That is just a skosh out of line. You should consider altering your language just a skosh. Your "easy v" at home might get just a skosh upset at your choice of words. Skosh!
I've been shooting my EZV for about 2 years now and I was shocked at how accurate it made me.. I had never shot multiple robin hoods in a months time. If you have an arrow in a target it instinctivly will make you focus on that spot when you shoot.
Growing up as a kid in the 90’s I hunted with an old compound bow with no sights, shooting instinctively. As I got older and upgraded I obviously switched to pins but was never totally comfortable with them. Part of me always wanted to use my brain rather than the sights. And watching Tim Wells hunt shooting instinctively made me consider going back but I didn’t out of fear. This sight combines a sight and shooting instinctively. Beyond brilliant. Much more natural than pins.
I love my EZ V. By far the best sight I’ve ever put on a bow. I normally don’t take shots over 30 yards. But I’m much more accurate beyond 30 then I’ve ever been with pin sights. My shooting has also become much more instinctual with this sight. Anyone who says this sight is a gimmick has no idea what they are talking about. They are usually the ones saying I’ve killed 35,000 deer, from 500 yards, with a bow I made, from a tree in my backyard. Seams to be one on every EZ V video. I’ll never shoot another sight. Granting I hunt, I don’t shoot in competitions.
I think the Ranch Fairy said it best when talking about vertical/centering. Your brain tells your body/arm to keep the target where it is "supposed" to be. My groups rarely miss left and right . (even when I first started shooting it a couple months back). Love the fact that I wont really need to be fiddling with ranging on those "last second" scenarios. I normally mentally range objects ahead of time but when a target shows up..."wait was 40 that tree? lol". This is awesome for the other times taking a shot in open areas etc.
I've been contemplating this. For me it is the auto-ranging capability. As a precision shooter from a young age, target panic isn't really an issue for me, but I did hit a doe in no-man's land last year because I used the wrong pin in the heat of the moment. I also let down on the biggest buck of my life because he was at least 35-40 out in an open field where I had no range landmarks. I didn't want to shoot that far without ranging, since a few yards makes a big difference that far out. He ran off while I was pulling out my range finder. In both instances, I think the EZV might have made the kill.
i love my EZV, has really helped me with the panic induced from trying to cover my target with a pin. Im still a relatively new archer, but it has improved my aim while practicing. Had a conversation with Aaron before i purchased the sight, and he was incredibly helpful and patient with me answering any questions i had about it
I've got an EZV sight, after shooting trad for years thought it would help me out transitioning to a compound (arthritis in the string hand sucks), I love the concept, I noticed you really have to shoot a lot to get it down, because I could not shoot as much as I would like and shooting a slower bow with heavyish arrows I was struggling, so put the pins back on, recently added more weight to my arrows (FOC), so resight in, thinking of going back to the V, great video, thanks.
I was super skeptical about buying it thinking it was a gimmick but I took the plunge and absolutely fell in love with it. Its such a great sight and easy to setup and use. Great video
I have used this sight for a year and love it. I did use a different sized target to set it up for even more pin point accuracy. I used a 9 inch paper plate instead of the supplied target and as a result have been able to head shot squirrels and body hit the invasive European sparrows which are quite small. Doing that means only heart and lungs are within the v and that means better kill shots on deer sized game. I am thinking about using a six inch plate and shrinking the target zone even more. It also helped me due to aging eyesight where pins would cause focus issues and this solved that. I am planning on getting rid of the peep and going to a nose button to even further eliminate focus issues.
I switched from a kisser button I used for years & now shoot the nose button. I wear a mask always & the nose button helps u with the anchor where the peep was useless. A little tip is that u can put some strong tape on the sight so if u want to shoot without the peep u just move the sight over. Same goes if u decide to go back to the peep. Really like how u can change the tilt on the sight housing which is also very instinctual.
Excellent review. Once the funds allow me to get a second bow for target shooting I want to switch over to the EZ-V for my hunting bow. It just seems to make sense in the woods.
1st....great job in presenting. You present extremely well. Thanks for the overview. I shoot 3 pin spot hog with a dial. I don't change the dial except for shoots which is rare for me. I've always liked shooting between pins. I want to see my target. This may be the ticket. The fact that there's a self-ranging element -- FANTASTIC. Deer move a lot and you can't remember everything that you ranged. Great vid!
Finally someone who knows how to shoot! First review I’ve seen where the shooter is getting good groups comparable to pin sights. Most of the many reviews I’ve watched are guys getting 6-14” groups talking about that’s all you need for “hunting sight”or “it’s In the kill zone” while being 3” below the back and a live deer would’ve ducked it
@@brandonpero8742 no it's not a tight grouping sight .Its made for the guy who shoots his bow 1 or 2 shots a year and never could figure out those pesky pins ! The idea of not blocking the target is a good idea . Just not this way . Someone should make pins with loops you can see through .
@@jesusoftheapes it can be used for both but primarily for hunting..you can't hold your pin perfectly on a single spot anyway so taking that away and just having a round about area sometimes helps
I got the ez v last year & it took a little bit to get use to but I got it down. I shot 2 doe last year, the 1 in the picture is 1 of them. When I shot both of them I drew back aimed & looked at were I wanted to hit the deer & shot. I hit both of them right were I wanted to no thinking or target panic. Great sight.
I am 60 years old but about the time I turned 50, my eyesight started to get old as well and I started needing bifocals. the problem with that is I could not focus on something close (pin) and something far (target) at the same time like I could do when I was younger. So I found the best compromise was to let the pin blur and focus on the target. With the EZV, I believe that problem goes away as I can now focus on the target and bracket it with blurry tick marks. This could be a game changer for older archers that are optically challenged like me. Ordering one tomorrow.
Enjoyed the video. It's an interesting concept. I'm shooting a trophy ridge 5 pin currently and have a difficult time concentrating on one single pin when shooting. Perhaps the EZV would be easier for me to use. May have to check it out later in the summer.
@@puregameplay7916 to each their own I suppose. I find that my bow is most accurate when I focus on the pin. Same concept as focusing on the front sight of a rifle.
@@outdoorswithcharlie6431 you dont focus on thr front sight of a rifle tho? You always shoot iron sights with oth eyes open and focused on the target. The front and back sight blur out but are still visible enough to line them up.
@@outdoorswithcharlie6431 tell me how you're supposed to accurately hit a target if you arent completely focused on it and the exact spot you want to hit.
Good and thorough review. I’ve been shooting the EZV for a while now. This will be my third season. In fact I bought a second one for one of my other bows. Thanks teacher. Hope your school year is going well and you’re back live with your students.
Looking at this sight not because of target panic but as I'm getting older focus in my right eye on pin sights is getting poor. This seemed like a good down to earth review & use of the EZV.
Great review! Thanks for taking the time to review this sight. I've watched a bunch of vid reviews on this sight and yours is tops, explains it better than the vids on the EZV website. I've been on the fence about this sight but your review has almost convinced me to take the plunge. One question, how far (in inches) is the farthest the sight extends from the front of the riser? Reason I ask is I actually prefer my sight a tad longer out so my sight housing matches up with my peep sight. Thanks for sharing the review and thanks in advance for a measurement if possible!
The sight is 6" from the longest mounting hole, weighs only 6.2 OZ and a 1/4" peep works perfect to draw lengths 29 1/2....then a 3/16....hope you'll try!
I shot my EZV sight for the first time today and I honestly giggled at the first grouping, thinking holy crap I’m never going back to pins. Seriously 10 shots later and it’s dialed in, and I’m touching arrows every grouping, even from unknown yardages. No multi pin adjustments. Just wild. I never thought I could group that good even with pins! Over and over. I’m scared to robinhood arrows. So much fun to shoot.
This looks like a take off variation of the Hindsight. I started using the Hindsight about 10 years ago and never went back to a peep. This definitely looks pretty sweet and have to order one as a result. Great presentation video as always
I am used to pins. My 4 pin trophy ridge is on point. If it's not broke do not mess wt it. My opinion. Great video on the site. Update now run the Trophy ridge REACT h 5 site. Much much better. Lol.
I love the V shape. My sight is the trophy ridge alpha react with the upside down V pin . I can kind of gapping below the pin without moving the slider. Kind of reminded me of Russian dragunov rifle scope which has the V instead of cross hair
I'm new to archery but over the last 30 days I've owned a complund bow have been pretty consistent out to 20 and 30 yards with my 3-pin sight. Would you consider this a good sight for the new archer? I'm very interested as I do not like the fact that the pin covers a good portion of the target. I'm a long time rifleman and this sight seems more natural to me. Your thoughts?
Only problem is with this sight is that you are always assuming that your target is the size of a basket ball. What if its the size of a baseball? you will always be shooting high
Just got mine last week, take 15 min to get use to it , after 1 hour practice with the setting target , i could already shoot at whatever distance without knowing my yardages!!! Mega simple and ultra effective!!! Never go to pins again and on top of that, no more range finding while bowhunting!!!! Simply the best sight on the market for hunting!!!!
Looks very interesting I am a single pin shooter and usually set for 30 then compensate for 20 and 40 but this looks really good especially for sight challenged folks whose pins get blurry well done new sub here
Always love your content brother, good video and solid review! I just can’t get into this sight, love my 3 pin black gold way too much! Thank you for sharing though brother. 👍🏻🏹💪🏻🇺🇸
I bought this sight late yr. I ended up going with a single pin. But the target panic that I have . Sometimes is not to bad to being horrible. I thought about trying it again and maybe using the tick marks. But I'm only 3 weeks for when I do alot of hunting. Do u think I a guy would be better off to wait after season or would I be able to get use to it
The only advantage to this sight it is supposedly not needing a rangefinder. Well if you bow hunt you probably already have a nice pin sight. This V sight costs' $150. Right now Cabelas has three different rangefinders for under $150. Then you also have the rangefinder for other hunting/shooting uses.
I picked up a used React V5 recently. Seemed liked a nice combo between a multi pin and a single pin. Unfortunately with my 26" draw length and arrow weight, my bow is too slow for the React technology to work accurately at longer distances. So between your video and DIY Sportsman's, I am really intrigued by the EZ V. I have some target panic and have not had much success bowhunting partly due to that. So I may be placing an order for one soon.
I just picked up a v3 and made some arrows only 60 grains heavier then my older ones I noticed when I sighted in with the broadheads that it did not really the 30 yard pin was off or the 40 yard pin was off if I got the other dialed in. Not sure what speed I am shooting at at the moment. But I have the react pro 5 pin sight
What I meant is that it isn't meant to be a pin point smash your arrows together type of sight even though you can do it I have, but it is just meant to get you in the kill zone everytime.
Absolutely bud...we are in Montana, longer distances, so I sight mine in for aiming center mass and arrow enters bottom 1/3...or just frame and drop an inch or so...EZ!
Aaron Lasco I’m sure I could’ve spent more time practicing with your sight this summer, but this is exactly the issue I’m dealing with. Guess I’m not ready to hunt with it this season because I keep on letting my arrow go before dropping the tic marks down low enough for my preference. So have you or anyone done any tutorials yet on how to be better at aiming at the lower one third of the animal, or the top of the heart? Down here in the south our deer are small, shots are usually short, and the tendency is to shoot high already when you’re up in a tree. So I don’t feel ready to climb a tree with the EZ V just yet, and I’m just looking for any help I can get.
This is exactly what I’m dealing with. I keep on shooting my EZ V high on my 3D. I frame the deer center mass, but tend to let my arrow go before dropping the tic marks down (to the lower 1/3 or approximately the top of the heart.)
I still use it! Sparingly though as I have a boatload of sights to test, and it is only legal for bowhunting and I spend 9 months of the year doing other forms of competitive archery as well.
I'm very interested in this sights. I do struggle with target panic . My biggest shot is normally 25 yards at whitetails. I have a 3 pin sight. This yr , dropped 2 to the bottom of the housing and covered them with electrical tape and use just the top pin. Was wondering how long did it take for u to get use to it
For me it took seconds to adjust to it. I was truly amazed at that. I've been a diehard pins shooter my entire life and was quite surprised at how quick it all came together.
Do they make one for elk? I know most of the time I'm usually within thirty yards but sometimes I have to range for further shots. Be nice to not need to range for and elk.
I'm a big fan of Scott and TruBall. Right now I'm shooting the Scott Ghost or Jaws for hunting (wrist strap), Ascent for target (hinge), and sometimes the Pursuit (thumb) if I want to mix it up.
Since filming that video I've used a lot of different bow/arrow combos so it has changed multiple times. For hunting this year running an Elite Kure at 30.75" and 61# shooting a 490 grain Victory VFTKO I'm using the 260 Sapphire insert.
@@averagejackarcheryThanks, my Sapphire will be here Tuesday. My best of 3 arrow builds this year is the VAP TKO's in a 300 spine with the Valkyrie full steel system led by the short Jag 210. My total weight is 570 grains with 20.5% FOC. I will most likely use the 240 insert. I'm only hunting areas from killer 🌳 in my saddle @ close range. I'm going to shrink the kill zone on my new paper targets since I think it will make me a better shot. I go Pro & but a dot towards the bottom of the insert as just a reference spot. My brain does the rest. I've been positioning my 3D targets so I can use them as backstops. I try to hit a small twig which is between me & the target. It serves a dual purpose. I'm trying to shoot something very fine & when I hit it I like to see the affects of the shot placement on the target after the twig is struck. The only twig that was hit & fell to the ground was with a Victory Xtorsion with a 125 grain ethics insert/outsert. It didn't change the shot, maybe by a 1/2" @ the most. All with a Prime CT-5 @ 60 lbs. with a 30.25" draw. Depending on the insert testing I might turn the bow up to 63 lbs. if I feel that it helps. Really like that companies made bows with 65 lb. limbs with great efficiency & quietness. Especially with heavier, well tuned arrows.
@@scottymoore9121 I still have it… in a box somewhere . I think the ideas neat and with practice would go really well . I would use it for more than deer hunting so it’s way easier for me to throw a single pin adjustable on and rip em 10-80 yards where I live. Like I said if I was only hunting deer it might be great but I want to hunt several different species and stuff so
@@stumblin_bummblin9774 if you think you may want to sell it, let me know. I may be interested. Just have to try and swing the finances. Money a little tight but am very interested.
I love mine too but, I have to "cant" the bow a little to get the bubble level in the middle. If the bow is vertical, the bubble is all the way to the one side. What gives??
Haha! Well I haven't gone "full snort" but my build this year is total 555gr (225 up front) and with a lighted nock for full hunting rig I'm at 15%FOC.
Nope! Exactly the same. When we say "actual" draw weight, it means most bows aren't actually 70# or whatever when fully cranked down. Could very easily be above or below based on the bow's current string condition.
The first thing I catch is he says I shoot 2 to 3 inch group at 30 yards to me this is not a good group at 30 yards I am splitting almost every arrow.......? Thoughts...?anyone..? Many I'm just Leary..
There is a regulation hunt about 30 minutes from my house. To qualify for the draw you must prove you can put 5out of 6 arrows in a 6" circle at 20 yards. We have folks that can't do it with crossbows....I'll take a 2-3" group at 30 all day every day.
