Still a Great and Formidable fighter!I hope the Air Force leaders finally give the F15 the much talked about upgrades.Yes,It's getting up there in age,but so are just about all US Aircraft but that shouldn't prevent it from getting new radar's,wings, etc. This plane has earned it's reputation and deserves better from Air Force Leaders!I'm so Sick and Tired of Hearing about What China and Russia Have!Well folks We've got Some "Stuff" too!Other countries are buying or improving their F15's while our Air Force Generals debate it's future!Give it the upgrades it needs and it will be an even more formidable Fighter for decades to come!
You are preaching to the Choir here.... Awesome, and still relevant platform, IMHO. I sort of "worship" f-15`s and collect the associated stuff.... Cheaper than drugs, so far........

It just looks cold, when in fact it isn't that cold there at all. MOST of the time it's milder than a good part of the USA I spent 18 months there feb 1957-aug 1958 Sure enjoyed the NON-hot weather. Got up to around 70 in the summer.
effonefiddy productions it is true the exhaust nozzle is controlled by a set of cables opening or closing the exhaust nozzle area. they spin over 300 times a second making the whirr sound! -from an ex Pratt and Whitney F100-220 engine mechanic here. Cheers
Direct from a friend who is a retired(35 years) crew chief that worked extensively with F-15`s: It’s the DEEC (digital electronic engine control) that works with the nozzles. You’ll notice the noise close to when the nozzles go full shut for afterburner. In person it sounds a bit different, not so shrill.....
