EZ MAGIC Multiplication on a Number Wheel for 5-9

This is a NEW and MAGIC technique to multiply. EZ MAGIC Multiplication on a Number Wheel for 5-9. This video is helpful for kids learning their multiplication tables because it works with all the larger numbers 5-9, also as a way to confirm an older students memory, and as MAGIC, inspires a WOW response.. This tool is visual and playful and shows deep patterns in math. You won't believe it and yet it works. Great to wonder HOW it works.
Small numbers are easy to multiply, but kids struggle with larger 5-9 times tables. Circle 2 numbers 5-9 on a number wheel to multiply (example here is 8x6). The numbers across are their 10 bonds (pairs that add to 10, here they are 2 and 4), put a box around them. The four numbers create a rectangle, subtract diagonally (smaller from larger of course 8-4 and 6-2 both give you 4) and that is your tens digit. Multiply the two smaller numbers (2x4=8) and that is your ones.
Sometimes your 2 smaller boxed numbers X = a two digit number, add the tens to the tens and keep the ones digit. (Example is 7x5, your 10 bonds are 3 and 5. Subtract 7-5=2 and also 5-3=2 (they always give the same number, WHY is that?). Then multiply the two smaller numbers 3x5=15, add 1 to 2 tens and keep the 5=35.
