Last week I got suspended from school for wearing an Eyehategod shirt so now I’m learning this to play it on the talent show thanks for showing me how to play it
Absolutely killer! Awesome riff, and love seeing the Super Overdrive get some use here, it's a killer pedal! That combo-to-head conversion is really sick too!
Sound is amazing man, Jimmy has such an amazing style and tone. He's too humble to acknowledge it, but you guys have certainly helped him see it. This riff is THE Eyehategod riff. So syrupy and nasty. Can't wait for that bower OD😊
I use this as a warm up and finger exercise. Nevermind its a bad ass riff. Thanks for the lesson! Edit: Thanks for mentioning knob positions. I feel like that gets overlooked in most vids.
Killer video as usual! Would love to see more Eyehategod videos in the future. Tutorials for songs like Lack Of Almost Everything and Depress would be great!
Hell yeah. I've been waiting for this one for a while after seeing it up on the Patreon! Great work, man. Now just take off the 2 high strings and you're set lol
The SD-1 must be my favorite overdrive/boost pedal ever. No matter what I play through it, it sounds great. It somehow even works for Doom despite the ginormous low-cut.
I used to run a Super Overdrive into a pair of Sovtek Mig100H's.....the older the tubes, the more Super Overdrive the Migs got lol Jimmy Bower is a living legend. Opened up for both Superjoint ands EHG back in the day \m/..\m/
This guitar tone is so heavy and brutal that the devil himself hides when he hears it. I think I mentioned it before. It have you listened to Belzebong and the song Acid Funeral? They’re from Poland and sound heavy but still sound like a 70s band.
Hi dude ! Great vid as usual with you ! And great sound ! One question : what’s the jack connected on the fox return of the matamp gt120 ? Thanks a lot 😎
That amp isn’t being used in this video at all. Chances are I was just running a preamp pedal through the Matamp’s power section for something else I was working on.
@@DoesItDoomhi ! Thanks for your reply 😎. I was thinking about the same thing, but wanted to be sure. 👍 anyway, I think I’ll soon subscribe to your doom lessons. Thanks man
If anybody is interested there's a VST called Solidus Randy 250 which is an emulation of an RG100ES. I just run my SD-1 into that which gets pretty close with a good Cab IR. I'm using the Earth Shaker ES15C IR from Doom Metal IR Pack.
Was Jimmy tuned to standard E tuning back in the day? I've tried to jam to some of their earlier tunes and my guitar always sounds off. I'm totally willing to accept that the problem may just be my guitar (or the person playing it lol). I'm really digging your vids - found my way here though an ad on Facebook a few months back for the Bower Power pedal. Maybe one day... 💸 lol
Oh shit, a Bower Power OD pedal! I need to get me one of them bad boys! I love Jimmy’s tone! I went to see EHG last October in AsburyPark, NJ, and when they came out for their set Jimmy was like, Mike isn’t feeling well, so I guess we’re just gonna jam. 🤷🏽♂️ Initially I was like, fuck man, I just drove from Philly on a Tuesday night for this shit. What a bummer. And tho it was a bummer that Mike couldn’t perform, I, in no way, felt like I didn’t get my money’s worth. That shit fucked hard as hell. The whole time I was like….I could just listen to power chords of that guitar tone ring out all night and feel totally entertained. And so I was. Show was great. Lol. Can’t wait to see again with Mike! Cool video man. Cool guitar too. I’ll throw ya a subscribe right quick! Wouldn’t mind a medicine noose lesson either! 😉
So bummed that they're doing one date in the UK. Could listen to Bower play all fucking day. Sometime I have the first 3 albums on repeat while blazing a fat joint
This is my real channel for guitar and such. Fav song by them is Parish Motel Sickness, and Medicine Noose. Im gonna add you on my jam channel. Mostly do improv jamming. I dont really have equipment for the web but im doing it anyway, no rehearsals.
