Thank you for the video. My son is currently stationed at Seymour Johnson AFB in North Carolina, and he is an avionics maintainer for the F-15E. He's nearing completion of his second month of AF service (10th overall) at a permanent assignment. I hope that someday I'll see him in one of the many videos that are done at SJ.

Man I miss the Air Force. That's so cool. The team work from base ops to the ATC's to the crew chiefs to the airmen on the flight line to the zoomies flyin. It is so awesome. No racism or hate when lives are on the line and your job is to ensure the safety of others so they can do their job to achieve mission success. No one is expendable. Go Air Force.

Thank goodness for FSX Steam, love flying the F-15E's from the 336th FS on there. My physical disability prevented me from going active Air Force, though a good friend of mine once flew these beasts!

Greetings from 🇬🇧. I live very close to the home of the 48th FW where 3 squadrons of f15s are based. Great to see this majestic bird up close.

Marco Maspero I think you're asking what my job was. I started as a communications, navigation, & TEWS systems specialist. By the end of my career, I was an avionics craftsman.

What are the requirements in US? In my country it's extremely strict and difficult to become one. You basically have one chance... and not just that, but you have to be a high school fresh graduate. You miss that chance? forget it boy you'll never ever become one. That sucks

We had F 15E's bomb some pre planned targets for us in Ramadi. Devastating. I am huge fan of them. When they would take off from Bagram in Afghanistan the whole valley roared.

Sorry correct me if I am wrong. But do the names under the canopy mean that those pilots will fly that particular aircraft for the rest of their career?
@VaporheadATC
@VaporheadATC 6 лет назад
No, not necessarily. Once those pilots move on, the names can be removed.

Pilots sometimes don’t fly their own jet even if it is available it is all up in the air depending on priority flights realizability factor and back up jets

I just wonder where is the baggage compartment on the jet? since the pilot carry a big one at the beginning.

At 07:18 - 07:22 were there red flags/streamers hanging from the underside of the aircraft? Thought these were supposed to be removed before flight,

I’m pretty sure once they taxi away, the weapons guys takes them out when they’re doing their EOR (end of runway) inspection, just before takeoff

Anyone know what those smaller tank looking things are? [4:42] Probably fuel right?
@NerfTango1
@NerfTango1 7 лет назад
The smaller "tanks" under the external fuel tanks, are cargo pods for carrying the pilots personal cargo. Its usually clothing and items needed if they are flying to another base or country for more than a day. The smaller "tank" right under the 20mm gun is a targeting pod used for targeting ground targets when dropping bombs or launching AGMs

MXU-648 baggage pods, made from napalm canisters. Sometimes they have a custom paint scheme, depending on the unit.
@TLN-qu4rq
@TLN-qu4rq 7 лет назад
Tanks, I mean Thanks. I probably could have figured it out since at least two other aircraft I know of carry cargo pods (A-10, and F-5). Which besides ECM pods, are virtually the only thing they could be. Thanks for the responses though. Do the pilots themselves load them, or do they simply hand over what needs taken with and the crew does it?
@davidtcpa1
@davidtcpa1 7 лет назад
We called them travel pods. When the aircraft go cross country we loaded the crew luggage, aircraft chocks, and the safety pins/covers in them.

I had to watch the video again. I forgot why I even wrote that. Must have been because I was at Mtn. Bone in the 391st. I guess that was it. Just was giving a thumbs up to the 391st. Now I realize why I don’t remember. That was 3 years ago.

Those pilots were carrying a fair bit of luggage. I wonder where they stowed it on the fighter? Do they have to pay for check in baggage too? Lol
@anthonyhusband3699

I think baggage goes in the things that look like drop tanks or bombs. I am not 100% on what they are called.
