Excellent exegesis as usual bro Paul, honestly I personally believe that Ezekiel had the shill of acting. God often uses our natural skills in ministry.
Someone took out a full page advert in my local paper dedicated to printing Ezekiel 21 last Thursday. I read it because they had gone to a lot of trouble and expense to deliver a message however you gotta love how Pastor Paul brings the bible to life. It's a hard passage to read.
“They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were killed with the sword. They went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, mistreated- of whom the world was not worthy-wandering about in deserts and mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. And all these, though commended through their faith, did not receive what was promised, since God had provided something better for us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect.” Hebrews 11:37-40 ESV “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. After being made alive, he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits- to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also-not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand-with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.” 1 Peter 3:18-22 NIV
I will pray for you! Remember, "there is no pit that God's love is not deeper still." If you believe in him, repent of all your sins. He wants you to cast all your burdens on Him. Then you can experience the peace and joy that only a belief in Him can bring.
Perhaps he was talking of the "righteous" who were really wicked. Ezekial spoke of the supposedly "righteous"ones committing wicked acts in God's sanctuary in an earlier chapter.
Quick question in 21:27 you said take note this is the first mention of Jesus I thought in chapter 17 22 through 23 was also a prophecy of Jesus could you clarify for me? Thank you so much I have really enjoyed these studies
