of the club towards the ball come through with the hips and follow through up to your shoulders( now look at your ball fly to your target) ( club twirl)
Nope, never tried or thought about creating lag in my life. It's obviously just a consequence of keeping your hands in front of the club head which I've always done anyway, so never had to think about it.
Hey Alex another classic Keep up this very informative simple but effective instruction I have watched and seen many people show their way but yours is perfect for the beginner to a single digit handicapper Thanks
I agree. Trying to "create" lag is a mistake. loose wrists and arms are a huge benefit to lag. loose wrists hinge naturally and loose arms create speed and lag.
One of the best you’ve done. Sergio’s lag is a bit of an optical illusion. Love the belt buckle bit. If I get that right, from the top is feels like my hands are moving away from target and I’m almost throwing the club “down and away” (because I was taught to pull 30 years ago at the Trafford Centre). How teaching has changed! Great video!
Actually, John Dunnigan has taught this transition move for decades. It’s the simplest way to get the club down on plane enabling one to swing slightly from the inside. Any over the top motion will disappear. He has an older publication “The Secret of the Golf Swing.”
ALEX, I am 52 years old and I am 6'4 235 lbs. I drive the ball over 300 consitantly, as a younger man i could get it out to rest at 360 at my best. I HAVE NEVER ONCE EVER THOUGHT ABOUT LAG. Its a trap brought on by a snapshot of a split second in someones swing. If you take away properly, get to a good position at the top and return the club on a good path to impact you will always have as much lag as you need.
