some people complaining how could 1 second be that long like bruh, where you even watching the video? They already said that even though the game time end, they will allow the last play to run its course. Its a do or die situation whether the team holding the ball can make its way for a touchdown or be tackled by the defending team instead.

The time hit zero once Monta received the ball. The play can just continue until a player is fouled or the ball gets out of bounds. This is explained in the anime.
1 sec is just for having their offensive round, even if the timer runs out the ball needs to remain at the field and that round can continue, they can one swoop touchdown.. Am just surprised many people reach this episode without knowing the rulesnof american football 😂
That's not how football works. When time runs out the game only ends when the play finishes. It's the same reason you'll see people do hail mary plays with a couple seconds left in the game.

In American Football as long as there is still remaining time in the clock, players can still run one last play. Basically after the kickoff and the opposing team catches the ball the clock will immeditely turn to “zero” but they can still play even with 0 time remaining as long as the team who carries the ball isn’t tackled or whatsoever.
I didn't know the rules at all but I immediately concluded that the game doesn't end unless the play has been stopped via downs etc. even after the timer hits zero
