EZdok Camera Setup Tutorial

Here is a step by step procedure for setting up virtual cockpit and exterior camera views using the EZdok camera management software. This is my method for moving around the virtual cockpit and my typical setup routine for every plane I feature on the FS MaNiA channel.
The latest version of EZdok is 1.16 which is the version I use (contrary to my claim in the video of using 1.15.1,,, apparently I did upgrade somewhere along the line)
You can find more information about EZdok from www.ezdok-software.com/ . You can purchase EZdok from Flight1 at www.flight1.com... .

Thanks Tim. I almost didn't watch because I already have and use EZdok, but you've taught me something new... I had no idea you could right click on the DHM, etc. buttons. Keep em comin'. Great vids!

Tim, you were reading my mind with this tutorial. Yeah, there's others out there, but, I concur with all the comments here. I don't wanna be rushed through a video either. It's true, yours are very informative, not rushed, no arrogance, and yeah, relaxing. Thanks for this one, Tim.

One of the best videos on EZdok. I know Froogle has a pretty good one, though he has a tendency to really move fast with his tutorials. Then again maybe I'm just getting a little older. Also FSX Genius had a really great series as well. Actually FSX Genius had some of the best tutorials on RU-vid, in my humble opinion. Unfortunate.... Great tutorial Tim, hope to see more, very enjoyable...really looking forward to that King Air....

Hey Tim, Your videos are some of the most comfortable to watch and most realistic. The views you choose add a lot to the content. The visuals are great. I like your intro also. Simple and short. PT Johnson Thanks very much Paul!! I watched a lot of FS videos before I ever made one of my own. One of my pet peeves was and still is having to suffer through some long drawn out intro over and over on an otherwise descent channel, especially if it was blaring loud and obnoxious music! Don't get me wrong, I like music a lot, and I like slick graphic intros, I just don't want to keep hearing and seeing the same one over and over when what I really want is to watch the dang video, just play it already. So, I decided in the beginning, no music, a simple intro, and lets get down to the business of flying airplanes! I'm really stoked about the King Air as well. I have had the Flight1 model for over a year now but only have made about ten or so short flights in her. I am bearing down now working on the finer points and really loving everything the Blackhawk XP52 version brings to the table. I also am working in a special flight in the Carenado King Air B200 as part of this series because something terrible and something wonderful happened in a similar King Air a few years ago that I want to recreate on a flight down in Southwest Flordia. Very moving and heartfelt story that needs to be told, I am going to do my level best to do it justice.And yes as a matter of fact, I reside in the geographic center of the Old North State, which puts me half way between the beech and the mountains. Pretty good deal for a quick run to the coast or shoot up to the mountains for some cooler weather. I like calling North Carolina Home!! Been here since I was a pup. Great to here from you again! I think I know what the King Air flight will be, so that'll be interesting to see how it's recreated. Hope it's coming along okay and thanks for the tutorial. I'm fine without EZdok, but you never know what the future will bring, so this will be helpful.

Hey Tim, Love the videos. I am glad that there are people with talents like you have willing to do these kinds of things. My question is...how do you get such clarity with your views? Inside the cockpit, the instruments and markings are so clear. Is that a matter of your video card, monitor or just the whole system you have. Have you posted an actual picture of your system? Just an FYI.....the latest version of EZDOK is 1.18.5....it was released in late 2014 and brings compatibility to P3D V2. A search for it on google will direct you the download link.

Thanks for this, was really struggling with not-so-EZdok before this video, and I like to think I'm reasonably IT proficient! However, am still stuck with the V1.15. Given that I only purchased the software a few days ago, you would at least think that they would have the CURRENT version only on sale??? Have downloaded v1.17 from the FlightOne Sim Forums, but when I try to extract the files from the zipped folder, my anti-virus stops me and says the exe file is infected with a trojan worm. Tried several times, even on a different computer, but with same results. In the forum they have said don't worry as this is a false positive, but I'm not so sure. Could somebody else please try to download and extract and see how their AV responds?

Hi Tim, First, I wiould like to tell you that I really enjoy your videos. You do a really good job. The videos are very informative, both about the places you fly and also about the airplanes you are flying. I am thinking about purchasing EZDOC, however, the only version I can find is Version 2. Have you had a chance to look at that version and if so what do you think of it? I have also heard of a camera software called "ChasePlane". Any information you could give me on these would be very helpful.

Hi Terry, Even though I am a long time EZDok user, I think you would be happier with ChasePlane. All of the reviews I have seen indicate that it is a better product than EZDok. It definitely has better support than EZDok and I think simpler to set up cameras in the cockpit, outside the airplane, and around the airport. Hope that helps. Best regards, Tim G., FS MaNiA

I haven’t had a chance to dive in just yet but it seemed to have a lot of options that would allow for a lot of the same features as EZDok. A good camera system is a must have for me.

help. I have a problem. When I'm in the wing view, and my plane is on the ground. the camera is completely still and locked in place. When i takeoff and i'm flying, It acts how it should. When landing, right as I hit the ground the camera freezes again and no dynamic movement occurs.

Hello Hunter, Unfortunately I don't have a quick answer for your EZDok issue. Have you checked the EZDok support forum over at AVSIM. Love all of your videos. Just purchased and flying Phemon 300 now for 2 weeks and love it. Question after buying and installing EzDoc 2 everytime I start FSX Steam I have to answer Yes to load Exlauncher.exe is this normal?

Hi Jim, I'm not sure if that is normal, however, mine is doing the same thing. I checked the config file and EZDok is listed under the "Trusted" section... so, I'm not sure what else to do. If you figure it out let me know. Tim

Hi Tim, a question about the Carenado B200: How is it to fly? I already have the Flight1 version, but as I am mostly using P3D I was thinking of maybe getting the Carenado B200 instead of buying the Flight1 one more time.

+highspeed cruise Hi highspeed cruise! I can only speak to how how these planes fly in FSX. I would say the Flight1 model is head and shoulders better than the Carenado version. If you have already experienced the Flight1 King Air, I think you will be disappointed with Carenado's effort (in my opinion) I hope that helps. Kindest regards, Tim G., FS MaNiA

I usually end up solving these type of issues by checking the support forums with the developer and on AVSIM. Sometimes it comes down to trial and error to find a solution. I was using Fraps for screen capture, FS Recorder to record flights, and Sony Vegas for editing. I changed to Elgato for screen capture and Adobe Premier for video editing. I currently don't have a good method of recording and replaying flights with FSX Steam Edition. FS Recorder has never been updated to work with Steam so I am looking for a better flight recorder.
