The f 35 is worse than the mig tho in terms of abilities. Only in stealth and electronic warfare is it better and even then the migs can be upgraded to have that. F35 is an expensive plane that isnt worth its price

​@@theTutenstien Not even EW. You will need LOTS of electric power... the F-35 generates 160 kW with one engine because it's a flying computer. F-22 generates 130 kW with two engine generators, means it couldn't even power the F-35's systems. Now i don't know about the MIG-29 but the F-15 generates only 76 kW. This isn't a simple change. Every inch of the aircraft is already used. You can't replace the engine generator with a bigger one. More powerful, yes. Bigger, no. But then you have to keep in mind the heat management and have to rewire everything. Again, quite bad if all the space is used up.

Small, easy to maintain, (relatively) cheap and can do pretty much anything. A perfect multirole fighter for it's era. It's a shame their prime time has passed and they will be replaced sooner or later.

To the idots who are commenting above me, the F-16 was first test flown in January 1974 by General Dynamics, production approved in 1976, and introduced to the USAF in August 1978. This is their 40th year of use by the USA. They are still being manufactured by Lockheed Martin for 25 other air forces but are no longer being purchased by the US. I worked on components for these aircraft, specifically with the Data Entry Displays/DED's.

44 years since their first test flight and this is the 40th anniversary for when they were first introduced to the USAF...arrogant fool.
