This older gentleman Prosecutor is brilliant. Bit by bit he completely undid this doctor's credibility. The only question he forgot to ask was "Now Doctor, are you actually a Doctor?"

Which is why there were no objections from the defense lawyer. The prosecuting lawyer made it difficult for the defense lawyer to object.

The doctor glances at the defense attorney at 1:02:38 or so, with an apologetic look on his face. I couldn't help but imagine her glaring at him. What did she expect? She set it up for him to give false or misleading testimony... I also think the doctor here was caught in some pretty terrible lies. That he stated in his report that the neck wounds could have been self inflicted even though Ezra admitted doing it means he was cherry-picking the data to come up with the 'correct' conclusions, correct as per what the defense told him to come to. And this is a good cross examination. Notice that most of the questions are yes/no, and it doesn't matter how the witness answers. If they agree, they contradict their previous testimony, and if they disagree they look foolish. Also note the prosecutor is polite, fair, and clear. He doesn't get angry, ask unclear questions, ask unfair questions, ask questions that don't go anywhere, or be misleading (like Mr. Nelson does).

I'm surprised she wasn't on any drugs she's just crazy and full of rage. Anyone else surprised she killed Alex who she barely dated over Jason Mengal the one she was drooling over and flirting eyes at him on stand.
@swedishgrrl7287
@swedishgrrl7287 Год назад
I think part of Ezra’s rage came from the fact that Alex was basically done with her. Narcissists have problems being ignored, as do people who have Borderline Personality Disorder (which I suspect is the case with Ezra). From the testimony of one of Alex’s friends who wasn’t part of the Racey’s “family” it appeared that Alex had moved on after she broke up with him (in late Feb/early March). I’m a little fuzzy on the dates but I believe that in one of her interviews she told law enforcement that she hadn’t seen Alex “in a long time”. I also recall testimony that Ezra sent Alex message asking him to call her but he didn’t do so. Additionally during one of her interviews (March 24th I believe) she said something about Alex being really quiet and not responding when she talked with him in the car after they left Alex’s house. She was all about drama so when Alex didn’t respond the way she wanted him to (which I suspect was possibly that he wanted to resume their relationship), her rage kept growing to the point that she took the knife and started stabbing him. As they say, stabbing is an up-close and personal way of killing someone, and the fact that she stabbed him in his genitalia is pretty telling. The attack was obviously prolonged given the movement from the car to the ground so Alex must have suffered terribly. I still can’t figure out how Alex’s body got back into the car into the position with his head hanging out the door. There was a suggestion that Ezra might have tried to get him back in the car using her scarf so perhaps she was able to get the lighter part of his body (the lower body) into the car but didn’t have the strength to pull his torso and head up to the seat. Assuming he wasn’t dead when Ezra ran away because she was so “scared”, with his injuries and blood loss he couldn’t have crawled back into the car and ended up in the position he was found unless he miraculously climbed onto the seat feet first while facing the ground.

I am discusted by the insensitive questions from the Defense in regards to the murdered victim Alex. This young man suffered a cruel, agonizing death. They are trying so hard to prove her innocent. She monopolized, manipulated, and caused havic to those high achievers group. She lied about her age and had sex with her boyfriend's friends while he was away. With all the chaos she created, everyone that Alex was connected with remained rational with each other. She was the only nut in the group. The truth will surface in this trial. R.I.P. Alex.

Watching the defense lawyer try to tear the ER doctor who actually treated Ezra apart, and failing epically, is even better now watching the prosecutor destroy her paid gun! And I would be worried with this man teaching students when he can’t edit his memorandums to the court, that is pathetic to get the victim’s name wrong.

The defense has been completely unorganized during this whole trial. If I saw someone carving into their own arm I don’t think I would let them continue if I could stop them. But Alex did? I don’t believe that. She admits to that but we are supposed to believe she didn’t do the ones on her leg. Self-harm cuts to the thigh are not typically parallel to each other. I think she did it before she even picked Alex, she’s cut herself before. She gets to the farmer’s house, is taken to the hospital where they take photos. They just seem to not be only a couple hours old in those phots.
@Ocrilat
@Ocrilat Год назад
I think it makes more sense if she cut them after the murder, probably after she spent a few hours setting up the crime scene to make it look like Alex was the attacker (so right before she started down the road to Mr. Sipple's house). Once caught in her lie, she said that she cut 'boy' on her arm "so that I never forget the terrible thing I did". On her lying, there is a doctrine in American law called 'Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus' (false in one thing, false in everything). It is the legal principle that a witness who testifies falsely about one matter is not credible to testify about any matter. It opens the door to us and the jury to consider possibly everything that Ezra said was a lie.

@Ocrilat
@Ocrilat Год назад
That might be funny, but I think DuFour did a perfect job here. He quietly and respectfully demolished this witness. Plus his cross was perfect...no matter how the witness answered the questions, it damaged his testimony. Getting Tovar to admit that he cherry-picked the data to find only what the defense acted him too was hysterical. I loved watching Martinez during the Arias trial, but he sometimes would resort to what I would call stunts, which I don't appreciate. After purposefully dropping and possibly damaging the camera, I think he was lucky there wasn't a mistrial.
