Two flights of F-15 strike eagles out of RAF Lakenheath dropped by for a couple of passes in the Mach Loop. I've also included some passes from a pair and single F-35B's out of RAF Marham on Cad East. Enjoy the Flying
Another sick video. I just want to say as an AF veteran if you have never been to say an air show with high performance jet you really need to experience it. It's not just the sound it's the energy. You can feel it in your whole body. Dayfydd knows what I am talking about. It's both visually and physically stunning.
Agree. I lived on Nellis AFB for 14 years while my Father was stationed there. Air shows just about every year. But also got to watch the Thunderbirds pretty much year round. Dad was a wrench for a short time, until they switched over to the T-38 from the F-4.
Talked to a friend’s son who works for GA. He’s working on targeting systems for the ,ahem, laser weapons they are developing. Showed me a picture of the telescope they are using for it at this time. Only reason he did that was because it is available to anyone who has a quarter million to spare. I started asking questions and he clammed up. He did say even the US military has still got a ways to go before they are using the F-35 to its full potential. Complicated highly capable machine.
It's pretty incredible that the F-15 is nearly 50 years old. Love how you snuck in a couple of F-35's too. Old versus new but BOTH simply amazing................especially the way you capture them in video and photos.
Awesome videos Dafydd! The stills are superb and show such detail on these beautiful aircraft. THANK YOU for sharing these videos. I used to see F-4 Phantoms using a low fly route in southeastern Kentucky USA back in the 70’s and mid 80’s-incredible motivation for a young kid. Wish I had followed thru on my dreams….
I took my chance on bluebell as I thought I could guarantee light and a colourful backdrop. Some flew a little lower than I expected and hid in the shadow. Exit was the second option but looked like most lifted early before there. Thanks for watching Andrew
Dafydd, I was stuck for some creative writing inspiration of a particular scene I'm trying to flesh out. How fortuitous for me that this offering of yours came along. Beautiful! Inspirations galore! The scene practically wrote itself! (If you're wondering, it was about a flight of F-15Es sent to make a low level attack against several bridges and a large rail yard deep in hostile territory, all very heavily defended). I've not seen a pair of jets go through virtually side-by-side through the loop before today. Leave it to you to catch it! I don't know if it ever happened, but I would've loved to have seen F-104s tearing through the loop. Ah, but to dream... Excellent video!
Wowsers Daf that still at 0:38 😍👌👍 is absolutely stunning, I'm sat here hopefully getting top side of COVID and I'm now thinking of my next outing, it's going to have to be to get some more F15 action 👍😁
Thanks Andy! that’s a downer, hope you get better soon. Not been seeing many of them as of lately. Hopefully we get one good blast before the break for Xmas
You are in a different location than I'm used to seeing your previous videos of the " loop " . Well done , a real cliff hanger . After you finish , time for a pint or two at the local .
I am at a place called bluebell for the f15s here. It’s a gruesome climb but the passes are more consistent in altitude. The F35s were captured at a place we call snakepit. Thanks as always Jon 👍
👌👏👏🎥...awesome footage as always mate!!👌.... love that beautiful scenery with the frost in the valley below!!....photos are stunning as ever!!!... I was expecting to see a cracking photo of those 2 x F35's as the pair parted just before entering the loop!!!!📸😁... cracking job Dafydd !!!!..cheer Paul!..😁👍
Many thanks Paul, I have a photo of them approaching but would have liked them crossing over each other. Always have to leave something to chase for the future I guess.
@DafyddPhillips good morning Dafydd, thanks for the reply. Yeah, maybe next time!!🫰.....awesome footage and photos as ever mate!!... looking forward to seeing your next video instalment soon!!!...cheers Paul 🍻😁📸
Always love your videos and photos but damn it's amazing how sluggish these seem compared to previous f15C videos. I don't know if my memory is deceiving me.
Fantastic video Dafydd. The technology is now F35 but I love the peak USAF of F16 and F15 In 20 years time you will be filming a drone that zaps your SD card so when you get home you see nothing.... Until then we can watch your videos and think about Chic and good times
This would be the only reason I would go to Europe again. With all of the insanity, I'm perfectly fine watching in 4K on my TV and forgoing the 11-hour flight to London. Even on an A380...I'll pass.
Flat as a pancake where i come from in Suffolk but as a youngster i would watch the A10s flying up from Bentwaters and they would loiter off Lowestoft Ness point doing aerobatics before being called onto the firing range up on the Wash. I would sit for ages with my dog watching them rolling and doing immelmans.
I’m on bluebell here, after five years of them being in the UK we have been having the occasional visit from them lately as well as the typhoons. Thanks for watching.
The F-35s were stars in your prior Mach Loop video, but F-15s got their due here. Do the European jets also appear in numbers at Mach Loop, or do the American ones dominate it? Also, I think you commented about restrictions or the like for Star Wars Canyon. Is it still in use and accessible?
We see the typhoon and f35b from the raf as well as the training aircraft. Very seldomly we may get an European visitor if they are on exercise over here. Star Wars canyon still has a restriction of 1500 feet since in mishap of 2019. Thanks for watching.
