Very interesting that 3 of the 4 people who spoke in favour of management of the estate are employees & contractors of Lekki Gardens! Susan Oke is an employee of Lekki Gardens while Omotilewa Oluwatosin is an engineer contractor with Lekki Gardens Estates Limited and is also standing trial for the collapse in 2016 of the building at Kusenla road.
what i notice with nigeria system is what you see is what you buy. i always tread carefully and perhaps individuals should have done investigation before putting money down
the place looks horrible. it looks like those treeless streets you find in the slum areas in England. No landscaping, what were the architect and developer thinking about. where is the beauty. A work in progress? more like a mess in progress.
We'll be damned in the long run if Nigerians continues to put their money in projects that are merely just promises and starts to shout after the first phase of disappointments. If there had been a national structure that prevents developers from selling properties without certain standards already put in place even on it's initial plan, hmmmmn, that will be it for the jungle mentality that reduces Nigeria to one failed estate. Clearly, Mr Kazeem Adeokun is not well informed about housing standards.
I have tried to verify the identity of some of the people that were interviewed in the Part # of this series, they are actually one way or the other affiliated with Lekki Gardens.
+Tolulope Osho Nothing works in Nigeria. All I see is mediocrity. Why Do something when you are not capable of offering the best quality. Poor quality construction, poor materials, poor managers. The mediocre manager said it is the best estate in Africa. He should visit Angola to see the quality of projects the Chinese put in place. with these kinds of people in charge of business and affairs, I don't see improvement in the entire country anytime soon.
+andreas uwaoma I agree with you that the quality of work, management, and material is mediocre, however, that does not reflect the norm in the entire country, there are well managed estate actually, in and outside Lagos.
This whole argument that Rome was not build in a day is ridiculous. Why not tell them before hand, so people are aware. That is like going to mcdees and asking for a Quater pounder with cheese, but they give you a regular hamburger, and then tell you that Rome was not built in a day.
Olu Solaru At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this comment section is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Anybody feeling okay in this estate is because they don't know the meaning of comfort and service. He said Rome was not built in a day. Then don't sell or rent because its not ready. Mentality of facility manager is warped.
The right question is not "who is to blame?" at this time. The ultimate solution lies in finding out the real truth which is a total story, not half here and half there combined to form a whole. That way we can find a solution that works for everyone. Until then, it better not to point accusing fingers or speculate.
This is the exact definition of Nigeria, suffering and smiling, mediocrity, living in terrible conditions but think they are living best life. Why can't we get one thing right, just one thing!
KAZEEM KAZEEM KAZEEM. I only pray that your family does not suffer the curses that these residents have no doubt heaped on you and LG. One year has passed as you said and the estate is worse, if anything. Mrs Alo is still blind to the sewage in the streets and the constant flooding. There has been no light for 6 weeks. Water runs for just about an hour in the day. Residents fend for yourselves oh! Fix your own estate or else we will be singing this same song in 2017. There are saboteurs in your midst who will not want the estate to change so that you can always rely on Richard. Get an engineer. Fix your own estate before you lose ALL your investments!!!
